Back Cover Blurb:

“Baby-sit six kids? The whole weekend?” Deedee gasped.

“Oh, little ones aren’t that hard to deal with,” China replied calmly. “How bad could it be?”

Yet, never in China’s wildest dreams–or nightmares–could she imagine the difficulty of baby-sitting six of the most unruly children known to man. And who would have guessed, that just after they agree to do this favor, China and her best friend, Deedee, get invited to go water-skiing on a houseboat–the same weekend!

Although they’d much rather relax in the sun with their friends, the girls decide to keep their word, banking on the hope that God will bless their socks off for doing the right thing.

But, within only a few hours, China and Deedee begin to feel like lion-tamers when the twin boys torment the younger kids, the toddlers pour cereal on their heads, and the 7-year-old decides to play stylist with Deedee’s hair…and uses real scissors!

Soon, the girls realize that God’s ways are not theirs, and that He doesn’t always hand out blessings for obedience.

My Review:

This was such a good book! It’s sad that it’s the last one in the series, though. I enjoyed it very much, although maybe not as much as Comedy of Errors or The Ice Queen. The Never-Ending Day was a hilarious read that still managed to contain Christian content and a meaningful theme.

I found myself liking the Macons’ kids, Travis, Tyler, Emily, Alice, Valerie, and Vickie, much more than I expected I would. Their personalities managed to be quite different in most cases. Invisible, lonely Emily was probably my favorite.

The theme of this book centers around obeying God and doing the right thing even when it’s hard and doesn’t come with a reward. It is incorporated into the whole story, which I appreciated. This book contains hilarious scenarios of the wild kids’ antics interspersed with deep, realistic contemplations and discussions about God’s nature. China and Deedee’s thoughts regarding Him can sometimes be less than reverent, but newer and/or younger Christians might find this relatable.
