Jaded by her bitter separation and loss of custody of her young son, Carmel is forced to return to the miserable childhood home she was so desperate to flee a decade before.
And then utter humiliation comes when she takes a cleaning job to make ends meet.
Working at the Harrington mansion is a slap in the face,
a reminder of the mess her life is in.
She can’t get lower than this…
Or can she?
Theo Harrington is nineteen, back home for the summer from his freshman year of college.
Moody and morose, he’s struggling from the tragic death of one of his friends.
Not that Carmel knows this—all she sees is an entitled lazy brat who is useless at keeping his room clean and can’t stack a dishwasher.
When a sudden and violent storm hits the town and a landslide cuts off the suburb, Capper Falls is in a state of emergency. Residents are advised to remain in their homes. Carmel is trapped in the Harrington mansion.
Only, she’s not alone.
Oh no, she’s bunkering down with Theo Harrington….
Mrs. C’s College Boy is an older woman younger man read about the cleaner and the college boy finding love.
I love reverse age gap stories and this short read was a lot better than I thought it would be. It kept my interest and actually had a plot. I'll definitely read more books from this author.
This is a quick, easy read. Carmel is going through a rough time when she meets Theo. A young man also struggling with a loss. They connect and build something.
There’s no creepy, crazy age gap. They connect and their families make it work. They are actually cute together.
2.5 stars. It's definitely insta love and I'm just not a fan of that. The writing style is good, but this story was rushed. With a plot like this, there needed to be more story. It wasn't bad overall. It was a quick and easy read , but I'm not the reader for this.
I just realized there is a theme to these stories, well there several, but each of them has at least one character has had a difficult younger earlier life. This is part of the drama. Then there is the dialogue. It’s like magic. Sign in and see if it is for you. Enjoy
