DNF @21% : Please tell me it's a joke.
We have a winner! Call Me Mrs. Miracle is the most stupid, sexist and annoying "romance" (I'm putting parenthesis at this point) I've attempted to read for months, and that's saying something.
1) You're not sure you're able to understand sentences? Don't worry! Debbie Macomber translates them for you! Twice!
"If the toy department doesn't show a profit because you went over Mike Scott's head, then you'll have a lot to answer for." He locked eyes with Jake. "Do I make myself clear?"
Jake nodded. If the toy department reported a loss as a result of his judgment, his father would question Jake's readiness to take over the company."
NO SHIT SHERLOCK.
"He cleared his throat, intending to catch J.R.'s attention"
NO SHIT SHERLOCK.
"Jake raised his hand and mouthed, "I'll catch you later."
(...) 2 lines after... Can you guess what's coming?
"Jake would seek her out later this afternoon"
Really, I feel insulted. There's no need to repeat the same sentences over and over again, thank you.
2) You want to know how to deal with a little boy's comments in the most terrible way possible? Don't worry! Holly is here to show you! I swear, I was about to throw my reader on the floor. See, I have pupils of 8 and I can assure you that they're completely able to understand the concept of equality between boys and girls. Yet you have to tell them when what they say is wrong. They're children.
Gabe to his father : "Doesn't she know I'm a BOY? Boys don't bake cookies. It's bad enough that I have to put the toilet seat down for her. I hope you get home soon because I'm afraid she's going to turn me into a girl!"
Holly tried to conceal her smile."
I mean, that's just so cute, isn't it?
When baking : "Gabe frowned. "I could help with cutting them out and stuff. You won't tell anyone, will you?"
"Not if you don't want me too."
"I don't want any of my friends to think I'm a sissy."
She's going to explain to him that baking is okay for boys too, surely? That many men are cooks too?
"She crossed her heart. "I promise not to say a word."
Huh, no.
A little while after, still cooking : He pointed at her apron. "I don't have to put on one of those, do I?"
"You don't like my apron?"
"They're okay for girls, but not boys."
"You don't have to wear one if you'd rather not."
He shook his head adamantly.
"But you might get flour on your clothes, and your friends would guess you were baking." This was a clever argument, if she did say so herself.
Gabe nibbled on his lower lip, apparently undecided. "Then I'll change clothes. I'm not wearing any girlie apron."
"That's fine, " Holly said, grinning."
I'm sorry but this is a TERRIBLE way to deal with this kind of comments and I can't even understand that so few reviews notice it. It's NOT endearing. It's NOT cute. It's telling this boy of 8 that it's okay to think that men can't cook and wear aprons. You stupid.
3) I won't talk about the godly quotes because even though I didn't know before starting, it's a Christian romance so it wouldn't be fair to attack those BUT can we talk a second about the "philosophical" stuff? When I write philosophical I think utter crap in that case of course. I mean,
"People are like tea bags - you have to drop them in hot water before you know how strong they are."
What does that even mean? Really?
"Forbidden fruit creates many jams"

To conclude, I will never ever read a book written by Debbie Macomber again. Her characters aren't interesting in the slightest, share no chemistry whatsoever, and the whole story is filled with latent sexism that makes me want to throw up.

Honestly...I did really like this. And it's more a matter of that solid star, because I smiled a lot, even though it was certainly over the top....something...I don't know.
Basically, it was all about the guy. He was adorable and I really loved him as a person. So, for him, I give this a three. Otherwise, I'd really rather have been reading something else, honestly.

I had some hopes preparing to read this book, but it did not disappoint. That's because my expectations were not high. Unexpectedly, I got some encouragement about writing. This book was unknowingly a big book about how to please a reader with a limited ambition, creativity, or talent. I learned that details needn't absolutely matter. I also learned that filling out a 200 page book was not difficult.
The Christmassy story itself is not bad on its own. There are some characters who won't be accused of having too many dimensions. I liked the way events moved and coalesced into the obligatory happy ending. I'm also happy to have churned out a better (or more optimistic) review than I hoped regarding this book. So thanks for that. It was a breeze reading through it. Totally standalone and with an unmistakable end. That's it for now.

