Sometimes the only way for justice to prevail is to get a little Wicked...
Wick Templeton is taken by surprise when a mysterious email is sent to his private address. Surprise won't stop him from hijacking an investigation of a serial killer. He's sure his investigative style won't mesh with the enigmatic Ned, but that's Ned's problem not his.
Together they will wear each other's nerves down, butt heads, raise libidos and maybe—if they are lucky, solve a few murders in the process.
Wick’s going about business as usual when he gets a message from the elusive Ned wanting help with catching a serial killer. Wick is not necessarily going to say no, but he certainly doesn’t play nice or by the rules.
What ensues is cheeky banter, a little back and forth, and a continued buildup of what’s panning out to be some very nice UST that remains sadly, unresolved. Soon these two find themselves in a life threatening, very compromising situation. Good thing Wick is one of the good guys!
Loved the ending which has guaranteed I’ll be back for more!
I was hoping that things would pick up in this book, but the plot was just as dull as the writing. I wanted to like Wick more, but making him a Dom didn't add anything to the story. It felt like a lazy way to define his character without having to do any actual character building. I still felt too unconnected to either Wick or Ned to care much about whatever attraction they were supposedly denying. Some of the secondary characters were fun, but these stories are just too thin on plot or character for me to want to read any more.
The second Wick story , this time cantered around a serial killer using aspects of BDSM in the murders. Wick and Ned are butting heads again and the underlying attraction is more apparent. New characters introduced and again cross characterisation from the other books in the Pulp Friction series. No sex as such although there is some off page stuff mentioned...more is made of the crimes and the tension between Wink and Ned. One niggle and this could be related to the length of the book, Im not feeling the chemistry as much as I'd like yet, but there's time as the series progresses. Still a good addition to the series and well worth adding if you are getting the Pulp Friction bug! 3.75* rounded up.
What an excellent read, yes it was short but it was well done. I think I might have fallen a little in love with our bad boy Wick. What can I say so typical don't we all fall for the bad boy. Now if I were just his type, lol.
These might not be the best written books as one of the reviewers pointed out, definitely not books with hidden deep meaning for us to find and characters-come-3D to reveal amazing truths... But the series is pretty damn entertaining and a fast read and exactly what I need in between 700 pages books filled with excruciatingly slow building romance, soul searching and hearts ripped out because MC's can't put two words together when it comes to their feelings... ugh...
But I am babbling.
5 stars. Moving onto the 4th book (I am done with the 3rd).
I really love Wick Templeton, even though he's not really a nice man? Once again Ned Harris gets involved with a reluctant Wick. He seems to unbalance Wick's world at the most inopportune moments. This time they are after a serial killer. Another tight, intense read. These two are fire and ice, oil and water. I can't wait for the explosion when they finally get together.
The writing's pretty bad. The grammar could do with a serious overhaul. The plot might be okay, but its execution is uninspired.
All in all, it really is pulp fiction. The lower end of pulp fiction.
I'm ashamed this was even published. This seems more like a hastily scrawled first draft than anything (on a completely unrelated side now, how much longer before terms like "scrawled" become obsolete as humans move more and more into electronic means of communication and such?).
It's dry, suspenseless, and an altogether uninspiring read.
So, so good! Wick just keeps getting better and better! Ned contacts him for help on a serial killer case. The serial killer is using intricate rope bondage on his victims. So, in less than four hours Wick has accurately identified the killer. Of course he and Ned get taken by said killer and end up escaping and killing the bad guy. We still don't know what kind of Fed that Ned is. And, sexual vibes are going strong with no resolution in sight. Yikes! Still can't wait for the next one.
With Wicked Bindings by Havan Fellows we get the next installment in her serial Wicked’s Way. Our snarky P.I. is back and so is his “foe” Ned. I continue to love Wick’s humor and enjoyed meeting more of his trusted friends. I loved the dance Ned and Wick did, not only around each other but around their attraction. In this installment Ms. Fellows gave us another opportunity to see Wick at his best. He used his assets and allowed no one to take advantage of him even though Ned tried. But you could also see that he was loyal to those he trusted and they were loyal to him. I loved the interaction between him and those friends. I think I loved that even more than the interaction between him and Ned. In spite of that I am looking forward to seeing what will happen next in this serial by Ms. Fellows.
Wick butts heads again with Ned, in this story of murder and rope-bondage :)
Ned Harris actually passes a murder file to Wick Templeton to help solve several murders where the victims have been bound in a particular kind of bondage. In the (very) convoluted solving of the mystery, both Ned and Wick find themselves at the mercy of the murderer - bound, with nowhere to go.
The banter between the two becomes more intense (more 's) - so there's hope for them yet! Still a short story, cleverly crafted, and definitely more-ish :)
A terrific series continues with this next great installment. Picking up shortly after the end of Wicked Solutions, P.I. Wick Templeton and enigma Ned Harris continue their relationship dance while pursuing a serial killer. Snappy dialog and great characters make this a must read. I liked this one better than the first--possibly because I'm getting a little more familiar with the territory. These are so short and skip from one time and place to another so quickly--it takes some getting used to.
Still hooked and on the line. I'm caught and not fitting it. I gotta keep reading to see if Wick and "Ned" get together or not. Who is "Ned" exactly? What does he want from Wick, besides his mad skills?
