Dated but kind of a page turner. Fascinating portrait of a woman of a particular class at a particular time in American history. A woman from a conventional family who led a most unconventional life.

This piece of writing is something you will have to read and study and read again. It is THICK with facts. But I'll tell you, I grew up around 90% of the key players.

There was a mystery I couldn't solve when I was younger and didn't want to solve when suspicions began to dawn, and I reluctantly solved in my old age.

Welcome to my world.
