K.C. Mills!!!! I talked mad trash about you in the chat for playing on my top and was ready to hand you these two stars but you came through sis 😩😪🤧!! I really enjoyed the way these characters and this story developed and you redeemed yourself after making me wait so long for this “HEA”.

K.C. Mills gives fair warning from jump that this is a slow burn and she didn’t lie not even a little bit. If slow burns aren’t your thing you won’t enjoy this story but if you don’t mind the layering and developing of these characters flavors, then you’re in for a treat!

Prophet and Endi were worlds apart from each other. He was a hood nïgga through and through and she wanted no parts of that life since it was that very lifestyle that took her away from the love of her life. Prophet knew from day one that Endi would be his and the way he saw her worth, how different she was from other women he usually gave his time to had him putting serious pressure on Endi until she could no longer fight her heart’s desire! Their story unfolded beautifully and I loved the sisterhood, brotherhood and loyalty displayed in the story. The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars was because I wanted to read more about their love on page…. maybe a few dates, idk just more! I’m greedy when it comes to love and I wanted all the things when it came to these two. I really hope there’s a story brewing for Ezee and Nyelle. I want to know what happens when those 3 years are up. And even though he’s a savage now, List needs love too! I guess we wait and see!

KC will always get me right!!

Endi wasn’t looking for a man let alone love and little did she know both were coming after her when she locks eyes with Prophet during an outing with her sister Nyelle. KC Mills didn’t lie this was definitely a sloooow burn but the tension was always present! There were so many moving side parts happening which I enjoyed because this is what makes an urban romance to me is multiple characters and an omni point of view which was done so well! I’m not going to hold you Endi got on my nerves being indecisive 😩 and Prophet isn’t innocent either especially with that phone call around 41%! The side pieces for both Endi and Prophet frustrated me which means they served their purpose but I’m glad they were resolved quickly. Scek scenes bomb per usual! And I’m just glad this couple realized they wanted each other and because the third act break up pissed me off but it was a necessary evil 😩. Endi I’m glad you came to your senses cause Tre could never be Prophet and I hate that man confused you lol. Also loved seeing an appearance/update on Yoan (Nas) and Dae! This book was a 4.5/5⭐️! I’m excited to see what’s next in this series between who will conquer List, and which book will be Nayelle and Ezee because that will be a 3yr time jump! 👀 Either way I’m ready to read it!

Sweet Romance

I really loved this story. Not gonna lie, Endi was working my nerves a little bit but I definitely understood her hesitancy in going all in. Prophet was so persistent, constant and sincere in his pursuit. I really do think it was love at first sight. Their emotions just had to catch up with their spirits.
I hope I get more from the sister and friend. And I also need to go catch up with the cameos from previous books.
Even though this was technically a slow burn, it didn't feel like it to me. The build up of their connection was flawless. I really enjoyed this story and definitely recommend it.

4.5⭐️On My Block is a stand-alone story about Prophet and Endi. They notice each other when Endi’s sister convinces her to attend a basketball tournament in their neighborhood. Though they don’t speak at first, there seems to be a mutual attraction. Endi focuses on her craft; she’s a freelance writer who creates candles as a hobby. Prophet is the man to know; he is a boss but is sometimes disconnected. I think the sub-characters brought balance to the story and helped show a different perspective of the main characters. I liked Nyelle and how honest she was with Endi.

What I loved about the book was Prophet’s quest to have Endi as his. It was so different for him because he had to work to prove himself. I agree that Endi swore off love because of the traumatic experience of losing her boyfriend. But she didn’t want to lose herself to a man, and I understood her hesitance. Prophet and Endi were playing a cat-and-mouse game, and their chemistry was realistic. Once the two built their bond, their relationship was beautiful. But there’s a huge bombshell that threatens their future.

The story has a good flow; the characters continually grow throughout the book. I also think the communication between the characters progressed well. I thought the author tackled the topic of family and gang involvement with good intentions. She explained how it impacts families and why younger people are more inclined to initiation. There is a theme of “family over everything” and loyalty. The book has moments of drama, humor, and good banter. Endi brought a softer side to Prophet that he needed. And Prophet helped Endi to love again. I enjoyed this story.

