Am I seeing ghosts, or is my mind playing twisted games on me? Either way, Leah Nelson shouldn't be alive.
When a cry for help takes me deep into the sea, I see someone who looks all too familiar.
But it can't be her; how can it be?
I thought she was dead, everyone did, but here she is… well, a grown-up, gorgeous version of her.
Blurting out, "I thought your father offed you when you were thirteen?" is not the best ice breaker, now is it?
Then I see her again, and I can feel myself getting pulled to her with every fiber of my being.
But she's tentative, hiding behind a huge brick wall and my soon-to-be ally in the ruthless landscape of Iran.
One thing's for sure, neither of us can afford any distractions.
…especially with what's about to unfold.

The plot is an exciting combination of relentless action, captivating twists, and escalating threats. Each encounter raises the stakes, vividly showcasing the male protagonist's transformation into a fierce guardian, especially when his female counterpart finds herself in dangerous situations. In these electrifying moments, the intensity of his commitment shines through, highlighting the incredible lengths he is willing to go for those he loves. This narrative is filled with emotional depth and adrenaline-fueled excitement, creating an experience that is both exhilarating and heartfelt.

The story revolves around brave alpha male figures, whose rugged and imposing exteriors cleverly conceal the tender hearts within. These heroes, embodying valor and grit, display extraordinary courage as they navigate the tumultuous landscapes of a chaotic world, often risking their lives to protect the innocent and restore balance. As the narrative unfolds, an unexpected romance ignites, blossoming into a deep and abiding devotion. This love drives these men not only to shield their beloved partners but also to protect their steadfast comrades, whom they cherish as family.

I haven't missed a single novel yet.

Susie McIver,
You continuously keep me captivated.
This is Seal Security book 8, "Jackson", and I have yet to feel as if I am reading the same thing in a different situation with different names. I am amazed throughout three military retired series how well you keep the writing fresh and intriguing.
The Seal Security series is the newest series and I love every book so far.
"Jackson" was unique, yet again. Jackson meets someone who he swears is deceased. It bugs him, however, Leah is not dead, even though her father killed her. She was saved and disappeared. She and Jackson meet again under horrible circumstances. She's now special forces, Army, with high clearance. Together these two individuals experience more than one soldier or sailor should.
I loved how this particular novel moved so fast. The pace was such I could not stop. From the moment these two admit their love, one situation or another gets in the way. Even with all obstacles they finally were able to marry...but that is not the end of their crazy lives. More is thrown in their way.
This novel was such a thrill to read, Leah and her sister Lane are complete BA warriors, along with their Uncle Jack. Jackson former Seal and part of Seal Security is just as much a BA and is constantly impressed by Leah, as well as worried. She's a bit headstrong.

You cannot help but fall for the two characters, and the newest secondary characters introduced. Lame and Uncle Jack are something.

I loved it!

Having only read a few from this author, this book certainly didn't disappoint. High action, drama and danger. So good!!
This was about When Jackson was on a rescue mission in a war zone, he runs across Leah, a ghost from his past.
I really liked how they both had their objectives but how they mixed also and they helped each other.
Their passion and the intensity coming from their past history and the mystery behind that really made for a complicated and involving plot.
One can't help becoming involved in this story. With what's at stake and their history and current involvement, I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
So well written, with great characters it made for a compelling read.
Absolutely fantastic!!

Jackson Barlow is a fearless Former Navy Seal, he finds himself deployed to Iran on a high stalk rescue mission. Little does he know that amidst the chaos of war, he will encounter a woman who bears the uncanny resemblance of Leah a girl that h was told her father died her. He felt a connection like he felt with Leah when they were younger. Leah Nelson is now Leah James after her uncle took her and her sister after her mother killed herself after killing the father. They became Green Berets with their Uncle because he trained all their lifes. They started working together and fell in love again

great characters

The book has such good potential but to me it felt like you were rushing us through the book. One paragraph they are here the next paragraph they are somewhere else. We didn’t get enough time to feel like the characters were our friends. You skipped the climatic scenes like when she killed the man when she had pneumonia. Instead she’s suddenly escaped walking towards Jackson. More story details plz.

This is a good military romance. Jackson and Leah have a lot of hurdles to jump before reaching their HEA. There’s action, drama, passion and spice. I enjoyed the suspense of not knowing how the guys (and Bluebird & Blackbird) were going to get out of their situations. It’s a very good addition to the Seal Security series. **this was a complimentary copy and this is my honest review**

I very seldom give less than three stars because I can always find something good in a book. Jackson by Susie McIver is not a bad story, and I liked the tough female sisters who were Green Berets, but there was little background on the many people in the narrative. Keep trying, Ms. McIver.

I hate giving a bad review but this was a struggle and I finally gave up. I thought the writing to be simplistic, like it was written by a high schooler instead of a published author. Too much jumping back and forth. Sorry

Awesome Read!

Jackson and Leah, what a wonderful story, their lives were so different but they both had gone through a lot. He didn’t know she was alive until that day in the ocean, After all they went through, I am glad that they got their HEA!

Read the book and its story line was good, as usual, but her books need to be spell checked as most of the time some word is missing or sentence is incomplete. It causes confusion.

l love this series by this author, you won't be disappointed. It will keep you on the edge of your seat with the rescues, danger and different scenarios going on. There's one section about Jackson's dad that wasn't finished. Hopefully in the next book. HEA for now.