Call Me Mrs. Miracle by Debbie Macomber is hands down, my favorite Christmas story this holiday season. I wish I would have caught the television rendition of this book. It was absolutely heartfelt, Christmassy, and full of promise and hope. Everything I was looking for in a holiday book, plus a little surprise at the end that tugged at my heart to the point where I was reaching for the tissues but smiling at the same time.
In this story we meet Jake Finley, who works for his father in their family owned department toy store in New York. The holidays for Jake and his dad are simply about turning a profit for their stores, which has been the case since Jake lost his mom and sister in a tragic accident on Christmas Eve many years ago. This season, Jake makes a bold buying decision for the business, and it’ll take nothing short of a miracle to see his risk pay off.
Holly Larson is in desperate needs of a miracle of her own. She’s struggling this Christmas season to make ends meet as she takes on full guardianship responsibilities over her little nephew while her brother serves in Afghanistan. She wants nothing more than to earn a holiday bonus, so she can fulfill her nephew’s Christmas wish that she heard him share with Santa.
When Jake and Holly cross paths with the help of Mrs. Miracle, a Finley toy store employee, the season proves to deliver everything the magic of Christmas has to offer.
I loved the characters in this story to infinite degrees. As much as I predicted a few of the outcomes, I couldn’t help but smile as the story unfolds and the book delivers a sweet reminder of what this season truly is about. I’ll be sure to keep Debbie Macomber on my reading list for many Christmases to come. Beautiful and full of heart.

This is a clean christmas romance, and this is the 8th book in the Angelic Intervention series. I enjoyed this book, but it is not my favorite Christmas book that Debbie Macomber. The storyline was good, and this series with Mrs. Miracle is cute and as great messages in them. I just enjoyed more of cute and sweet Christmas romance books. The characters in this book was ok. (*)

Holly doesn’t earn a lot of money but she’s determined to make it a great Christmas for Gabe and that includes buying him the one toy he’s ask for, a toy robot that’s all rage this year. Befriending Jake Finley, the owner’s son, he agrees to hold the robot until Christmas Eve when Holly will have enough money to pay for it. Jake knows that Holly is skipping and scrimping on meals to afford the robot and becomes smitten with her.
Of course Mrs Miracle does her usual intervention, pushing to two together, healing wounds of the Finleys and more. Who doesn’t love a little Angel intervention during the holiday season?
My favorite to date. A bit emotional at the end brought a few happy tears. So sweet and beautiful even as I smiled and admired Holly throughout for her clear love of Gabe. Definitely not one of the Angel stories miss.

I put a hold on this in Overdrive while I was in the mood to read Christmas books. And it was after I'd watched it on television over Thanksgiving. The best thing I can say about it was that it was a quick read.
The television movie was better.
The movie changed some key details. For the curious, instead of the male lead being all 'we shouldn't get the Intellytron robot' and being vindicated when it's recalled, the male lead in the book is all 'I bought us 500 Intellytrons against the advice of our buyer' and is vindicated when it's the hot toy of the season. The movie version is more 'wholesome' of course, right? Return to traditional values, when train sets were the epitome of ultracool. Or something.
The book is.. how can people read this stuff on an regular basis? Every single word or action is explained in the prose. A character can't say hi without Macomber telling us why he said hi. She has absolutely no faith in the reader being able to figure out what her characters think and why they do and say the things they do. This is even taken to the extreme of repetition. Just in case we ever FORGET that the male lead and his dad don't celebrate Christmas because wife/mother and daughter/sister were killed in a car accident on Christmas decades ago.
The only obstacle to the romance in the story seems to be that he's rich and she's not. Cliche, much? They don't even seem to resolve it particularly. She just sort of has to get over the fact that he's rich and is a nice guy, akshully.
I can't like Mrs. Miracle either. Whatever she is. I'm still guessing she's an angel. The movie and the book never make that particularly clear. She's a busybody and knowitall. And nobody finds this at all annoying or creepy. Old ladies can get away with anything, apparently.
And I cannot end the review without mentioning the recipes! Random, much? Who the heck needs a sugar cookie recipe? And if you did need one, why would you turn to the middle of a fiction book to find one? Or are you reading along and are like.. 'oo, sugar cookies. Awesome idea. I wish I had a recipe!' Even more random, there's a recipe for fried chicken. Because she couldn't afford turkey?! Umm...
No idea why the female lead is so poor. She has a fulltime job and she's caring for her brother's kid, while he's over in Afghanistan. I know soldiers aren't paid much, but he has no expenses! Surely a two-income family can support two people. Granted they're living in NYC, but still..
And if she is so poor, then I can't understand her motivation for wanting to buy the kid a 300$ robot that he's just going to tire of or break within a month. He's like.. 8.
Oh, speaking of, the kid acts younger than 8. Or was it 9? He seemed too young to me.
Oh! And the gender stuff. Kid's all.. I don't want to make cookies, that's girl stuff. I don't want to put the seat down on the toilet, it's so weird living with a girl. And.. something else. And the only one who says anything about his stupid gender ideas is Mrs. Miracle, who points out that men cook and he should watch the Food Network. Why couldn't his aunt point this out at the time he said it?
Finally, there are quotes at the start of each chapter. Some of them I thought were kind of amusing. But then they got.... bizarre. And downright creepy.
'Be ye fishers of men. You catch 'em and God'll clean 'em. --- Mrs. Miracle'"
Think about that for just one second.

