In this 2nd volume, Otogi meets more of the fairy tale characters with whom his ancestors, the Brothers Grimm, entered into a dark agreement. Otogi has to decide whether to bind the fairy tale people into a magical book, or give some of them a second chance. But he doesn't know who to trust, or who will betray him.

The action really picks up in this one, and many of the characters must go through a personal journey to determine what side they will be on in the upcoming fight. Everyone has their own schemes, and most of them are trying to use Otogi for their own ends, but his goodness and kindness wins him loyal friends.

Otogi wants to see the best in everyone, and he finds it hard to believe that anyone could be completely evil. He surprises everyone by being merciful and forgiving, even when he is badly wronged and has his enemies in his power. He's sarcastic and reserved, but he learns to open up to his friends in this book.

We get to see a little more of the history of Cinderella in this book, and some of the mysteries of the past are explained. I was thoroughly entertained by the plot, and interested in the characters!

I think this was a good continuation of the story and it delivered well on the good cliff-hanger from the first volume. However with so much being shown I did wonder whether the third and last volume could answer the questions raised.
I also wondered why the English version of this volume was called Snow White. Sure Snow White has a role and all, and we even got backstory, but is far from the focus of this story. Also we got backstory for Cinderella as well, won't spoil it for you, so why the choice of "Snow White" for the title? Well I guess it will always stay a mystery.
But anyway I still like the humor and story, I just wish Hiyori would be more confident, seriously she could easily beat me up. What is it with authors and using this stereotype that a girl is somewhat ashamed/afraid of her strength? At least this is how she came along to me.

This book was ok it took me so long because I misplaced it. Won’t probably finish the series since it is not at my library and I can’t find it on any manga sites.

The lore is inconsistent. This might have worked better as an episodic series rather than attempting a story arc.

This was not at all what I was expecting. To be fair, I was rushed in the bookstore the day I bought it so I didn't take a whole lot of time examining it before purchase. And I'm glad I didn't. When Cinderella first showed up and was a dude I thought "umm...what?". This sort of genderswap stuff is not usually my cup of tea. But I kept going and this honestly turned out to be hilarious. The character's play into the stereotypes of their "originals" just enough while also being different enough to be new and exciting. While several characters end up with a crush on our 14-year-old hero, this is really a story about friendship, family and choosing your own destiny.

This is continuing the fun story of twisted fairy tales that the first one started. I am really enjoying the different characters, both the the humans and the Marchen Demons. I especially like that each demon is able to warp the area around it to be their own little battlefield. I know the next book is the last one and that's disappointing since the series is so interesting, but I am looking forward to seeing the solution to everything.

Aufmachung

Good continuation from book 1 with fairytale characters that are just as badass in book 2 as they were in book 1 however this time around the question is, are the fairytale characters going to be bound by a dark agreement made by ancestors before or do we set a precedence in modern times.. it was fun to read, pretty cool take on Brothers Grimm tales..

This is awful! Usually, manga is enjoyable because the art helps to tell the story. In this manga, the story is nothing more than conversation, so, the art is talking heads. Yuck!

Two down and one to go.

Endlich geht Grimms Abenteuer weiter.

A great manga take on the fairy tales of old. Many of the characters we know and love from fairy tales are reimagined as super hero bishonen type men, who have interesting takes and looks. For example, Cinderella is a clean freak with an S&M streak who controls and manipulates glass, and Snow White is a sadistic poisoner. That being said, it is still an enjoyable read, and would recommend it to those fans of manga who are interested in fairy tales.

A pleasant read. Continued well from the previous book. I like the development of Snow White's character, the curve balls thrown our way by the author and the protagonist's steadily growing self-confidence. The other fairy tales which are introduced are suitably different from what the reader recognises, but the alterations are engaging and interesting. The art work is brilliant, as in the first book, and the translation is top-notch. I would recommend this series.

I couldn't remember what had happened during the first volume much, whoops. But I'm rather fond of Kanou's art style and the unique take on the original stories of the Grimm Brothers is entertaining. The only part I found somewhat irritating was the fact the main character still let the one guy be his friend even though the friendship had been false. I would've dumped his ass, honestly.
