Ok, while I had some issues with this book, like the “the puckered pink hole that twinkled up at him” and that it started with a 'claiming' (off page) that sort of made me think rape, even if Davi says it wasn't. And the brain-telepathy that only worked when Davi or Salvador weren't having emo moments doubting the love and affection of the other, and really having a conversation while the bad guy stands there and gathers helpers or whatever? And we hear how powerful and
Scary force the MAMA is, yet she doesn't really do anything? Davi has to jump in and save her behind. And will someone please explain to me WHY she wanted to save Viktor's scumbag rear after all the evil he was doing?

Ok, all this means nothing to any of you who haven't read it, but Davi is is poor abused Omega and his lucky day was when this big human ( or maybe he isn't human mwhahah) kills the baddie Alpha and claims Davi not only as his mate, nope he's his bonded mate which is like mating on steroids.
They love each other and have lots of hot smexing and fun is had by all until said evil Viktor comes and tries to ruin it all.

I actually sort of enjoyed this story, it has a lot of potential and I'm thinking the brother and the blond guy he picked up at the end there might make for an interesting story. And I am a sucker for growling and mate-mine and turning furry.
What can I say?

I really hope this turns into a series!!
Like another reviewer stated it did seem to have alot more sex scenes than her normal books.
(maybe that is a Siren Pub. thing now, cause many books coming out of there seem to be following in that way)

Still really liked it and would love to read more about them and their new pack..

As opening volumes for a series go (even if this one isn't declared to be part of a series), this book is a great start. You have an omega who needs saving, a guy who is turned into an alpha wolf shifter because he defends himself against an attack, and yet he has a dark secret on top of that. There is also a whole range of great secondary characters, some of whom I really hope will get their own stories.

Salvador is an alpha, I suspect, even before he absorbs his attacker's alpha power. The man is just too determined and commanding not to be. He accepts his new fate with amazing ease, which may partly be due to Davi's calming influence. The other part isn’t explained until much later, and I thought it was super-cool. Salvador takes charge, tells people what to expect, and protects his new mate by giving him the freedom to finally become who he wants to be. The discussions between the two are fun and they very clearly love each other.

Davi hasn't had an easy life, but he is definitely a survivor. He's made the best of what he had and only very gradually believes things have really changed. Salvador is a revelation to him, and he spreads his wings and becomes a real partner in the alpha's life. Once he has found his self-confidence, watch out world!

If you like shifter stories, this is one with a slightly different mythology. If you enjoy a physically stronger male taking charge only to find out the seemingly weaker partner has a lot to contribute as well, give this one a try. And if you're looking for a hot read with lots of bedroom action, you will probably like this novella. I certainly hope it's the beginning to a new series!

To start off with, when learning that during transformation that Salvador claimed.. marked.. Davi it sounded done in a very rough and unprepared way. I quickly thought I'd lose my taste to finish this after that. But seeing as Salvador was outraged by his own actions and concerned about Davi's well being I decided to keep going.

The big secret seemed kind of awkward. I would have thought being bitten and transformed to alpha wolf would trump the Magi powers. As in being one OR the other but not both.

The villain needed some work, seeing as he not only attacks mom instead of mate but then just stands there in the aftermath without taking advantage of Sal's preoccupation with making sure Davi is alright from the hits he took.

I know, this seems like a wash out right? While there were some lacking things and stuff that needed work I STILL actually enjoyed it. Some will mostly hate or totally love it. I'm more in the middle. I would also like to explore this world a bit more and see if some of the kinks could get worked out and round it out more.

Afterthought:
OH, and I really didn't get why the knotting thing was supposed to be a big deal? That seems more like a totally natural thing for a WOLF SHIFTER vs a MAGI to me

I tried to warm up to the story, tried to like this, but alas! It can't be done. Be warned that this review is a bit spoiler-y so stop reading this if you haven't read the book yet.

The opening was interesting and intriguing enough that I enthusiastically read on. I found Salvador sexy and Davi a bit pitiful but he was a survivor, which I liked. The first 60% of the story was mostly porn, interspersed with some development that seem to materialize out of thin air. Salvador told Davi that he was a Magi on chapter 8, for me it seemed like this was inserted as an afterthought. The clues leading to that “big” reveal was virtually non-existent. Ok, ok.. so I grudgingly accept that he was indeed a Magi. Now, what? Oh yeah, more sex happened, who would have thought. It wasn't until about 67% where some major story development happened.

Fast forward to the battle part. It came to a point where I was anticipating this big duel between beast and magic, and for a minute or two they were actually fighting. It was kinda exciting. I thought this would definitely redeem the book. Until Victor actually took a shot at Salvador's mother which Davi blocked with his body. Of course, Salvador went to Davi. He was all over him, checked his body, had a conversation with him, even kissed him.. Then he had a conversation with his mother.... Where was his enemy, you ask??? He actually just stood there as Salvador was doing all these things! WTF?! How stupid can a villain get? Any bad guy worth his salt would have taken this opportunity to his advantage!! I think I almost had an aneurysm reading that scene.

