Short biography of Mo Willems, one of out favorite authors. The biggest thing we took away from the biography was Willems mission to encourage parents and children to get silly. He wants children to be creative and feel free to use the characters he's developed to create stories. After reading the biography my children immediately found paper and crayons to see who could draw the best Pigeon.
My girls loved to learn about Mo Willems from Abby Colich's book. Her writing style seemed more current and interesting. I was happy my kids loved a non-fiction book, especially a biography, which is sometimes ranked the most boring in our house.
Sort of a 'my first' biography. Very short. But, does include index, glossary, etc. I liked learning that Mo wants kids and adults to be silly, have fun, draw his characters having new adventures....
Very nice biography of Mo Willems. A good inspiration for young doodlers. Shows a photo of young Mo when he wrote a letter to Charles Schultz saying that he wanted Mr. Schultz's job when he died. I think he got it! He's now one of the top children's authors alive now!
