I received this novel from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This is a VERY short story - only 13 pages. It has a lot of promise but reads more like an outline for a novel than a stand alone story. It could be a great short story with some more fleshing out and still be kept around 60 pages I believe. The characters are people I want to know more about but the details on them and their backstories are scarce. The story is so short and the author tries to introduce so many people and connections that as a reader I felt like I was caught up in a whirlwind and just getting little snippets of the whole.

I would like to see this further and more wholly developed. It feels incomplete. That's why I gave it 3 of 5 stars.

I really liked the main premise of the book but due to its lenght the reader does not really get the opportunity to learn to know te characters!
I think as the story progresses it will become much more engaging and I look forward to readig the series!

Promise of Tomorrow by Mark Miller is a heartfelt and compelling work of Amish fiction that explores the strength of faith under pressure. Through the story of Luke Umble a devoted husband and father whose life unravels after one pivotal decision Miller delivers a narrative filled with emotional depth, honesty, and spiritual reflection.

With grace and compassion, the book navigates the challenges Luke faces: a father who tests his patience, a rebellious son who pulls away, and a young daughter battling Muscular Dystrophy. As the family uproots their life in hopes of healing and renewal, Miller paints a vivid picture of endurance, sacrifice, and unwavering trust in God.

Readers who appreciate authentic Amish storytelling will find this book both grounding and inspiring. Miller’s voice is warm and sincere, capturing the intimate struggles and triumphs of a family fighting to hold onto faith amid uncertainty. Promise of Tomorrow is a touching reminder that even in the midst of hardship, hope remains within reach.
