I am a true romantic at heart and with a modern contemporary erotic twist to my romance novels, you had better fasten your seat belt, as the ride is always fun, exciting and fiery. Living in Las Vegas, but a mid-westerner at heart, I find plenty of inspiration for my books in my own exciting life. I have always loved the arts and as a young girl, I took dance classes and spent the summers reading books from the local library. Fascinated with the written word and its power to guide the imagination, I started writing short stories and later took Creative Writing classes in college. I graduated from The University of Iowa with a B.A. in Journalism and an M.A. in Higher Education. I also have a Teaching Credential from Chapman University in Southern California.
I would love to hear your thoughts on the novel. You can email me directly at evecarterbooks@gmail.com and if you enjoyed the book, please share your excitement with other fans of women’s erotic romance. You can write a review by clicking here: Deceived Part 1 – New York
Deceived - Part 3 Chloe's Revenge (Deceived #3) by Eve Carter
Deceived- Part 3 is the final instalment in this series. Eve Carter's writing is good and the story flows so well you don't want to put it down. The entire series is easy to read and you can't helped but get hooked.
If you haven't read book 1 or 2, I would say you definitely need to go purchase them both before you read Chloe's Revenge. In the third and final book Patrick arrives in Paris and saves Chloe from being attacked by a artist she had been seeing. Patrick and Chloe have a few issues they need to work out, especially the Baroness who deceived Chloe and made her think Patrick had been seeing her also.
This book is about revenge and I would say pay back and its a great read. Of course I don't want to say to much and spoil the story for anyone.
I have rated this series a 4 star rating and would recommend that you go pick up a copy of all three books. Eva Carter has written a great trilogy, they are adult themed full of hot steamy .......romance.
Deceived Part 3 is finally released on Amazon and B&N. I'm so excited to hear what you all think about the final book in Chloe and Patrick's sexy love story. Hope you'll like it.
The author of this book so nicely provided me with an eARC . Where do I even begin about this book? I loved it! It is definitely my favorite of the series. Don’t get me wrong, each book was great, but this one was amazing. It could be because we had so much more Patrick time. He is seriously one of my favorite book boyfriends. He is hot, charming, loving and all around swoon worthy!
Who’s Patrick you ask? Well you have to read the book to find out! Start at the first book, Deceived: Part 1, New York. You won’t regret it. At this point in the series, Patrick and Chloe have had their ups and downs and odds were against them and their relationship. They have been challenged in every way possible but again and again try to prove that their love can withstand anything.
What I really loved about this story were the swoon worthy moments with Chloe and Patrick. Their love and passion oozed out of every page. They were sexy and romantic. They were lovable and adorable. I really liked that this story was different than others. I’ve read books where I found such similarities, but this one was different in it’s own right. Every book in the series were short, but I thought they had just enough to keep the reader interested. So many authors make three part books and they drag the story on, but this author wrote enough for you to get the entire story and feel like the story was complete. Although, I would not mind for a continuation of Patrick and Chloe’s story!
I really enjoyed this third book in the series. I felt that I learned so much more about Chloe and Patrick as characters and wasn’t ready for their story to end. I really enjoyed her writing style. I have read countless amounts of Adult Romance books, but have not encountered many written in this manner. There are good storytellers, and there are good writers. Eve Carter is capable of both. I felt like this was an adult book, meant for adult readers. How refreshing to read a well-written series.
I liked author Eve Carter’s Deceived Part 3 Chloe's Revenge. While filled with steamy love scenes it was also filled with romance and some suspense about what is going on with Patrick’s boss, the Baroness.
It was a pretty quick read, both because of the faster pace that it is set at and because of the overall length of the book.
I thought Chloe and Patrick were both fun characters and very much in love—even if Chloe was still clinging to her independence, it felt at times, like a shield. She has been burned in the past and I can understand her reluctance to move in with Patrick so soon. But I must say, while she kept protesting, Chloe was pretty much already living there and just going back to her place to wash clothes and stuff.
Overall I liked Deceived Part 3 Chloe's Revenge and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good erotic romance. However I think I would recommend that you read part one and two first as it would give more background about Chloe, her and Patrick’s relationship and everything going on with the Baroness.
*I received a hardcover/paperback/eBook copy/ARC of this book for free to review from the author/publisher/tour site; this in no way influenced my review, all opinions are 100% honest and my own.
