The first time Kara Addison meets Maxim Volkov she’s mesmerised and attracted, but she also wants nothing to do with him. He exudes confidence and danger. Kara finds out just how dangerous when Max takes her to his home after she’s hurt and won’t let her leave.
Finding out his deceased father was the leader of the Melbourne Bratva has her fear skyrocketing and she tries to escape, but her efforts are thwarted.
Though she tries to ignore the attraction building between her and Max, all too soon the heat is so combustible they both end up going up in flames. Maxim drives her insane, blowing hot and cold and though she stands up to him, he commands with an iron fist.
Max continually tells her that she’s in danger and is trying to protect her, but she doesn’t believe him.
Kara argues with and fights him at every turn, but she can’t seem to stay out of his bed no matter how hard she tries.
There’s more going on than she realises but she finds out far too late.
*** Bratva Maxim is the first book in the Bratva Connection Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.
I have written over 100 books under the pseudonym of Becca Van and decided it was time for a change. I am now writing and self-publishing under the pseudonym of Becky Wilde under Whimsical Words Publishing.
I live in the southern state of Victoria in Australia. I have been married to my husband for almost 34 years and though we’ve had our ups and downs like any normal couple, we’re still going strong.
We have two adult children, a girl and a boy whom we love dearly.
Australia is a vast country with tropical forests, vast deserts, and sweeping plains. Due to the lack of water and vast aridity, a large part of the country is uninhabitable, and most of the population lives along the coastlines. Although Australia can be harsh, I find it to be a wonderful country.
I love my country, the changing landscapes and the friendly people.

As I am no longer writing under the pseudonym of Becca Van. I have returned to my original pseudonym of Becky Wilde.
When I told my man I wanted to self-publish he immediately started researching how to do this. I am lucky because he did an internet marketing course a while ago and thanks to his knowledge we decided to create our own publishing platform.

Bratva Connection: Maxim by Becky Wilde is an intriguing book and overall well-written. With interesting characters and an intriguing plot, this book stands out from the rest. Kara and Maxim are great characters and the plot is nice and complicated with a steady pace. Desire and tension fuel this book's narrative with lots of dangerous scenarios. A fun read and a great escape. Recommended.
As I am the Author, I think it would be a bit narcissistic for me to review my own book LOL. Please have a read and give a review. Your reviews are the lubricant that will make or break a book on all platforms. Thanks,
While working in the writing industry, I've found that some of my favorite gems are from the indie and self-published circuits, which I try to read as much of as possible. A few things stand out in this book from an editing perspective, and I struggled to connect to the plot and writing style (this could be a me issue, as Romance can be hit or miss for me), but the author's writing is creative, and you can feel the emotion and work that went into this piece. Wilde has a knack for mapping out emotionally deep characters. Even Max is complex, though distorted as his motives and emotions may be.
Kara is an incredibly likable character. She comes off as genuine and quirky, as we see early on in how she handles social interactions when her friend's cousin from Russia enters her café. Kara's quirky awkwardness, even internally, adds a layer of humanity to a fictional character, which is one of the more difficult hurdles for many authors. For Kara, things move quickly, and she finds herself in and out of danger.
I'll be the first to admit romance stories are hit or miss for me, but if you're into romance with a hint of Russian mafia, you should check this out!
Bratva Connection Maxim by Becky Wilde So many thing I like about this story. Starts out with Kara and her friend that are at the shop. A commotion and there are guns. After that Kara returns from the hospital to her apartment and find it trashed so Maxim takes her back to his house. He also has gotten the cafe fixed, her apartment he got all new furniture, clothes, everything. She's not happy about not being able to go to work nor leave. She attempts many times to escape, she feels like she’s a prisoner, she has no idea just how much danger she is in. Maxim is beside himself. He's part of the mafia and his cousin is her good friend. There are hot steamy adult scenes as the plot goes on-who wants her killed... Very descriptive scenes and details, it’s like watching a movie! Love that this is a series and can't wait to read the rest. Received this review copy from the publisher and this is my honest opinion.
A full packed entertainment This has been a fascinating read for me, as I picked it up without expecting much. But this turned out to be a full-fledged thriller-drama. The twists and turns are well drafted to keep you turning the pages. The characters of Kara Addison and Maxim Volkov are exceptionally well written. How they try not to be together, then falls in the unknown attachment trap, that seems an interesting narrative in the read. Theoretical chemistry is close to reality in the given scenario. How changing circumstances can change your heart is very well depicted here. I was deeply engrossed in this suspenseful thriller world with a blend of romance. The gradual unveiling of secrets as subplots helps in the growth of characters. The connections as well as the characters grow with each subplot, and that makes the story more grasping. It is full of entertainment.
This book is full of excitement, mystery, and love. Mia Whitlock, a brave journalist, gets herself into dangerous situations while investigating the Italian Mafia. She meets two mysterious men who change her life. Matteo Marello is a scary Mafia enforcer who draws Mia into a world of secrets. But it's Valentin Sokolov who steals Mia's heart with his protective nature.
It is an exciting story mixing romance and suspense. With its interesting plot, strong characters, and romantic moments, it's a book that fans of this genre will enjoy.
