When Belle learns that her Father planned to send her younger sister off as a mail order bride, Belle knew she couldn't let that happen. Instead, she left in her sister's stead, expecting to find an older or cruel man. But what she found was a man her own age, who had a small homestead and a young son. She marries him, but as he was expecting a woman named Susie, she tells him that her younger sister was named Belle.

This was a sweet tale of two people finding love and overcoming a number of challenges and difficulties that come their way. It brings to the fore the question of whether love can be built between two people based on a lie, even if that lie was made with nothing but the best of intentions behind it.

Ms Linnington is very good at writing heartwarming tales that include a life lesson in them. Most often, those lessons involve being honest with one another, and not being afraid to tell someone what you are thinking and feeling. This one seems to be about the power of honesty and forgiveness. And even if you aren't reading Ms. Linnington's books for their life lessons, they are still very enjoyable and sweet tales that always have a happy ending, even when it looks like that might be a difficult ending to find.

I received an Advance Review Copy of this book from the author, and believe that if like me, you enjoy mail-order bride stories, western romances, historical fiction, or have enjoyed any of Ms. Linnington's other books, then I am sure that you'll enjoy this one too.

Daniel and his bride

This story was good, but a little repetitive and drawn out for a good portion of the book. There is a bedroom scene, but nothing graphic.

My main issue was that it is described as a Christian book, but there is only one mention of God, and it’s towards the end. Several places, Daniel speaks of how he found “faith” by going to church, but not once was the name Jesus mentioned.

I found this book to be rather annoying. I normally enjoy books by Florence Linnington. But this was repeats itself a lot. As for the child in the story, he needed to be turned over somebody's knee. He was portrayed as, If I can say, a brat. Talked back to people, threw a fit if he didn't get his way, parents had to ask his permission if he would want to do something....... etc....etc.....

It got too ridiculous to continue reading.

Way too much repeating, second guessing, self doubt and despair. No story, no plot, very few characters and a spoilt brat. I quit reading it before I was halfway through.

Valued

How refreshing to find book built on a foundation of values. It would be encouraging to live in a society that followed those same principles!

Forgiveness is a good thing!
When all is lost, believe in the people around you, not the past. This was a Feel Good, Get passed the past story. Kinda of meek, kind of wrong heroine finds love.

Sweet story

I enjoyed this book. A quick read, but had so many emotions nap moments, I kept remembering it off and on for the next little bit. Made for a good read!