Will not be running out to read any more Macombers, I shall tell you that.

Call Me Mrs. Miracle is an absolutely delightful Christmas romance book!
Emily Merkle is mistakenly called Emily Miracle, and takes on the name Mrs. Miracle. She's an older woman who does wondrous work at the toy store she got hired at. Jake is her boss, and he's ordered what seems like WAY too many toy robots that his father, the owner, is not too pleased about. He meets Holly Larson, a woman taking care of her nephew since his Mother has passed and his Father (her brother) is in Afghanistan. Gabe, her adorable nephew, really wants one of those robots. She might be in luck, since her and Jake meet and he's more than happy to set one aside for her. Will there be a Christmas miracle?
This book is so utterly cute! It's the perfect book to curl up with a blanket and some tea and just sink into. It's full of Christmas spirit and packed tight full of ooey gooey romance. It is predictable, especially since this turned into a Hallmark movie, but it's everything I wanted and more in a Christmas romance book. It's sugary sweet and just fun.
Four out of five stars.

I watch a ton of heart-expanding holiday movies around Christmastime (yes, late October counts as Christmas season), but I never read something that would put me in the giving, lovey-dovey mood. I consider myself a cranky book Grinch anyways, so I eye-rolled thinking about a book I knew would probably have a happy ending. To my Grinchy shock, “Call Me Mrs. Miracle” turned out to be the literary equivalent of baking sugar cookies in my heart. I’m suddenly buying a turkey for Tiny Tim and handing out presents to the Hoos in Whoville. So is this worth the read before the Hallmark TV movie comes out this November? Oh yeah. It is.
Debbie Macomber isn’t trying to make a superb psychological mystery here, you can easily predict what is going to happen as far as plot goes. Even the mystery of kindly old woman Mrs. Miracle did not trick me, this wasn’t like watching “Inception” or what have you. But “Call Me Mrs. Miracle” does succeed in an incredibly smooth and well-written style that makes you feel the warm fuzzies as you read. Sort of like figuring out your Christmas presents ahead of time; you still want those gosh darn presents. The characters are not especially complex and holiday corniness abounds, but by some “miracle” this book succeeds. I was even amazed to find three plot-related recipes scattered in the book, it floored me with sincerity and a weird kind of charm. I am literally going to be making the “sugar cookie” recipe this week.
With a bit of a religious feel and a fantastically sweet plot resolution at the end, this is a book I’m absolutely recommending to my mom. For anyone, guy or girl, who does Christmas shopping, decorating, baking, etc., it will definitely pump you up and put you in the “mood”. “Call Me Mrs. Miracle” will also appear on the Hallmark channel on November 27th, so I recommend become an expert on the story so your heart won’t explode with joy during the movie.

Once again, Debbie Macomber delivers in this delightful Christmas tale that takes us back to what it was like as a child and the deep longing for that really special Christmas gift.
Gabe’s mom had passed away years ago. His dad, Mickey, was doing his best raising him with some help from his parents. However, after the devastating earthquake in Haiti, his parents decided that their retirement would be best spent volunteering over there. Then unexpectedly, Mickey’s national guard unit was called back to Afghanistan. Mickey had no one else, so he asked his sister, Holly, to watch over Gabe while he was gone.
Holly knew next to nothing when it came to children. Her ex-boyfriend Bill’s words kept echoing through her head about how she was not mother material. This made her panic.

I heard that they made this one into a movie for the Hallmark Channel. I wanted to make sure that I read it before watching it. Now I can’t wait to see the movie. I am sure that its going to be as great as the book.
Gabe’s mom had passed away years ago. His dad, Mickey, was doing his best raising him with some help from his parents. However, after the devastating earthquake in Haiti, his parents decided that their retirement would be best spent volunteering over there. Then unexpectedly, Mickey’s national guard unit was called back to Afghanistan. Mickey had no one else, so he asked his sister, Holly, to watch over Gabe while he was gone.
Holly knew next to nothing when it came to children. Her ex-boyfriend Bill’s words kept echoing through her head about how she was not mother material. This made her panic.

