“Power Rangers: Lost Chronicles” is an anthology series featuring different Power Rangers teams.
"Soul of the Dragon" is an epic tale that brings back the legendary Tommy Oliver in a thrilling quest to find his missing son, JJ! The action is intense, with Tommy showcasing his badassery as he faces his past and unleashes his master morpher one last time. The blend of action and noir elements gives the story a unique edge, making every moment gripping. With unexpected twists that keep you on the edge of your seat, this storyline proves that Tommy is still a force to be reckoned with. It's a must-read for any Power Rangers fan craving a mix of nostalgia and adrenaline! 5⭐️ "The Psycho Path" is an adrenaline-pumping adventure that grabs you from the first page and doesn’t let go! Karone, formerly known as Astronema, is thrust into a deadly game as she’s captured by Psycho Green and the other Psycho Rangers. Her mission to instill morals in these ruthless villains is a daring twist that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Psycho Green stands out as the ultimate villain, bringing a menacing presence that elevates the stakes. The bond between Karone and Psycho Pink is surprisingly heartfelt, adding layers of emotion to the relentless action. The story masterfully balances these intense moments with shocking twists, leading to an explosive and unforgettable ending. This is Power Rangers at its finest, blending deep character connections with nail-biting suspense! 5⭐️
"Sins of the Future" is a thrilling story about Jen Scott, the Pink Time Force Ranger, facing a heart-pounding challenge as she navigates the complexities of her present and past with Wes. The introduction of an unknown Black Time Force Ranger hell-bent on destroying everything she loves adds an intense layer of suspense. The action sequences are electrifying, and the love story between Jen and Wes brings a touching human element to the chaos. Despite moments of confusion, the story delivers a satisfying and explosive conclusion that leaves you breathless. This is a must-read for any Power Rangers fan craving high-stakes drama and heartfelt moments! 4.5 ⭐️
"Aftershock" delivers a mixed bag of action but ultimately falls short of expectations. Set in the wake of the 2017 film, the Rangers struggle to unite against the lingering threat of Rita's Putties. The action sequences are there, but the team’s annoying dynamics and lackluster villains leave much to be desired. With no follow-up for these Rangers, the ending feels unsatisfying and anticlimactic. A storyline featuring a new student like Tommy could’ve injected fresh energy and excitement into the mix! Overall, it’s a missed opportunity for a thrilling adventure in the Power Rangers universe. 3.5 ⭐️
This collection is fantastic! While some stories were hits and others missed the mark, the overall experience was still incredibly enjoyable.
This one was pretty hit or miss for me. The 4 stories follow 4 different teams of Power Rangers from over the years (the last story is a direct sequel to the 2017 movie, for example), so if you don't know the characters or source content, it isn't nearly as engaging or fun. The first story Soul of the Dragon is in the future with Tommy Oliver, so I was fully on board and enjoyed it. The others I still thought were fine and would likely have enjoyed far more if I knew the characters or movie.
Soul of the dragon: solid story of Tommy Oliver, trying to find his son. It had some good twists, but didn’t blow me away, thought the art was fine, but not memorable. 3 stars
Psycho rangers OGN: the strongest story in the collection. I loved Karone coming to terms with her creations of the Psycho Rangers, her giving the psycho rangers a choice and Andros strongly disagreeing with her choice I think this book illustrates using a narrative idea from the TV show and expanding it, and exploring different themes and concepts in a much more adult matter but it was a fantastic story, and I love the ending the art was fine 3 1/2 stars
Time Force OGN: at first, I was really interested. I like the idea of this book at first, exploring the conflicts in Wes and Jen’s relationship. How being from different time periods, and the complications of time travel makes the relationship very difficult but unfortunately, this book gets into Power Rangers time, travel lore, which I didn’t really care for, and felt like it let go of the initial idea that the book was promising me. The art was OK. 2 1/2
Power Rangers artists tribute: I thought this was pretty fantastic all around, not just covering the popular mighty Morphin era, but spotlighting other eras of Power Rangers relationships, zords , and even morphers from a wide range of artists. Highly recommend 4 stars.
