it's a wonderful self care book for Latinas. it's broken down into three sections mind, body and soul and it gives ways in each section. It is time to take care of yourself and put yourself first.
As latinas we always have to keep moving forward and never look back no matter what we been through. This book definitely can relate to Latin American woman and what we all deal with day by day . The author being Latina can definitely relate to what we going through and in the book it explains how we need to take care of ourselves mind body and soul ❤️
It actually made me realize how great i’m doing 💀 in comparison to what I thought. But I found amazing other helpful tips I can use, definitely recommend it for beginners in what self-care looks like!
If you want a mindless book when you want to feel cozy alongside a cup of tea on a Friday evening, I recommend this. However, several tips felt repetitive, and they didn't teach me something I did not know about either mind, body, or spiritual care. For example, in the body section of the book, one piece of advice from the author is that drinking water is essential for our health. That is already a fact for a lot of people. Another thing that bothered me was the sudden one-word Spanish. I love Spanish; it is my native language; my problem is when there is a sentence entirely in English, and suddenly, at the end of the sentence, there is one word, usually a noun like abuela (grandma). It threw me off a lot. For example, in the section where the author explained how important it is to take care of our bodies, they suddenly threw the word banera (tub) to end the sentence to let the audience know this is a self-care book for Latinas by a Latina.

This was the perfect book to read during my trip. I loved that it provided examples for different Latine businesses and media. It helped me realize the parts of life I really missed and enjoyed.
This book was recommended to me by a friend. It was short and most of the advice I already knew but it was a nice reminder. I did learn a few tips. I recommend if you have the time otherwise i would just google and read some articles.
Found this book randomly at a book store and skimmed through it before deciding to use my store credit on it.
Ultimately, I'm glad I chose this book because I think it has something in it for every Latina. Even if you can't relate to or agree with everything, there will be someone reading this book who will.
I'm planning on circulating my copy amongst my Latina friends because we all definitely need reminders and best practices for self-care, especially when given through a caring and supportive Latina lens. I've already post-it marked the tips I will try, and I'm excited to see what will resonate with them as well.
I really enjoyed this one. Broken into three sections, mind, body, and spirit, Raquel Reichard provides us with 100+ ways to self-care and lean into our Latinad. I took my time reading, as each prompt welcomed reflection and even action items if you feel drawn to it. But I recommend this as a great gifting book to yourself, family member or friend. Great way to recenter and take it back to what really matters.
Note that not all activities or reflections may directly relate to you but it’s always good to self-reflect and see either how far you’ve come, or simply appreciate already partaking in that particular self-care item.
Reading book made me happy and sad at the same time. Happy because I was learning more about myself and how to take better care of my body. Sad because I realized how much I have been ignoring my needs and only giving basic care to myself. For example, I never realized how important it was to pay attention to what products to use depending on my hair texture or what skin routine to follow based on the color of my skin. It kind of gave me a “big sister giving me advice” vibe.
I will definitely be buying this book for my personal collection.
Such a great, tailored book of self-care tips for those of us living the Latine experience. The 100 tips are separated by mind, body, and soul, and I LOVED that even though the author did include basic tips, she also went a step further and included topics like religious and generational trauma, setting boundaries, etc. I had to buy a couple copies to include in graduation gift baskets for some of my loves starting their journey into adulthood, and I think it’s perfect. ❤️
I loved the recommendations on how to stay hydrated and it encouraged me to make some paletas with melon and cucumbers.
I am doing a lot of the steps but there are a few that I needed to hear. -Drink water, getting sleep, getting my toes did...i had been putting it of because I don't see my prima for pedi's and I didn't want to go back to Lees summit. Getting bougie in zona rosa and might do some shopping but Idk. def will have a glass of wine :)
Hope to one day meet the hermosa Raquel Reichard & get her to sign her copy 🥹 Que lindo her palabras & giving us so many ways to prioritize self care, mental & physical care. In addition, embracing our latinidad and culture. And if you know me, I take lots of pride of my culture and where my ancestors are from. Que belleza 💗
While this wasn’t what I thought it was going to be going into the book, I really enjoyed these tips, as I have many friends and former students who are strong Latina women who would benefit from these tips.
This book had really sound advice and encouragement. To me though it got repetitive and I was rushing to finish at the end. I wanted to like it more and I thought it would be an easy read but it was not. Bummer
This was my February book and I absolutely loved it. Read 1-2 pages a day and just took it all in! I truly believe everyone needs to practice self-care. Recommend purchasing this 100000%.
