Pucker Factor (OPS Book 13) by Giulia Lagomarsino is one more in the bag for the author. Good grief. A left turn. A right turn. A circle. Tap dance here, waltz there, jump here and drive there. A left turn. A right turn. One surprise, another surprise, and yet another surprise. The action and fun never just stops coming. Eli and whatever her real name is are a lot of fun. Their chemistry is off the charts, hot sex and dangerous thrills. This book is a major page turner that you'll want to read in one sitting.
I always recommend reading the first twelve books in this series in order to really appreciate the characters and understand what's been happening that is building towards what I have no doubt will be to be a climatic end in the final book of the series.
What I love is that you never know what you are going to get when read on of this authors books Opinionated, foot in mouth no filter, no holds barred, divine sarcasm, lots of hilarity is what we get with her characters. But lets not forget the action, danger, suspense and situations they get themselves in. I am never disappointed and this one is just brilliant. I love that we get to have the adventure or misadventure, a HEA or not. Grab a drink or three and settle in for one of the best reads of your life.
Strap yourself in for this one because you won’t get a chance to catch your breath! The action and laughs start on the first page and never take a break. This book is part of a series and should be read in order.
This book was good, I didn’t expect the twist of events throughout but that what I like about this series. Each book is different characters and sometimes they interlink with others - it’s great!
Wow. I laughed so much at this book. The way it kept going all wrong. We find out some truths we needed to hear. I couldn't put book down once started.
I loved Eli and Sarah together, they met one night. But get thrown together when everything goes wrong. Eli kept saying there was nothing, but you can see the lies and their true Intent. Sarah has some secrets that no one knows until its too late. Sarah is crazy but amazing in hard situations.
The characters' interactions were quirky and funny at first, but became unbelievable very quickly when that was the ONLY type the author ever wrote. It became exhausting = she could reduce the over-the-top nonsense and misunderstandings by 50% and still have too many. The FMC Sarah herself was unbelievable, suddenly panicking at going up in an airplane when she had, a few hours earlier, taken a totally uneventful redeye flight from somewhere to Chicago. At 21% of the way into the book, I gave up on it, agreeing with character IKE: "Sarah was still screaming, making us all go deaf. In one swift move, IKE wrapped his arm around her neck and put her to sleep."... " What? We all wanted to do it."
Triggers: The are triggers present in a few scenes and whilst serious in nature, due to the pacing of the book and the heroine’s out of the ordinary reactions to situations they are not heavily triggering/graphic in the way they are written. Triggers include:
Pucker Factor was the kind of security romance where the action started from page one and did not stop.
Eli and Sarah had one enjoyable night together then a series of unfortunate events kept them in close proximity facing a multitude of dangerous situations. Eli was your typical protective and slightly overbearing hero. A part of him was hoping to find ‘the one’ but he wasn’t really into it nor did he expect someone like Sarah. Sarah was an odd heroine and I’ll admit I struggled to connect with her. She was simply a quirky heroine who would not stop stealing things and had what other characters considered the most bizarre and out there reactions to situations.
Eli and Sarah did not appear as though they’d work but they had the kind of relationship where they drove one another crazy and wouldn’t change a thing. She refused to follow orders and he did nothing but give them given the nature of his job, the situations they were in, and her penance for finding trouble wherever she went. However their intense physical chemistry was something that neither of them could ignore and from a mix of that and their crazy continuous adventure feelings developed. They tried to deny them but it didn’t work and eventually they became, what I’d consider the strangest and most unbelievable OPS couple so far.
Pretty much stuck on the run Sarah, ELi, and the other members of OPS ended up on a journey where you never really knew what was going to happen and it seemed there wasn’t a bizarre or dangerous situation out there that any of the characters who were mainly involved in this book could avoid. I’m a fan of the surprises and slightly unbelievable events Guilia usually includes in her books but for me this one was too much all at once. Suspending my disbelief didn’t help and I struggled to get through this however there were still enjoyable moments of humour and interactions between the characters. My lower level enjoyment of the overall plot did hinder my connection to the main characters' relationship development and I do think the chemistry was obvious but the ‘more’ that gets you invested was a little lacking but there were still moments of their relationship development that was likeable.
