What a terrible book. The characters jumped around and there were way too many of them. Not worth the time it took to read.

This is an interesting story in which an innocent woman, Mavis, is tricked into smuggling some drugs. When her companion Mr. Pringle suspects what is in her bags, he gets rid of the drugs, but the evil people who are after the drugs still believe she has them and are still after her to kill her and get their drugs back. Mr. Pringle does his best to protect her, as do the undercover agents trying to find her. There are several murders, some almost-murders, and a lot of risky things that happen before Mavis and Mr. Pringle are safe.

I read this in high school and nearly got kicked out of English class because I couldn't control my laughter. Hysterically dry British wit.