With more determination to get back at the Baroness, Chloe & Patrick will do anything to get her out of the picture. Baroness is the most horrific person and so glad what happens to her. Chloe & Patrick deserve to finally be happy and to start a new adventure together. This ended perfectly and can't wait to read the next book
I loved the twists and turns in "Chloe's Revenge." I was happy to see Chloe get her act together, as well as her and Patrick working together again. I love Ryan! He adds a bit of flair to stories. I'm looking forward to wrapping my mind around the next installment of Chloe and Patrick's story.
On a last minute ask I took this review, and I am glad that I did. Although this is the third in the series, I found it focused more on characters and their interactions, so I wasn’t at a great loss having not read the first two books in the series. BUT, I do highly recommend that you read all three (and I am going to get them now) for the best flow of the story.
Chloe and Patrick are an on-again off again couple, and they are currently working to renegotiate their relationship and tie up the loose ends after her rescue. As characters, both Chloe and Patrick are adorable: created with depth and display a logically felt and defined connection that goes from cute and sweet to highly steamy and erotic at a finger snap.
This is an adult’s series, written with care and a solid sense of real-world issues: complaints about packing and picking up souvenirs are the first hint at the sense that there is something real and tangible about Chloe and Patrick. While there are liberal inclusions of sexy scenes, many are made even more sensual by the connection between the characters and their obvious enjoyment in one another.
I’d certainly recommend this book to readers, with the caveat they read the series in order.
I received an eBook copy from the author for purpose of honest review for Full Moon Bites blog tours. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.
We finally reach the end of the journey for Chloe, Patrick and the Baroness. If you have not read Deceived Parts 1 & 2, pick them up first. They are an integral part of understanding the associations and resolution depicted in Part 3. Chloe and Patrick navigate the resumption of their relationship and deal with the fallout from crossing the Baroness and Chloe’s adventures in Paris. I love the way the author describes the environment using all your senses. I feel like I am a part of the story except I’m cheated out of the hot steamy sex with Patrick! LOL! The characters are further developed in this story, the plot line is intriguing and keeps you turning the page to see what happens next. And the sex!! Whew! Keep a fan close by, some ice water or better yet, a loved one to blow off some of the steam generated! I loved the interplay between Patrick and Chloe and also Chloe and her roommate Andrea (who is clueless and hysterical). The ending ramped up the tension and was not something I saw coming. Love those types of story lines!! The author has created a trilogy that is well worth your time. Two thumbs up!
I was disappointed with this book - it felt very week plot wise and found myself cringing on some of the writing.
It felt very amateurish and I laughed out loud at some of the descriptions "the bubbles in the pale golden champagne rose to the rim of the stemmed glass like a minature morse code" "I was driven and my fingers clattered succinctly across the keyboard, like Mexican jumping beans" "the remainder of the afternoon was filled with writhing, arching and thrusting, as the heat index of the room rose to a sweaty crescendo and we released our deeply felt passion for each other, burning the sheets of the bed with our fire filled lovemaking"
In places it felt to Mills and Boon - I am a more gritty Kristen Ashley Fan
It was not my cup of tea - different horses for different courses and all that
I am currently reading fighting for flight by J Salsbury - I am hooked within minutes - unfortunately this book did not do it for me
OK so here is my over all opinion of this book....while it was a fun easy read, it's not a series I will read again (and sometimes I read a series two or three times). Surprisingly, even with all it grammatical errors book 2 was my favorite, by the end of it I was dying to know what was going to go down next. I did love at the end of the third book how Chloe gave Anna a taste of her own medicine and grew balls to put the witch in her place. By the time I was done with the last book, I still felt a little something was missing throughout the entire series, but as I said in my first review I can't quiet put my finger on it. I give the series 4 stars because, it wasn't horrible and it wasn't great. I would recommend this for some one looking for a quick read, maybe to kill time for a few days. I will be checking out other by her though, because I have a feeling she has better books than these.
The final chapter in Chloe an Patrick's life. From the very moment of setting eyes on Chloe, the Baroness made it a point to make her life a living hell. Not just because she thought of he as an easy target but because Patrick was interested in Chloe. She tried so hard so hard to break them apart. Well, she actually did, which is why Chloe fled to Paris. But sweet Patrick was determined to no let anything get between them. Finally reunited an back in New York, they set up a plan to get the down. Although not agreeing with the tactics Ryan and Patrick used to obtain certain information ,she went along with it. How everything panned out was great! Glad Chloe and Patrick got their revenge and I enjoyed the twists and turns towards the end. Definitely took me by surprise. Everyone got what they deserved. .