Maybe my expectations were just too high. Maybe I just wanted a decent antagonist. Needless to say, I did not enjoy this book. This actually gave me a headache. Filled with Nomance, ludicrous plot, and a second rate villain. Read at your own risk.

THIS IS JUST MY HONEST OPINION.

I actually liked this one, it was a good start to a new series. So why only 2 stars? I read these kind of books for exactly what they are, namely fluffy easy light books with in general a good portion of sex. But here we really had too much sex in this book, even for a Stormy Glenn book. Otherwise I would give it 3 stars.

I can't wait to read Thiago's book.

After having met Salvador and Davi in ‘The Stormy Glenn Collection Convention’ I was eager to read their story. Davi just reeled me in with his vulnerability, his years of loneliness and despair under the old alpha, and his adorable personality that slowly was revealed. Salvador is beyond yummy. He’s a good man as a human. He’s an amazing alpha wolf.

As much as I loved this story, I was a little disappointed. The conflict and fight with the bad guy was very unrealistic in many ways, in my opinion, and I felt that all of the pieces coming together i.e. Salvador’s mom, finding Davi, etc., was kind of haphazard. Of course, I’m not letting those feelings interfere with my absolute joy in finally reading this novella.

So, Stormy..... how much longer until Thiago and Lester’s story? You promised......

Ooh, ouch. There’s nothing quite like a book opening with an embarrassing (and recurring) typo. (Repel is so not the same as rappel.) Loads more of errors like that.
But I don’t care because I was trying to take a break from increasing bleakness. It worked.

Ah god, it’s been a while since I read about the “tiny pinpricks” left behind by huge werewolf fangs.

On the whole though, I liked reading this. It is such a simple little book.
Maybe it has a little too much sex, the lack of lube made me sigh, and I guess it’s not terribly deep. But on the other hand the way those two guys love each other is just a bundle of mushy, gushy sweetness and results in a lovely and trouble-free comfort story. (Serious trouble, that is. We don’t count megalomaniacal villains.)
It made me happy. I’ll be re-reading this often, I think.

3.5 stars. Short, sweet, fluff read. Just up my alley with a big bad alpha and smaller mate, they were sweet together. My biggest problem was Salvador's magi status. It seemed as if it was just dropped in willy-nilly rather than it being an integral part of the story from the beginning. There's no allusion to it at all until Salvador decides to tell Davi, then bam, there it is. No hint, no clues, no little slip or even an internal monologue of his secret.

I really like the idea of someone who is not part of the werewolf world waking up and finding out that not only is he the new guy in charge, but his mate is there as well. I have no idea what it is, but I tend to love the stories where a strong alpha male takes care of his new partner and even helps him to come out of his shell, and this definitely had that. Will there be more to this?

I thought this was OK...I liked the characters, but thought that things came a bit too easy for Salvador, despite explaining why he was OK with things. Just seemed like a lot of sex and rushed plot, even more so for a usual book from this author.

Very enjoyable read. And like others have stated, I'm not sure I believe Salvador's mother is has power as claimed. Loved Davi and his devotion to his alpha mate.

Great MCs. Nice relationship. No pack world building nor interaction. No lube. Mother in law not powerful.

This was more of a 2.5 star read. It was light and easy and there wasn't anything horribly offensive or terrible about it, I just kind of feel like it didn't quite reach its potential. And I have to wonder if that's b/c, for a standalone, there are a lot of threads that run through the book so I sort of get the feeling that it may have been intended as the start of a series. To clarify, there's no cliffhanger or anything like that, just a general sense that some of the characters that are introduced have stories to tell, if that makes any sense.

I will say that I loved Sal and Davi, even though I wish that we'd have seen Davi be a little more assertive. It makes sense given his background that he'd be a little timid but I wanted to see him come out of his shell a little more. He's a character that pulls on your heartstrings for sure but there was something that kept me from fully connecting with him or really anyone in the book.

I did like the overall story but there are lots of holes that some readers will not like. Salvador at first acts like he knows nothing about the paranormal world, later he knows a lot. Davi has been taught to be a certain way all his life and after Salvador changes that Davi has no problem adjusting and even being physical with others. This I just don’t buy. The fight scene was anticlimactic and a little over done. I didn’t see a lot of depth to the characters either. There are a lot of sex scenes. A LOT. Also a some people might not be happy with the claiming since it seemed more rape than consensual.

As I said I enjoyed the story. It was sweet and cute, a real “comfort” read but as far as being a solid BOOK, I have to say it really fell short on the plot and development.

Notes:

Interesting different scenario.

Still have penis knot though.

I think these people are all Latino! Cool!

Davi wouldn't know who Freud was since he wasn't educated.

How do they know that they are really soul bonded if could also talk to Davi in his head?

4.5 stars. One of hers I really like and there's no sequel.

Would've been rated higher if not for the second half of the story, where Salvador's roots came into play. After that, I felt like the story didn't jive, things were too coincidental and actually conflicting. Just rolled my eyes.

For pulp, it wasn't bad. Except then it was. She threw in a shit-ton of other things that weren't a surprise because blurb and weren't all that great, really. Melodrama, melodrama, melodrama. I also thought Davi equaled out a little too quickly in the aftermath of the beginning.
