Happy Birthday, Bitch

Rate this book
Through hiring a private detective, Ashley Monroe discovers that her boyfriend, Carlos, has a little something on the side. She’s severely troubled by his relationship with a reckless side-hoe who refuses to let him go, but that’s the least of Ashley’s troubles. On her thirtieth birthday, she finds herself in a situation that no young woman in the world would want to be in. A gun is in her hand, several people lay dead and there ain’t no other way to put it, other than to say that this birthday bash is over! Ashley could never see herself causing harm to anyone, but on the other hand, a scorned woman may have those who betrayed her having some regrets. Real regrets that Ashley and the other woman may have, when the truth finally comes to the light.

The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is because I would have liked to known more about Carlos. Was there a reason why he was so abusive towards women ( not that it would give him an excuse). The book explained the girls growing up with abuse but didnt really say much about Carlos's background.

This was the reading selection for April i the "Literary Drama" bookclub.

This book was a good short story about abuse, betrayal and revenge. The story is fast paced and drama filled.

WOW!!

I didn't expect all that!!! I enjoyed every bit of it though!! I just don't understand how some women can let a man dog her out and think it's love.

FANTASTIC!!!

Everyone in Ashley's life treated her like crap... her Mother, sister and even her boyfriend. She tried to keep a positive outlook on life but the common denominator remained the same.... the people in her life were A-holes.

On or near here birthday, Ashley decided to give herself the ULTIMATE gift by ending the pain that consumed her life. With that came sweet revenge, one self imposed, the other a "freebie". It doesn't get sweeter than that.

"Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You".

GREAT JOB GEMINI!

Everything he deserved I swear I loved it. Carlos was definitely short of a man he was abusive and stupid in my eyes. Growing up as sisters Ashley and Rachel had their share of problems but no love lost. Rachel seemed sincere but was far from it. To get the full blown story see what Gemini has to offer. Good read.

I can't decide whether to give this 1 or 2 stars.
It was ok. It's a short story, only like an hour's read, but it still took me a few days to finish.
The writing wasn't that good. And it grossed me out a bit!