I had an arc copy, all thoughts are my own.

This was so good

I know nothing about gangs or that life, but this urban tale was a fun read. Prophet and Endi were as different as night and day. I think that was part of my attraction to this couple. Endi was bougie, bougie, and I loved it. Prophet was thuggish with a sweet side and I really liked his stern and surly personality, it was too cute. Endi had his heart from the start. Endi and her sister Ny, falling for guys from other lifestyles gave the story the extra drama and a little bite. The story was a good urban tale if that is your trope. I gave it 4.5 stars for the repetitive parts. Overall, its a goodread.

ehhhh just ok

Endi was exhausting. I know she was supposed to come across as a no shit taking, strong female character but this was not it. I didn’t like nor dislike her. Prophet was ok, didn’t really buy into his character either. Ezee and Nyelle were more entertaining than the main characters. A LOT of repetition. We heard the same facts about Tre, Smoke, Carla, Faith, and Sammie again and again.

mannnnn

She knows how to pull a person in and have them so emotionally invested I swear! Have you yelling and screaming, cheering every thing! Only to get to the end and still want more. Like I need a Yelle and Ezee book! A List book because I’ve got to know why he is the way he is! Sensational job

Good

This was a good girl bad boy journey with so much substance and heart. I loved the hero and the heroine they were made to love each other. I was hoping Prophet didn't give up on Endi. He didn't..... Chemistry was palpable, the dialogue was fun, supporting characters was filling, and the sex was hot. And it ended with a hea. This is a good read!

I found this book to be an enjoyable read, although it didn't quite become a personal favorite by the author. The characters portrayed in the story felt realistic, but unfortunately, I struggled to form a strong connection with them. I neither liked nor disliked Endi and Prophet, the main characters. Endi's attitude and smart comments, in particular, began to grate on me rather quickly. However, what truly captured my interest were the supporting characters, particularly Neyelle and Ezee. Their story held my attention, and I even found myself wishing for a spinoff centered around them. Additionally, a spinoff involving List would also be intriguing. Despite the book not entirely resonating with me, I must acknowledge that KC Mills is a talented author and storyteller. If you enjoy slow-burn narratives and well-portrayed educated gangsters, I still recommend giving it a try.

Prophet and Endi

Can someone serve me Prophet on the platter because baby...he was everything. I loved how this author crafted a love story, an unlikely pairing consider their past traumas. Their pairing made sense because their attraction felt genuine and their chemistry....whew! Endi's slick mouth and her independence definitely drew the attention of Prophet but you will discover later that their connection was deep in their soul. I thoroughly enjoyed this read and looking forward to reading more from this author.

It was good

I liked this one. I had to develop a love for Endi. She got on my nerves so bad in th end beginning with all the back and forth and too much attitude. Prophet was cool. I liked the story.

3.5 ⭐️’s

I like K.C Mills’ writing style and while this was a slow burn the relationship between Endi and Prophet still moved at a good pace. However, the book was quite unnecessarily repetitive at times and many parts could have been edited out. Prophet didn’t do it for me. His arrogance was not sexy and quite honestly was disrespectful. Endi became boring after a while and for as “slick” as her mouth was with Prophet, she folded when Faith confronted her. While we’re on Faith, the way Prophet dealt with her transgression didn’t seem to fit his personality. He was so over-the-top with everyone else, but we’re supposed to believe he handled Faith the way he did…okay! Also the scene with Nyelle popping up unexpectedly on Ezee seemed quite far fetched and wouldn’t have went down the way it was portrayed. She would have caught a case!

Not my favorite read but also not a bad one so I give it a 3.5

prophet is Bae

I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Endi and Prophet were a great match from the first day the laid eyes on each other. Prophet’s life changed due to the betrayal of his ex. Now less trusting and only using women for his needs. Prophet wasn’t looking for a relationship or anything of that sort until he locked eyes with the woman with the shaved side of her hair and the smile that never seemed to reach her eyes. The strong magnetic pull Endi had on Prophet was something he couldn’t understand but he had to explore it. Endi wasn’t necessarily his normal type the fact that she didn’t move like other woman who were seeking his attention pulled him in more.

