Mostly ghostly; Let's Get This Party Haunted was a action comedy book. The book was written by R.L Stine and the comedy behind each line is hilarious. The book is easy to read for beginner of chapter book readers. This R.L Stine series is a great collection to have in a classroom for children to read when they have time. This story is about a boy named, Max. He has two friends ghosts Nicky and Tara. They try to help Max with every problem he faces through out the book. Every time they help something goes wrong and others look at Max as a weird-o. Max plans his magic birthday party and tries to impress a girl, Traci. Max gets upset by his friendly ghosts and uninvited them to his birthday party they get upset and mess with all his tricks at the birthday party. The dark object that his haunting Max warns max that his friendly ghosts are going to kill him. He later realizes that the black figure was hired to protect Max Boyle and he mix his name up Max's real name is Max Doyle. The black figure was suppose to be watching over Max Boyle who was being haunted by three ghosts; Larry, Mary, and Maurice. This is a clever story that ends well. It has its mystery twists that makes the reader wonder!

I highly enjoy the Mostly Ghostly series by R.L. Stine. The characters he has created are funny and the situations that Max gets into are hilarious. Now that Nicky and Tara's parents have been found, see Little Camp of Horrors, the last couple of books are stand-alones, in that there is not a central focus to the stories that overlaps all the books.

Personally, I liked the first fours books in this series when Phears was after Nicky and Tara while the ghost kids were looking for their parents. With this book, the one thing that really bothered me was the way that Max treated his ghost friends. He didn't want them to come to his birthday party, yet, I could have sworn in previous books that they became fast friends. Hmmm . . . who doesn't invite their friends to their birthday party, even if they do end up causing a little bit of trouble? Max . . . I guess. Still, the book is funny and will make young readers laugh out loud and bite their nails as Max falls into deep trouble.

Overall, Let's Get This Party Haunted! is not quite a good as the previous books in this series, but is still a great read. I look forward to more ghostly tales in the next book in this series entitled Freaks and Shrieks.

I rated this book an 8 out of 10.

A few weeks ago I started to read a book called, 'Mostly Ghostly: Let's Get This Party Haunted'. I loved it because it freaked me out! My favorite part happened at Quentin's house. The paragraph I liked said, "So it was no wonder I got scared when I saw the headless dummy in the chair". I would recommend getting this book. If you get this book I hope you enjoy it.
