This was my first Drake novella and though I loved reading about Duncan, it wasn't enough! I really wish Harvey would be able to publish one more book, a reeeaaallllly long one, that combined all of the brothers who still need to have their stories told.

Though Nick is my favorite brother, Duncan would've given him a run for his money, I mean, the boy's hot and antisocial?! And while we didn't get to spend enough time with Sky, I liked her a lot. Same goes for Miranda.

One thing that was a major gaffe was the fact that, though Duncan was born in 1988 and changed in 2004, Sky tells Miranda he's twenty. Now, I got a B in math in college buuuut...

Sound and Fury was way too short and while I know the other novellas are a bit longer, they won't be long enough for me! Still, I think any Drake Chronicles fan will devour and love this addition to the series.

This is a short story that can be found at the end of the last book of the series, Blood Prophecy , but the event actually happened behind the scenes, between the end of Blood Moon and the start of Blood Prophecy. It featured the romance of another of the Drake brothers, Duncan Drake. I had always thought the series should have continued with the tradition of featuring the romance of a Drake brother in each book, but having it in this short story was nice too.
This story is short and cute, but also packed a lot of action. The whole way, Sky and Duncan were fighting and escaping from Furies and Hel-Blar, all the while babysitting the human kid Sky's vampire family had adopted. Miranda was really cute with her humongous crush on Duncan.
Since it is a short story, things moved pretty fast, especially the romance. After fighting a few fights together, Duncan, (spoilers:)who was on an adrenaline high, kissed Sky without much preamble. They did not define their relationship after the kiss, but by the first quarter of Blood Prophecy they were definitely together, as (more spoilers:)Sky told Lucy she was Duncan's girlfriend, then Lucy made fun of Duncan about it afterwards. It is quite a pity that this is only a short story, as I would have loved to know more of how their romance story developed.

(For some reason, my end is only showing a 1 star rating even though I'm trying to rate this story at 4 stars. So please note this is a 4 star review.) I got an awesome surprise when I started reading this story and found out that Duncan was going to get a love interest/story after all. I had been so bummed ever since I read an interview with Alyxandra Harvey where she said not every brother was going to get a book. I loved the Drake family and wanted every brother to get his happily ever after. As I came to know more about both Duncan and Sky, I thought they were perfect for each other! Their story was also quite exciting as Sky helped Duncan fight off the evil Furies that want to destroy the Drake family. However, this story was definitely too short. I thought the story was just getting started and going somewhere when it ended. I was quite disappointed but I enjoyed the short story just the same.

See! This is what I wanted for the next book in the main series, a story focusing on another brother. I like Sky and do hope we see more of her. Duncan though has always intrigued me and im glad he got his own story, even if it was a pitiful short story. Miranda is interesting, how was she allowed at camp given that she is human and there is no way Oliver would let anyone use her as a ||bloodslave||. I really hope we hear more of the characters in this book but I suspect not. I suspect if there was more of this story it may have qualified for 5 stars but with the miniscule snippet we recieved I can only give it 4 stars.

Duncan's and Sky were really cute, but the story was way to short. Need more.

Sound and Fury Summary:
Sound is a short story and an e-novella, but it can also be found on the back of Blood Prophecy. It is told by Duncan Drake and Sky. They are both vampires and they meet at the blood camp. This book takes place right after Solange is made Queen of the vampires, and the Drake family is escaping.

Sky has had her eye on Duncan Drake throughout the Blood Moon gathering. So when they find themselves isolated in the woods and attacked by the three Furies, she's in danger of losing more than her life - her heart is at stake...

Sound and Fury Review:
This book was really short, only 30 pages, so I felt that there could have been more of a story to it. Overall the book was good, and I liked Alyxandra added another character to the book that wasn't the most important character to the whole series and to the whole plot line. She`s a whole new character actually but she does make an appearance in Blood Prophecy. Also we got to see the thoughts of another Drake who doesn't make that many appearances. I would have liked this book to have a cover but since it`s on the back of Blood Prophecy it doesn't get one. This book like the others had action and romance in it, but it was a good mixture and balanced each other out. This gives you an idea of what happened to the furies which was interesting and you saw Duncan`s personality, more than just being really quite and a mechanic geek.Good book, unfortunately it is most likely the last short story unless Harvey can get a Lucy Spin Off! Fingers crossed.