Just finished it this morning. I won’t ruin the ending for this anyone reading it but it is good. This book is good old fashion loving. Lots of love making, nothing too crazy in the kink area. Straight romance. I felt in the middle of the book it got a little sluggish and I found myself reading and skimming a bit to get to the exciting part. I knew the Baroness would make here evil appearance and she didn’t disappoint. Queen B herself tries to destroy Chloe and Patrick. Anna is her own worst enemy with her narcissistic ways. Eve, the author, makes mention of doing a spin off of Jesse from the 2nd part of Deceived and yeah I’m interested because he was smoking hot in that book. I would love to know more about Elyse and Ryan. The characters are very likable and story although it dragged some points (not a lot) I genuinely liked it.
Finally wrapping up the whirlwind of Chloe and Patrick in Deceived – Part 3 I found myself really enjoying the complete overall story. However, I still honestly think this should have been one complete book.
Chloe seems very strong headed in this book and seems to let words fly out rather than just "think" them. I have grown to love her character. Patrick is just a god send and a perfect gentleman that will never let Chloe down – The perfect boyfriend. Still love Ryan; everyone needs a friend like him that is truly devoted. And last but not least Francisco; let's just say that I hope he drops the soap!
Least Favorite Character: It’s a tie between Francisco and Anna, That is kind of a given and I found myself cheering Chloe on as she dished out her revenge. Two birds, one stone.
My Favorite Moment: Had to be dinner in Hawaii. HELLO TIFFANY’S!
One thing I liked about this book is that it was a quick short read. One thing I didn't like is that it was a quick short read:) Let me explain, though. I wish there could've been a bit more dedicated to the character development. I like how the relationship between Patrick and Chloe turned out, but it seemed like it moved too fast since the beginning. I would've enjoyed getting to know a little more about them as individuals and then have them get to know each other more before diving into the relationship. That being said, I enjoyed the plot a lot more in the second book and this one, and there was a nice wrap-up to their story. I will definitely read more from Eve Carter!
I have read books 1 and 2, and now currently reading book3. this is only because im nosey, and want to see how it all ends. The writing is so bad, Chloe has the mental age of about 14, and i dont know her true age. I must appologise to Eve Carter for my bad review, because i really dont like giving bad reviews. Although book 1 was free, i really wish that i hadn't wasted my money buying 2 and 3, which i downloaded all together. But hey, lesson learned.
I have had to update this because in book 3 i have just read. "despite to erase any traces of doubt, that i might have lingering in the abcesses of my mind" abcesses really wtf.
In this final book Chloe has her man and everything seems to be going according to plan, but when it comes to Anna even the best laid plans have a way of falling apart.
Let me just do a quick overview: still love Chloe, Patrick is still swoon worthy, definitely still love Ryan, Anna still brings out the crazy urge to slam her head into a wall, and I hope Francisco has lots of fun with the soap!
This book does wrap up all the loose ends from the previous two books, but honestly with the shortness of these books I think this would have been more complete as one book.
My favorite Moment: Dinner in Hawaii. I mean really…could that have been more perfect!
When I read the first book in this trilogy, I wasn't excited about Chloe. I am happy to say that I have changed my mind with this book. Chloe becomes much more self-reliant and seems to grow up in this book. She goes to Paris to work and figure out her life. In the end of this book, she has figured things out and is well on her way to having the life she thinks she wants (I hope!). I can't wait to see how this story ends in Book #3! {babusbookshelf.blogspot.com}
I have never written a bad review because I respected the author's courage in writing a story and making themselves vulnerable but today that changed. I had to finish reading this series but it was a train wreck. I wish I could put into words how I feel about this series but I am truly speechless. I can't get back the $10 I spent and that really irritates me. I don't know what story others read but it can't be the same one. It just can't.
Finally. An Ⓕ-ing plot. I honestly don't really like her writing style, especially the silly dialogue. Somehow this series make me feels like I'm reading a fanfic wrote by a thirteen year old. I was going to ditch the book but I already got the series. And who am I to waste a book? So, yeah, I'm glad the writer finally find a plot. Even though wishing the writing improved and the story more developed.
All I'm going to say was it was Okay. Maybe i just had too high of expectations after reading the other two books in the series. I'm not saying it was a bad series, it was definitely worth the read. I just didn't find it to be as good as i wanted it to be. I just kept waiting for this wow moment to end out the series. I give it 3.5 stars
I like Eve's work, great story teller but this book was just okay. I've read the whole series and was looking forward to this book. I'm pleased with the ending but I guess I was hoping for more nasty ness pay back revenge! Hahaa or maybe that was just the mood I was in!
A little predictable but a good read all the same. Will definitely keep an eye out for more reads from Eve.
