Kal remembers her family, but she hasn't reconnected with them, until now.

Kal has been working nonstop to prepare for the arrival of the Sworne. But Charlie makes sure her true mate takes a day off to celebrate Kal's upcoming birthday.

Best read after Book 7.25. And can be read prior to Book 7's epilogue.

Lexa Luthor

Lexa Luthor is an avid writer and reader of the Omegaverse trope especially including F/F pairing. In her books, each main character(s) is a strong-willed female, who navigates difficult situations but always ends up finding love with their mate. Every tale has a twist and is gripping, sexy, and even a bit adventurous.

When not writing, Lexa enjoys binge watching television shows like Game of Thrones, Gentleman Jack, or The L Word. Her other favorite hobbies are playing cornhole, rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs, and laying around the pool in the summer. At times, Lexa finds time to read romances (both dark and fluffy) and great sci-fi books but nothing else can beat a steamy, downright erotic F/F romance with biting, knotting, and slightly possessive love.

The family reunion we’ve been longing for!! I absolutely love it. It was amazing to finally meet Sumner’s parents. Such a wonderful birthday surprise. Andren and Raine’s birthday gift had me rolling! I can’t wait for the next part of the story!!

loved this one so much. getting to meet Kal's family and have a moment of peace before the storm is great! Uncle Talyn is so cute!!

if you haven't read the short stories (which you should!) this is the one I feel is most necessary to read to understand the main plot. as characters in book 8 will talk of Kal's family and reference this story's events. so you would feel a bit lost at parts

I thought that I, Family was an excellent addition to The Alpha God series. Sumner’s suprise was awesome and really added to the Family and Pack aspect of the series. Looking forward to Book 8. An awesome continuation of the series. ⚔️

Nice, short story and another way of showing Sumner's position and viewpoint on all of what's been happening. These side storylines focused on Sumner more allows for us to see more into her thoughts and mind.

A beautiful short story of a sweet reunion between Sumner and her family. ❤️ (Love the Gun Show artwork too, haha!) A lovely little fix to tie me over until the next book in the series is released 😁

CHARACTER & STORY IMPRESSIONS:
This was one of the most wholesome short stories from Kal’s point of view. Despite the war looming overhead and no one getting any rest since preparing for it, Charlie manages to surprise Kal with a touching birthday celebration.

The main series has so many moments of turmoil and conflict just as the main cast is finding time to spend together, so it’s heartwarming to get a short story filled with nothing but a blissful, almost slice-of-life event. It’s endearing to see Kal reconnect with people from her past, and have them meet those in her present. Hopefully they all make it through to the future together.

HIGHLIGHTS:
    * Highlight 1: Kal threatening to cut Raine’s access to Kander’s network if Raine broadcasts Kal’s birthday to everyone.
    * Highlight 2: Kal being surrounded by everyone she loves and who all love her back.
    * Highlight 3: Starr winning those arm-wrestling competitions.
    * Highlight 4: I would have loved to see that snippet of Charlie interacting with kids play out a little longer, just because I think it’s sweet and hints that she wouldn’t be as bad of a mom as she thinks she would be, if she were to have a kid of her own.
