At school drew Anike Hage, the first contact with manga they had through the series Sailor Moon. In 2003 she took part in the first manga talent competition of the Leipzig Book Fair, but was not accepted. In 2004 she won with her contribution Turn Back the second place in the category "history from 16 years". She then received by the organizers commissioned to design the main theme of the contest for the year 2005, together with the Offer, as jury member of the manga talents of 2005 a say. In the same year Anike Hage from Tokyopop was signed, and in early 2005 they released their first professional job inspiration in the anthology "Manga fever". In 2005 she received her high school diploma.
At the Games Convention 2005 in Leipzig, she designed unique Nintendo DS in the manga look, which were auctioned in cooperation with ebay for a charitable purpose.
In November 2005 the artist recorded for the Danish television station TV2 designs for a commercial that was advertising the participation of the Danish women's handball national team at the World Handball Championship in St. Petersburg. Addition resulted in a 24-page book, which included a longer version of the script.
Since 2006 Anike Hage the series published by Tokyopop Gothic Sports, of the five volumes have been published so far. Gothic Sports appears except in Germany and in France, Spain, Japan and the United States and was founded in 2007 with the Special Man comic book price of the Frankfurt Book Fair in the category "Manga's own publication (national)" award and nominated for the International Manga Award in 2007. The cloud appeared in 2008 with a drawn Anike Hage adaptation of the eponymous novel by Gudrun Pausewang. In the fall of 2010, moved the Tokyopop comic.
WOW! I am SUPER impressed! This was such a great volume! It's unfortunate this is the last volume of the series printed in English because I would have loved to see what happens in the next two volumes.
This volume was very solid and gave a clear and solid storyline that was not only engaging, but interesting. Delia was/is a fantastic coach and I was very fascinated by her backstory. It's obvious she cares for these students and hope that in the end, they were successful.
The art continued to get better and better! The panels felt and looked cleaner to me and overall enjoyed the art a lot more.
I think the only character I wasn't fond of is the girl who keeps talking to Leon. I'm not sure if she genuinely likes him or is just genuinely wants to help with his "relationship" concerning Anya.
There were some good quotes in here about not judging people by appearances and how there is more to what we see. Seeing that glimpse into Delia and a certain character was really powerful!
While last volume I was bummed that I felt the story didn't flow and such, I'm bummed this is it for this series. I feel it was a strong third volume and very unfortunate I won't know what happens next. Them coming together as a team was fantastic!
Overall Rating: A+ Synopsis: It's a classic tale of girl goes to new elite high school. Girl then wants to join mostly boys soccer team before tournament. Drama ensues. Girl decides to form her own team. Only a couple of her friends want to join. Girl decides to make team more interesting. Fortunately, one of her friends is a gothic lolita. Hrm... Hilarity and cute uniforms ensue. Boys join and whine about skirts. Boys uniforms are made. Team has to prove itself against aforementioned soccer team. Dun Dunnn DUNNNN!
I read the back of Gothic Sports and had to pick it up. I'm not a big sports guy, but when I read the sentence "Say hello to the world's first Gothic-Lolita soccer team!", I knew I had to check it out. I wasn't disappointed.
The manga follows Anya, the new girl at Lucrece High School, who wants to join one of their elite sports teams before a big tournament. She meets some other misfits, including the gothic lolita character I mentioned above, develops a rival, and there is a mysterious boy from her past. It isn't explained in the first volume, but apparently the cute, and mysterious Leon did something to really piss Anya off in elementary school and she still holds a grudge.
So, not only is there the pretty fucking awesome concept of gothic lolita soccer, but there are healthy doses of drama and hilarity. A fun manga for when you aren't in the mood for action or anything intense.

Was noch?
SIGH, zwei Bände und dann ist die Reihe abgeschlossen.
Anya's quest to start the world's first Gothic-Lolita soccer team has been given the official OK by the school principal! Her teammates are all excited, but when summer vacation starts, it seems that everyone also has very different plans--and they don't include practicing. Then Delia comes up with the perfect solution: she invites the whole team to a cabin in the Bavarian mountains for a training camp. And so begins a very special summer for the Gothic Sports team....
I'm just kinda disappointed that I won't be able to read the rest of the series. Neither the libraries nor hoopla has the other volumes. I don't believe they can be read online, either.
