In Manchester, New Hampshire, lawyer Dutch Francis is known for defending people accused of DWIs, not murder. But as a favor to a friend, he decides to take the case of a troubled young man accused of killing the local high school football star.

Dutch is up for the challenge. The more he investigates, the more he is convinced of his client's innocence--and the more he gets played.

Decent book. A crime/ court case story that reminded me of some of the TV shows that are out now- lots of twists and turns. The ending left me sad but it was a good story

Excellent read. It gets down into the real methods behind preparing for the trial and gives you some insight into how the clues fit together to get to a conclusion. I found all the preparation very be interesting and informative as part of the case information. I did believe I had the end figured out and as it turned out, I did have the correct ending but the way the book got to that conclusion was different than the way I had figured out.

Figured it out early in the book

I knew how this book was going to end, just not all the details. Good book overall that kept me reading to the end.

I won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway.

A good old-fashioned detective story. This would make a good TV series/movie. I liked Dutch and would read more of this series.

I did suspect the ending, but that didn't take away from the enjoyment, even if it did make me feel a little sad .

Entertaining courtroom mystery. Would be a 4, but some "scenes" were unnecessary and boring.

Weak lawyer thriller. Case against the defendant is so weak no one would file charges or even arrest. Plus ending is bad.