With very real fights over hypothetical scenarios, spilled secrets, and a repeat of ballroom dancing amongst gunfire ‘Pucker Factor’ was an action filled addition to the OPS series that delivered in both the security romance trope and in the humour that brings these characters to life. However, it was too over the top and the relationship development was lacking.
Hi Y’all! Come in and grab a taco with funyuns while I tell you about this book I just read.
The title is Pucker Factor by Guilia Lagomarsino it is book… in OPS series. You do have to read in order. Some of the books have a HFN and that story may ( or may not ) tie up but there is an ongoing Storyline as well.
The cover is hot and I love seeing these guys to help visualize. Then I read the blurb and it really got my interest because a pickpocket? Plus I’ve been reading from first book and anxiously waiting the next story. This is Eli’s story and so funny and good.
Who’s my favorite main character ? This is a hard one. I love Eli but Sarah was a hoot. ( Was there another character I loved and why). I’m always happy to see Fox make an appearance and we got a short cameo from Rafe which I was waiting on. No I still don’t believe him lol. I think I would like to meet Fox in real life and let him make me Shawarma ( as long as no tarantula is involved)
The story has has lots of settings. Its hard to pick one as we get bombs in Chicago, chased in the Caribbean, and stranded in the middle of the ocean to name a few.
What surprised me most about the book was ? There’s always lots of surprises.
Were there significant plot twists and turns? There’s too many plot twist to mention. But man this book was exciting as well as funny!
I loved the ending. It was HFN with a cliffhanger leading to next book, but I myself like continuing series and love a good cliffhanger it just makes me want the next book! Bring it on!
How hot was the book? This one was extremely hot. Eli and Sarah were always getting it on ( in some of the oddest places lol)
If you like protector romance, ex military, pickpockets, ongoing series, romance, humor, suspense and an allover fun read you will love this.
If you're considering this book, you're probably caught up on the series thus far--and probably just as eager as I was to read it and get some answers to some ongoing situations.
Well, you'll get some answers...but you may not like them any more than I did. 😕. Honestly, this feels that we're at or close to the point that the author is losing interest in her series and that brings down the book one star for me.
The MMC was....unremarkable -- handsome, skilled, smitten -- but how many other characters fit that description, too? Eli was pretty much just MMC filler. All the right content...but nothing that makes him exceptionally memorable.
The FMC comes across like a female shadow of Fox. Not that dark, but moments where you see her unhinged. Not surprisingly Fox makes a significant appearance, and yes they do hit it off. She also seems incredibly shallow and made me feel sorry for the MMC in terms of future prospects.
I can't say I enjoyed this book as much as I hoped to, because at least three ongoing questions had answers I found disappointing. It felt like some of the world building was rushed, too, with less sharp detail than I expected--those lovely little bits that brought earlier stories to such engaging life.
Yes, it's written (like so many others) in preparation for adaptation to a screenplay...and after this many books, the luster is fading from that pearl.
Nonetheless I'm giving four stars. It is written well, I laughed at several points, there was plenty of sizzle, and lots of action. Just...not quite as good as I expected from this author.
Another fun book by Giulia. Each book spotlights one of the characters for OPS and this book was Eli Brant. He is the team 3's leader, also known as the Ditty Boppers.
In order to get the entire experience, I suggest you read all of the books in the Ops series, starting with Cash. Each book highlights one of the team members and Giulia never disappoints us readers.
This book had me laughing at all the twists and turns the team had to overcome.
As Eli has a one-night stand with a beautiful woman, the next day he finds his wallet missing. Of course, the woman known as Lori walked off with it.
He wakes up to pounding on the hotel door and from there the action begins. They fly to Chicago to meet a new client that has threats against him.
When they arrive at the office, he is stunned to find Lori or Sarah is she is called strapped to a bomb. What surprises Eli and team the most, is she is so calm about it. They are able to get the bomb off her and find their escape, which is out a 40-story window. Eli straps Sarah to him and they jump out the window.