Yes, I think Debbie Macomber has found a new fan. This is my second Debbie Macomber novel of the month and ever read. I truly do enjoy her writing and Call Me Mrs. Miracle has ended up meeting my expectations! I did not realize till today that some may call her books Christian books as well. If that is the case, I am actually more than okay with this one. They don't read as Christian books, and they do not sound at all preachy. All they are to me is wonderful, magical, yet simplistic writing with heart-warming story-lines of clean romance.
I did not realize this was an eight book in the series, but it reads as a stand-alone so it does not feel like you just walked in on a movie in the middle of it. I have heard of Mrs.Miracle books and have actually seen the first movie on Hallmark a couple of days ago, well at least the second half of it anyway. It was Thankgiving day and not much time to watch anything.
anyway in Call Me Mrs. Miracle, Emily Merkle is working at the department store in a toy section. Jake Finley, the owners son took a huge gamble when he ordered hundred of toy robots that are over $200 each in a very bad economy. Jake truly believes that the toy robots are going to be the hottest item this season, but when he only sells a couple on Black Friday, he is going to need a miracle to sell the rest.
Holly Larson is taking care of her nephew, who's father is a soldier and currently away. So it will be another Christmas that the little boy will be spending without his father. It's bad enough that Holly has financial problems and connection with the boy when on top of it all he also wants the expensive robot for Christmas.
With Emily Merkle to the rescue, it will be the Christmas to remember for the both of them.
Loved the story, it was so wonderful. I loved the connection between Holly and Jake. Thought kind of instant there was something about it that was believable. I enjoyed watching the romance blossom between the two. Jake has had a terrible Christmas past when his mother and sister died on Christmas day in a car accident and now him and his father don't even celebrate. It was so sweet seeing how Holly bought the spirit of Christmas back in to Finley household.
The toy store seemed to be a wonderful additional setting to the Christmas holiday feel of this book. Plus there is something about the character's and their actions that really touches my heart. I am looking forward to my next read from Macomber and have already borrowed one from the library!

"Aspire to inspire before you expire" Mrs. Miracle
Emily Merkle (call me Mrs. Miracle) is working at the Finley Department store in the toy section. It's a family run store and Emily's boss is the owner's son Jake Finley.
Jake lost his mother and sister on Christmas Eve when their cab hit another car, since then his father and him have been doing there best to forget that Christmas ever existed. They always take a vacation through Christmas, the only realistic part of Christmas for them is they they know that they will make a killing on toys because of the season.
Holly is struggling this year, her brother had to go to Afghanistan and she was the only one able to take care of his eight year old son, Gabe. Her parents are out the country also so she is feeling a little bit alone. At first its a little touch and go with her and her nephew, but things are starting to get better.
When Jake and Holly meet at a coffee shop it just seemed fated that they would meet again later at Finley's department store. At the store is where Gabe tells Holly what he wants for Christmas, a Intelltron Robot. The only problem is, is the cost, Two Hundred and Fifty dollars.
Mrs. Miracles on a mission to put Jake and Holly together because they are a great match. She is always encouraging them to do things together. She also has some things in store for some of the other characters as well as she pulls together what she told Gabe, 'Would be the best Christmas ever.'
The only words I can think of to describe Call Me Mrs. Miracle is, delightful, funny, and inspirational. This is my first book by Debbie Macomber, but it won't be the last. Last year I watched a delightful movie on TV around Christmas time called Mr. Miracle so when I seen that Debbie Macomber had a new Mrs. Miracle book out I jumped at a chance to review it.
The author has a great way of blending great characters with a sweet storyline. You just fall in love with all the characters and you just get that great feeling at the end when its over but there is also that sadness because its over.
Its a romance story but it has so much more too it. I would really call it a light romance and one of the things I love about it is the fact that it has no sex scenes at all in the book. Its not written as a inspirational book yet I could with out a doubt tell my Christian friends that it would be a great book for them to read for the Christmas holidays. I would most definitely recommend this book to anyone! Its a great light read.