Endi’s life changed after the murder of her ex due to that she has her guard up and tunnel vision on her career and business. Endi is an owner of a candle business and a revered reviewer who has dreams of more. She thought she knew the type of man Prophet was and she was doing everything she could to talk herself out of even entertaining the idea of being with Prophet. But the more time they spent together she could help but fall for him.

Don’t sleep on the secondary characters in this either. I loved Nyelle, who is Endi’s sister and Ezee, who is one of Prophet foot soldiers. She maybe young but she is also about her business. She moves differently from Endi but she ain’t about to let no dude play games with her as well. I love how she showed loyalty to Ezee but she better than me baby that’s all I can say about that. And I can’t forget about List, who is Prophet’s second in command. He is funny and blunt at times. He knew from the start Prophet was feeling Endi and didn’t have any issue calling him out on it.

Prophet & Endi both moved differently because of their past. Neither looking for love but they were able to find safety, comfort, and love in each other. I was able to read this one several times because it was just something about this story that stuck with me. I loved how Prophet moved in such confidence that others would say was arrogance. He did not play about Endi nor anyone who was under his protection.

Another one 🙌🏾 🔥

The 🐐 has done it again yall! This one starts out slow but please stay the course because when it picks up it really picks up and I promise you, you will not be disappointed!!!

The moment Endi and Prophet’s eyes met they couldn’t stop stealing glances at one another. Prophet knew he wanted her from the time he first laid eyes on her and he immediately started his pursuit of her. Endi however was very hesitant and while she worked my nerves just a tiny bit lol, I totally got her hesitation. She then realized that she wants this man just as bad and decides she’s going to live life and she does just that and a beautiful love was blossomed.

Nyelle and Ezee were a great addition to this story and definitely left me wanting more on them. I hope we can get a update on them 👀

I absolutely loved the cameos it’s always nice to see what some of my old favorites are up to because I miss the characters real bad when the book ends and this one is no exception. I really hate to see them go but I’m so looking forward to Sol’s story and whatever else Mrs Mills is brewing up for us.

Yes, Yes, and double YES 🙌 Get this people… it’s so worth it!!!!

This right here, OMG 😱 is why MS. Mills is not only one of the best, one of MY goat author, but she nails everything and will always deliver.
Now how can I be on this block please?????
Man Prophet is, was, will be bae over and over and over while Endi was actually a wonderful surprise and favorite. Although I can’t say too much because MS. Mills wouldn’t have come half-a🤬🤬 anyways.
What I truly love and never get tired of is that, every single book of MS. Mills has not have any cheating once both main characters are official or at least speak more; then the male characters without fail are always bae with the strong female character, and of course the supporting characters are a gem.
Ok that’s enough now because if I continue I will give spoilers and I would prefer that y’all get the book instead because it’s so worth it!!!!!
Now I am going to read Rain’s before I read Sol. I just reread Nas, so that’s why I am not reading it before I get to Sol🤪🫣🫣🫣

Prophet was an entire vibe and had an aura about him! He knew what he wanted and went for it, but baaaby there was major obstacles in his was (clears throat by the name of Endi - wipes brow).

Endia aka Endi experienced trauma, and this stunted her emotional growth because she was deep with hurt. This girl gave Prophet a run for his money. She loved her ex so much that GF had no clue what this man was doing in the streets, and he brought all that drama to their home!

The secondary characters all got potential for their own story, and not sure what woman will calm List down, because he be on ten!

Ezee is a hot head and had tunnel vision, that got him into some serious hot water!

Once Endi stopped running from Prophet it was a sight to see. Nothing came easy for this couple because you know there’s always someone hating, and attempting to destroy their relationship.

Good Story

I enjoyed this book. It lagged some but eventually picked up and got good. I loved them getting their happy ending and surprised Ny wanted to hold down Ezee but good for them. Cheryl was a lot because she enjoyed the money and lifestyle that came with being Smoke but didn’t wanna hold that man down. She was delusional when she was talking about Sammie too soft like girl maybe you should’ve been the one locked up. It’s crazy how Tre got killed and she didn’t even know he was wilding like that in them streets smh. List honestly got on my nerves a lot throughout this book lmaooo. I know he was supposed to the funny I don’t care homeboy but he was a lot sometimes. Overall good book

That urban love hits different!