Overall 5 stars!

One of my biggest regrets of the series is how little of Duncan we actually see. I know it's his personality but I've been paying particular attention throughout the books to when he does join the conversation, he's always been the brother harbouring the most mystery while also having the genetic Drake wit I adore. Sebastian and Marcus's personality shine through being that Sebastian is most like his diplomatic father and Marcus is the next Uncle Geoffrey, basically. This two don't really trigger my curiosity. But Duncan did, and bloody hell did he deliver. It was very smart how Alyxandra Harvey told his story through a short story because with a full blown novel, many readers - possibly me included - would tire quite quickly of his antisocial ways. Sky's a black girl and the first we've seen too, I think. Mind you I myself am black, so I'm not really being rasict by stating our colour. Miranda was very entertaining and Duncan was sweet to treat her so nicely. Sky's painting thing was interesting, but was intrigued me further was her lack of interest in combat which is very unlike the generic vampire. It made her seem more girly in my eyes and while I'm not particularly girly, I can appreciate it. I enjoyed it and it satisfied my Drake brother craving for the short time it lasted. Still gutted. I also loved Helena's chastisement; it made me chuckle.

The Sound and Fury novella is included in the UK paperback of Blood Prophecy as an added extra. This story fits into the time line just before Blood Prophecy starts and gives Solange's older brother Duncan his chance to shine. It's a fairly short story at around 30 pages but it was action packed and hinted at a future romance between Duncan and new vampire Sky. It's a cute little story and it was nice to get to know Duncan a little better. I really wish we'd been able to spend more time with him and some of the other older Drake brothers throughout the series so I'm hoping that Alyxandra Harvey will revisit them in the future either as part of a spin off series or just through a series of novellas.

I want to start by saying I love the characters in this series. I was excited to have even a short story dedicated to another Drake brother, this one follows the third brother, Duncan. It picks up directly after Blood Moon, when Solange bans her family from the encampment. Duncan is a silent, sexy force of mechanical hotness, and I don't mean he's a robot, I mean he's the epitome of the strong, silent type and he works with his hands. HOT. However, I kind of found this pointless. It was incredibly short, a mere 32 1/2 pages, there wasn't time to explore Duncan or his kindling romance with another vampire, Sky. I'm still giving it four stars because I love these guys so much, but I definitely wish Alyxandra Harvey would've given us more on this one!

I liked this short story which was at the end of my copy of Blood Prophecy. It was nice to see a bit more of the mysterious Duncan. The fight scenes were good and the characters were all interesting.

However for me there was a glaring error. Sky is watching the coronation of Helena at the Blood Moon and mentions that beside her were the seven Drake brothers. That isn't possible as Nicholas was missing, being held hostage in the cave at the time so there should have been six brothers at the ceremony. Nicholas being missing was the excuse for Solange to take the throne from her mother at the coronation. We know this from Blood Moon(book 5)So this kind of error was pretty annoying!

This novella never gets old, ugh it's sad that we won't be able to explore Duncan's character more. From the slight glimpse that we got from him, I couldn't help but fall in love with him. This novella was definitely my favorite of all time.

Sky was definitely cool and kind of different, I loved that she was a painter and saw everything in colors. I didn't fall in love with her like I did with Duncan, but I see the potential in her character, I mostly just loved that she was in the Shakespeare tribe.

This is found in the back of the print version of ‘Blood prophecy’. It’s a short story of events following Solange’s coup at the end of Blood Moon as seen through the eyes of Sky and Duncan. They have to work together escaping with Sky’s human ‘sister’ from the Furies and start to discover an attraction.

It’s interesting to see something about other families of vamps other than the Drakes.

This was a super short, little encounter between Duncan Drake and another vampire named Skye. This story takes place during the previous book right after Solange takes the crown and Viola completely takes over her body. It's just a brief, head over heels encounter between the two of them that starts them on their journey together.