There is so much action, hot sex and of course the danger the team encounters.
FNG is also mentioned in this book, but I won't give anything away. You need to read all 12 to know his character.
There isn't much I love doing more than entering the world of Owens Protective Services chaos because I'll always have a great time, and laugh a ton. The missions these guys end up on are not only hilarious, but heart racing as well since it never slows down for a second. It's Eli's turn in the spotlight, and it all starts with him hooking up with a beautiful woman named Sarah one night which led to so much chaos that my stomach muscles definitely hurt from laughing. Turns out she snuck out that night while he was asleep with his wallet, so he's not sure if he'll see her again after that, but he would be wrong. Turns out, she ends up being his new assignment as they come face to face again with a bomb strapped to her, and she's not acting normal about it whatsoever LOL! The adventure that followed was insane and kept me turning the pages at lightning speed because there was nothing in the world that would make me put this story down. Of course there are all the laughs, sexy times like crazy, new Fox antics, action, meltdowns, and twists coming in hot all the way to the end! Seriously y'all, you can NEVER go wrong with Giulia Lagomarsino so you definitely don't want to pass this story & series up! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first: In The Trenches: An OPS Protector Romance Novel (Owens Protective Services Book 1) Nuclear Option: An OPS Protector Romance Novel (Owens Protective Services Book 2) Charlie Foxtrot: An OPS Protector Romance Novel (Owens Protective Services Book 3) Pop Smoke (Owens Protective Services #4) Alpha Mike Foxtrot (Owens Protective Services Book 5) Got Your Six: An OPS Protector Romance Novel Full Battle Rattle (Owens Protective Services Book 7) Embrace the Suck (Owens Protective Services #8) Assume the Position (Owens Protective Services #10) Soup Sandwich (Owens Protective Services #11) Secret Squirrel (Owens Protective Services #11) Self-Licking Ice Cream Cone (Owens Protective Services, #12)
This is about Sarah and Eli. They has one night together and now he is tasked with protecting her. Everything that could go wrong will go wrong. The secrets, lies, danger, suspense, and crazy fun times all throughout the story. You get some answers about other characters, but this story ends on a cliffy that will keep you wanting for the next story.
This is the thirteenth book in the Owens Protective Services Series and the wit, fun and adventure is back with Eli and Sarah. Talk about crazy coincidence…Eli just spent a wild night out before his team was sent on an op when he comes face to face with the object of his one-night stand, Sarah. She is in a precarious position as she has a bomb strapped to her. Realizing that Sarah has a connection to the bomber, Eli decides to let her tag along. The more time they spend together, their feelings grow but Eli is doing everything he can to deny, deny, deny them. Making matters worse is that Sarah seems to make friends wherever she goes even those that are unsavory adding additional complications that Eli did not anticipate nor expect. Overall, this is one incredible series and Pucker Factor is one wild rollercoaster ride where you better make sure you are buckled in tight because the drama, action and suspense will have you flying high. Ms. Lagomarsino has once again penned a storyline that brings the love and laughter the only way she can. I highly recommend this series.
How does Giulia Lagomarsino do it?!! Another amazing story with Pucker Factor (OPS series book 13). Pucker Factor is the action packed and hysterical story of Eli Brant, the team leader for The Ditty Boppers. He has a wild and unexpected one night stand with a gorgeous woman but finds himself alone in the morning with a missing wallet.
After his wild night, Eli’s team is sent on a job where he comes face to face with his one night stand, Sarah, who has a bomb strapped to herself. Since Sarah made friends with her would be bomber, Eli decides to bring Sarah along on the op.
Eli tries to deny his growing feelings for Sarah but quickly realizes he would do anything to protect this women (even if he thinks she’s a little crazy). Nothing goes right on this op for Eli and Sarah seems to add more troubles to them with her habit of making friends with bad guys.
Definitely recommend reading the other books in the series to fully understand some of the side stories and characters!!
