Freels Comes Alive! marks the return of one of America's small press enigmas, Brandon Freels. His writing--abstract, painfully self-conscious, alarmingly funny, and ambitious in form--seems to inhabit a planet where things continually morph and change unannounced. Aloof parents, magnificent creatures, innocent women, and parasitic stuntmen are regular inhabitants here, as rules dissolve in the mouth of the imagination. This young author, although rarely seen in public, is an emerging beacon in today's surrealist constellation.
