Join the very special forces of the 37th Platoon as they venture into deadly alien hulks in search of priceless technological treasures. Crawling with hostile lifeforms and rife with killing radiation, the derelict ships burn out advanced circuits and ordinary men in seconds. Send in the T.A.R.D.S.! With simple tools, dumb luck, and brute force, these tardigrade-augmented Marines can hack their way out of the most dangerous missions in the galaxy!
Truly a delight Inspiring and enjoyable. First for the cool factor of Marines in outer space. But the story is also pleasant and well rhythmed. The characters are sympathetic, both funny and likeable. It reads easily, is quite gripping, and has professional level edition - didn't catch a single typo. In fact I liked the prose. Admittedly a little weird at times, but nothing too awkward. On the other hand, it's riddled with smart ideas. I'm about halfway through, didn't read the end yet but I'll update my review when I'm done with it. I can already feel it's going to be good. Definitely recommend, you should read it asap. In the hope that Zak Zyz one day gets the recognition he deserves.
This is the 3rd book I've read by Zak Zyz. If you're a sci-fi fan, then you won't be disappointed with this story because it's extremely sci-fi! :D It's highly detailed. Zak has a way of creating a whole new universe with amazing depth and clarity and description. It's also a fast paced story.