OMG, could this series get any better or funnier for that matter? Once again Ms. Lagomarsino has given us a suspenseful, action packed, romance with lots of laughs added in that is written as only she can tell a story. Our main characters just couldn’t catch a break. From the moment Eli met Sarah at the bar, their lives took us on a wild ride. We went from a hot one night stand to bombs, treats, kidnappings, and other dangers around every corner. The whole team gets involved, including IRIS and his nature of blowing up things and of course Fox and his showtunes and pure craziness - but then again the way Eli and Sarah’s week is going Fox’s craziness seemed to fit right in.
There aren’t enough words to tell you how great this series is or even how dangerously hilarious Pucker Factor is. All I can say is grab them up asap and hold onto your seat because this series will 100% take you one a wild wonderful suspenseful ride. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
This was such an awesome read we could not stop laughing through the entire story. The characters were great and leave it to Eli to pick a woman as crazy as the rest of the OPS crew.
This current tale was non-stop drama and suspense that had you chuckling the entire time. Sarah turned out to be a mystery not sure what to make of the woman who constantly gravitated to the bad guys in the most dangerous situations she is calm as a cucumber but, yet getting on a plane she acts like a lunatic.
Eli was sexy protective and overbearing but, the chemistry he had with a woman he met was off the charts. They were hot and heavy and the passions flowed freely wherever and whenever.
Overall this current story was another winner in an ongoing series we couldn't stop putting it down. These characters are downright hilarious and we also look forward to Fox's craziness. There were so many laugh-out moments we lost count. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Damn first chapter in and I'm already annoyed by the female character..she just sounds so ditzy lol..willing to be blown up but scared to live by jumping out the window. Time for me to brace myself.
Fox and Scottie doing the shoot out waltz is absolutely genius, talk about embarrassing yourself when you crack up laughing infront of people.
Ok I'm confused I remember reading that Cash and Eva couldn't have kids and that he was looking after a boy that Knight ends up checking on in the Reed Security books. Am I thinking of the wrong couple.
Damn this book ended when it was just starting to get interesting I want to know if she becomes the guys maid lol. But Holy Moly is Jack's book going to be a good read that little glimpse of what he has had to put up with for a year doesn't look like it's going to get any better, Rafe better pay for the struggles he has had to go through. I better have tissues on hand I can see this ride getting rough.
This is going to sound like a broken record if you have seen any of my other reviews. I basically need to copy and paste them because.... I just lOVE Giulia's books. This one as usual did not disappoint. The banter and the overall flow of these books is honestly why I have read them all. I just LOVE them!
If you are looking for a romance book with action, adventure, globe trotting, spice, and some bombs and gunfire thrown in then look no further. Eli and Sarah go around and around in their relationship. They either want to sleep with each other or fight with each other. Thank goodness they figure out their love by the end of the book though it takes some twist and turns before that happens.
Also as usual I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Eli has a one-night stand, but when they head to the next job he didn’t expect to see her again because she just left, not contact number nothing. But Sarah ends up having to be protected by OPS and Eli isn’t acting like she was just a one-night stand. Sarah knows that Eli isn’t the type she normally goes for but he’s exactly the type she likes. While Eli is confused most women would be panicking with what has gone on, but the only panic Sarah had was when they first got on the plane. With everything going on Eli is hesitant to admit what he’s really feeling although the boys sure know that Eli has fallen and fallen hard. Finally they find out why Sarah wasn’t really fazed by the danger and wasn’t what they expected.
This is the 13th book in this phenomenal series, and this is Eli and Sarah’s story. Eli and Sarah meet in a bar, which leads to a hot night, bombs, and kidnapping. Sarah is quirky, and a perfect match for Eli, and bring into the mix Fox and his show tunes, and this can only be another fantastic page turner. This is a well written action-packed story, which is hilarious, with witty banter, friendships, challenges, emotions, suspense, danger, twists, loyalty romance, surprises, and love, which leads to a highly entertaining and steamy addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Just in case the night that Eli spent with a sexy stranger wasn’t exciting enough it only ramps up the next time that he sees her. Seeing at the meeting with a prospective client was a shock but seeing the situation she is in takes it to a whole new level.