When Holly Larson’s widowed brother is called up by the National Guard and sent to Afghanistan, she quickly agrees to let his eight year old son Gabe live with her. Money is tight but she is saving every bit she can to get Gabe the toy robot he so badly wants. She loves Christmas, unlike Jake Finley and his father, owner of Finley’s Department Store, who no longer celebrate Christmas after a tragedy. When Holly and Jake meet sparks fly – but Holly and Jake still need a miracle – Mrs. Miracle that is.
“Call Me Mrs. Miracle” is a sequel to Debbie Macomber’s “Mrs. Miracle” and is an even more delightful read than the original. I was a little bit nervous about reading it because Macomber wrote it knowing it was going to be a movie and the producers wanted “the story to be the same…only different”, but Macomber was up to the challenge and has come up with a book that is perfect for the holiday season and is bound to keep readers smiling. (Yes, there was some sadness in Jake’s background story but even that has a “happy” ending.) Macomber’s decision to have Finley’s Department Store be located on 34th Street is an inspired one that adds a lot of charm to the story. The romance between Holly and Jake is very sweet, very cute, and just a bit magical. Gabe is a typical Macomber child – very good, although not above getting in a little bit of trouble (not on purpose) who is adjusting to the death of his mother and his father being away. Mrs. Miracle is one of my all time favorite Macomber characters (who now sounds just like Doris Roberts in my head) and it was nice to read another book about her – I’m crossing my fingers it becomes an annual tradition, much like the Cedar Cove books, to have a Mrs. Miracle book to read at Christmas (and maybe her friends Shirley, Goodness and Mercy could visit her). As an added bonus for her fans, Macomber includes some recipes from Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove Cookbook (the fried chicken recipe sounds yummy).

#TBR Challenge
In the 2013 re-issue of Debbie Macomber’s Call Me Mrs. Miracle was a bonus story: The Christmas Basket. I loved it—it had all the hallmarks *cough cough* of a Macomber Christmas story—an involving plot, likeable families, and a gentle reminder of what the Christmas season really means.
All of this wrapped up in a separated for a looooooong time couple—Noelle (born on Christmas Day) McDowell and Thomas Sutton had a Romeo and Juliet love affair ten years ago. The Shakespearean twist because their mothers have “been locked in a bitter feud for decades.” Everything conspires to make this Christmas one of forgiveness, reconciliation, and love. Noelle comes back to town for the first time in years. Who should be on her plane but Thom. They have a meet-not-so-cute on the plane.
“I barely know this man.” Noelle wanted her fellow passengers to hear the truth. “I once thought I did, but I was wrong,” she explained, walking backward toward the exit.
“Whatever,” the guy behind them said loudly.
“You’re a fine one to talk,” Thom said. His eyes were as dark and cold as those of the snowman they’d built in Lions’ Park their senior year of high school—like glittering chips of coal.
“You have your nerve,” she muttered, whirling around just in time to avoid crashing into the open cockpit. She smiled sweetly at the pilot. “Thank you for a most pleasant flight.”
While they get reacquainted, their warring mothers are forced to work together to produce overflowing Christmas baskets to be distributed by the Salvation Army. All ends happily! It would be great to see Hallmark turn this into one of their enjoyable Christmas movies.

Mrs Miracle, who is she? Where did she come from? She seems to know exactly what people are thinking and need. Jake Finley is the heir to Finley Department Store and has purchased a large sum of robots to sell in the store, in the toy department where he is head. However he went against the advice of the buyer for the store. His dad thinks this was a big mistake and doesn't hide is feelings that Jake is going to fall flat on his face. However Mrs. Miracle has other plans for Jake, including maybe a romance with Holly.
Holly is temporarily taking care of her nephew while her brother is overseas with the armed forces. It has been a difficult transition for both of them but they are starting to come to understand one another and get on. With Christmas coming shortly Holly is trying to save money to buy Gabe the robot he wants.
When Holly and Jake bump into each other again and again, a romance buds. Christmas is not a good time for Jake and J.R. This was the perfect book to read on Christmas Eve!
Debbie Macomber has a knack for creating characters and stories that warm your heart. I seriously haven't read a book like this that manages to give me butterflies and make me feel all warm inside for a long time.
"Call me Mrs. Miracle" is like a modern day fairytale for adults. It gives you hope, warms your heart, and manages to awaken the Christmas spirit that you may have forgotten since your childhood. I have nothing but good things to say about this novel, and I will definitely recommend it to others in the future!
Although the writing and prose is simplistic, it does not distract from the plot. The characters were all likable and relatable, and gave me faith to believe in the good in people.
I am not an extremely religious person, but this novel manages to awaken faith inside of me. Definitely a feel good novel.
This is a book that you must read during the holiday season!