Okay so I love all things K.C. Mills and was not disappointed. When I heard of a new release it made my soul smile! I have a new book bae in Prophet. I loved how real he kept it with who he was and stayed true to his words and feelings for Endi. I can’t wait for an update on them as well as Ezee and Nyelle. I really like this new group of characters. Before it’s all over I know List is going to find that special one to turn his world upside down. Impatiently waiting for a new release!😉

Awesome Read

Endi and Prophet's flirting turned into the perfect romance. She was still battling so much internally, but getting to know Prophet helped her with that. She bossed up in all areas and moved forward with life. Prophet found happiness and love that he'd longed for. Nyelle fell hard and fast for Ezee although they took things slow. He was always honest with her about their status. She made the decision to stick with him though it all. This was an awesome read! It would be great to read more on Ezee and Nyelle.

Loved it!

The banter between Prophet and Endi was top tier in this one. I love Prophet and how hard he went behind Endi, even though she was mean at times lol. Nyelle at times was a bit too much, her sister was never going to be the same after experiencing such a traumatic situation, so I was happy Endi put her in her place. Also, she’s crazy to hold someone down anddddd risking her own freedom without seeing about that third leg lmao. Hope there’s a follow up on that. Overall, i really enjoyed this one!

Gotta Love Hood Love

K.C. You never fail me girl!
Prophet…. Never judge a book by its cover. There can be so many layers to a book that if you don’t read through its entirety you may miss the best parts. That’s what Endi almost did. She saw Prophet as one way but finally woke up and discovered there was much more to this complicated man.
Endi…Prophet couldn’t put his finger on Endi’s sadness but he knew he wanted her. He wanted someone who didn’t want any bother from him but Prophet was determined!
Love hood love! These two

Hope to hear Ezee and Nyelle’s story.

Beautiful Hood Love Story

I love hood love. To me, it's the purest most accepting kind of love because you get to see a person's deepest flaws, things that make them ugly to others but you love them the same because you know their true self! Prophet and Endi were a beautifully stressful love story! I enjoyed the slow burn and sideline view of them growing and accepting that this is really love! Great story and great release!!

Cautious Love

This was a refreshing tale of boy meets girl. I appreciate Endi being not the typical woman that Prophet was accustomed to. Prophet was intrigued by her stance of not needing status to be herself. Thus earning her own status amongst the others. Nyelle and Ezee's story had a nice beginning. It had a "more than meets the eye" feeling to it. I believe their story will be exciting once told.

Prophet a hood dude. Endi not about that good life tho she dates hood. Her man dies tragically from that hood game and this impacts her movements with the next hood dude, Prophet. Slow burn romance. Endi drive me crazy the way she kept curving Prophet. Eventually Prophet wore her down and this dude did not play bout Endi.

I need a follow up book on Ezee and List. Ezee got a 3 year bid and a girl waiting in the outside. List a ho that I'm hoping finds love. They both shooters.

I thought it was a sweet story. But a lot of it was cringe.

Like how everybody was afraid of Prophet. Even the lawyers. Cringe.
"Lil baby".. cringe. 😬😬😬
The whole over jealous, hypersexual, controlling boyfriend, I didnt like.
But I loved seeing Endi go through her healing process.
I know the story was about Prophet & Endi, but I would've loved to see things play out with Nick.

K.C. is my favorite author. But this one. I expected something different.

Endia found her Prophet

I'm sorry to say but Faith needed to be put out her misery! I don't trust her at all. Endi had a lot that happened but I was so happy when she finally opened her heart and mind to Prophet. Now Ezee and Nyelle needs a book? I would love to see List find Love also.

Loved the story!! The author is amazing and never disappoints. Endi got on my nerves for about the first 30% of the 📚 book. She stayed sooo locked into her past trauma. Prophet was relentless in his pursuit and finally got her to give in. I think she was a bit naive about her ex. I loved that Prophet was brash and honest. Great story👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽. I would definitely be interested in List story!!!