Sarah is an interesting character as when the danger reaches its peak she doesn’t let it phase her and she isn’t looking for someone to rescue her and she definitely keeps Eli on his toes.
Eli and Sarah take us on an action-packed adventure filled with humorous banter, twists you don’t see coming and a romance that develops under the most unlikely of circumstances
Sarah and Eli are absolutely amazing. This book had me hooked from the beginning. At the beginning of the book, I couldn't decide whether I liked Sarah's character because she definitely was not normal (and that's saying something, when you take in the other OPS wives), but soon enough she got to me.
Eli is also a character that I couldn't really decide on but again the further along I got, the more I enjoyed how he reacted to certain situations and how he deals with Sarah.
Kavanaugh, IKE and Fox stole the show for me. These guys are absolutely hilarious, and their banter made the book that much more enjoyable.
This one is a fast paced and action packed book that will have you glued to each page. Eli has a one night stand with Sarah and is called in to get a client out of a hostage situation and finds Sarah with a bomb attached to her. Eli insists in taking her with them to Florida where someone stole documents from her room but after a radar malfunction they end up on an island in the Caribbean. Sarah is a trouble magnet and makes friends with people who are trying to hurt her. The two have great chemistry and can’t keep their hands off each other. You can expect explosions, a plane crash, Fox, Funyuns, and a declaration of love.
Eli and the OPS team are finishing a mission in Florida. Eli take a girl from the bar home for a one night stand. When he wakes he is missing his wallet. He is pissed but no time for that they just got an urgent job in Chicago time sensitive. Sarah is in Florida for work she was picking up some documents and headed back to home. She went out to the bar, she is dealing with a breakup. She takes the very hot man back to his hotel and finds herself sneaking out in the early morning but taking his wallet and never seeing him again. Well that is what she thought…. Banter 4/5 Spicy 2/5 Acion 5/5
Going in, I still don’t believe FNG is gone. Do I get some answers? What about Asher? Come on Giulia. I need some closure here.
Typically you get thoughts I had while reading. I didn’t take the single note until now. Chapter 35. I’m not really sure what’s going on, but I do not believe Rafe. I just can’t.
Aww. Fox makes me sad.
Not too much to say about this one. Feels like a filler to get to the deeper storyline. But I absolutely loved the banter and play between Eli and Sarah. A few lovely twists and a peak at what’s to come. Patiently waiting for the next installment.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Ok? This book is hard for me to rate. It is not an author or series I read so coming in so far into the series it felt like turning 5 movies on and watching them all at the same time. Even by the end I still did not understand the characters stories and always left confused. Having said that I could not help laughing at a lot of the antics and petty arguing that went on between the teams. Definitely NOT even close to How you expect military or security men to act. The story is far from believable but so funny you can’t help but enjoy the chaos.
This is the 13th book in the Owens Protective Services series and they must be read in order. Business and pleasure get mixed up in this story and once you cross a boundary, it’s pretty hard to claw it back. I found the FMC a bit odd—not all of my questions about her were answered so I’m pretty keen to find out more about her in future books. But she’s a good match for her JP guy, who spends a lot of his time trying to keep her alive. Loved the situations, action, characters and the author’s trademark character banter.
I chose this rating because this was actually a pretty good book. I enjoyed pretty much all of the characters. This was a book of protection, compassion, kindness, acceptance, determination, doing what you need to do to protect yourself and others, And also falling in love. I enjoyed Eli and Sarah story. The author did a great job with putting these characters together. Even though Sarah was a little dingy, Eli began to love her and her quirks. She was really smart as well. Great read! I recommend this book to all romance and mystery readers.
Eli’s one night of sex came back to bite him in the backside. Turns out the job they get called in on, the girl from his night of living on the wild side is there and is part of the job. The ups and downs, the confusion and the feelings, have Eli questioning his wants on relationships. When the team meets this girl and the interaction with her has everyone on their toes. This book is awesome and another great addition to the series