Unbelievably sappy and yet good enough I couldn't stop reading! Even made me tear up. It was a good story. That's the mark of a great author. She can take something predictable and basic and turn it into something that makes you keep turning the pages even though you know what's going to happen. Hats off to Debbie Macomber -- and now I have to read more of her work since this was my first.

After a family tragedy steals Jake's Christmas spirit two decades ago, it's finally restored after meeting Holly, her nephew, Gabe, and Mrs. Emily Miracle.
This was such a sweet, magical read perfect for the busy holiday season. I imagine it would warm even the Scroogiest, Grinchiest of hearts. Mrs. Miracle's character was a bit like mixing Mary Poppins with Mrs. Doubtfire, and I appreciated that the maker of Christmas miracles was female this time instead of Santa always getting all of the credit. She was hilarious, and the story itself feels very Charles Dickens-ish. The ending brought tears to my eyes.

This is my second Debbie Macomber book and I must say I enjoy her work. Her books are so catching and addicting. I actually stayed up till 2 am to finish reading this book which I was only half way. I enjoy a book where the author pulls you in and has you rooting for the main character. And that's what I caught myself doing in this lovely romance novel.
Holly was going through the roughest time of her life. She took in her nephew Gabe, into her home becoming his guardian while his father, her brother, was drafted back to Afghanistan. Her new position in life was now becoming harder financially. And now Christmas was right around the corner and she prided herself in getting Gabe what he wanted most for Christmas, a toy robot from Finley's Toy Store. She felt he deserved it.
There is where she meets Jake.
What would you call bumping into the same gorgeous guy in more than one place in the same day? Is it fate or coincidence? That's what kept happening to Holly with Jake Finley. They bumped into one another at Starbucks and then at the toy store in which Gabe keeps insisting on going time and time again. Jake and Holly's friendship kept progressing, but little did they know this friendship of theirs was a work of "miracle" and they were meant to be there for one another through difficult times and more.
This is a really good book! I love when I grab a book and can't put it down! Of course I lose hours of sleep, but who needs sleep? Sleep is over-rated! 5 stars out of 5 and a definite Good Choice for Reading!

I may be one of the last people on the planet to have not heard of the author Debbie Macomber before reading this book. She’s written a lot of bestseller books and I can see why. While this isn’t usually the type of book I would read (I lean towards a lot of paranormal books), I thought I would give it a go as the storyline was appealing to me and I’m happy I did so.
The story is uplifting overall, even though there were a couple of scenes that had my eyes watering. The characters within the book are all written so well that they seem like people I know personally. All of the locations used within the story are described just enough that I can imagine them as places I’ve already been and already know as well. The writing style had me flying through the book, not wanting to put it down, and not realizing the time that went by as I was reading.
It’s a perfect holiday story, so perfect in fact that Hallmark is making a movie out of it. Apparently there was another book previous to this one called Mrs. Miracle that was also made into a movie. Call Me Mrs. Miracle is set to air on November 27, 2010 and I plan on watching it since I enjoyed the book so much. (I’m hoping that they will be replaying Mrs. Miracle as well as I am sure I will enjoy it as well.)

All of the locations used within the story are described just enough that I can imagine them as places I’ve already been and already know as well. The writing style had me flying through the book, not wanting to put it down, and not realizing the time that went by as I was reading.
It’s a perfect holiday story, so perfect in fact that Hallmark is making a movie out of it. Apparently there was another book previous to this one called Mrs. Miracle that was also made into a movie. Call Me Mrs. Miracle is set to air on November 27, 2010 and I plan on watching it since I enjoyed the book so much. (I’m hoping that they will be replaying Mrs. Miracle as well as I am sure I will enjoy it as well.)

This Christmas, Emily Merkle (call her Mrs. Miracle!) is working in the toy department at Finley's, the last family-owned department store in New York City. And her boss is none other than…Jake Finley, the owner's son.
For Jake, holiday memories of brightly wrapped gifts, decorated trees and family were destroyed in a Christmas Eve tragedy years before. Now Christmas means just one thing to him—and to his father. Profit. Because they need a Christmas miracle to keep the business afloat.

It costs two hundred and fifty dollars. Holly knows it will be tough but if she saves up every penny she could get the robot for Gabe. Will Holly’s Christmas wish cone true as well this year?

Jake is the heir of Finley’s department store. He is currently managing the toy department at his father’s insistence and is now currently under hot water for ordering 500 robots based on a gut feeling.
