Evie and Micha’s story totally consumed me! I could not put it down and I didn’t want to even try!

Ms. Asher has created characters that were not only relatable, but those that I found myself cheering for from their first meeting. I loved everything about Michah. He was strong and protective and it felt as though I’d known him for years. His care and concern for Evie was everything I crave in a hero.

The chemistry between Evie and Micha was white hot! When you add in the fun ribbing between the guys my enjoyment level went sky high. While this can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend you read the first book for the sheer enjoyment factor it will add to this one.

Micah was awesome! I love how he fell for Evie and Chase. He was so protective and focused on making them safe. I especially loved how realistic his thoughts were on Chase. Kids can be gross but we love them anyway. It made for some funny scenes. Evie was great. She was strong but also let Micah do his thing. Rocco...hot. Tim's reaction to teenage daughters...hilarious. Her family was funny. His family was a treat to get to know. I just loved all of it.

I absolutely love the connections that Brynne Asher writes and this book has been no exception. Not only did Micah and Evie have amazing chemistry that had me smiling at every interaction they had, but the side characters were brilliant as well. I really enjoyed seeing the banter Micah had with Brax and Rocco, and it made me even more excited to get more from this series just to see them together again. Evie and her sister also had me cracking up, I thought the relationship she had with her family was really fun and they kept a smile on my face.

More than that, this book had a good amount of mystery and left me wondering what was going to happen next. The suspense was done in a more subtle type of way which I really liked. There weren't a lot of in-your-face threats that the characters were dealing with but that made it all the more intriguing as I was reading on and just waiting to see how far the bad guys would go.

Overall, I highly recommend this book and I would say that it could be read as a standalone but I do think the connections are better if you read the previous book first.

MCs:

- Evie, 34

Book info:
- Romantic suspense
- Government agents
- Loss of loved one
- Single mom
- Violence
- Drug trade
- Attempted murder
- No opd, third act breakup
- Cheating-ish (h is married up to 86%, but divorce is in process, future ex-husband is an asshole though)
- HEA

Micah has been tapping Evie and her husband for months because the guy is part of the case he's working on. The husband ordered a hit on Evie and their kid, and Micah went to their house to warn her. And that's how their story starts.

Micah said he's been interested in Evie since he tapped her household. He got invested in every conversation that he had to listen to (invasive, but whatever) and his interest went to full-blown obsession when they finally met in person. He was protective of her and her son. He gave them time, care, and love. He made Evie feel like she deserved the whole world, and that's really admirable. I truly enjoyed reading his character.

As for Evie, it took her quite a while to see the real color of her husband. Thankfully, she decided to finally divorce him, and his ordering a hit for them only cemented that she was right to lose the asshole. She's a good mom, a thoughtful doctor, and a kind person overall. She's strong too, not letting the threats in her life hold her back. I do love reading a headstrong heroine; they're kind of rare in romance fiction.

The romance was good; I did enjoy it, though the relationship progressed too fast. I think it took them less than a week to start spending time together. Micah didn't leave Evie's side, and he acted as her security. Their times together are sweet and also hot, ngl, the steamy scenes are on fire. Though I had an issue with her being married for the majority of the story, her divorce was finalized at 86% of the book. I would've wanted for her to be legally separated before getting intimate with Micah, but that's a me problem.

As for the suspense, I feel like it was anticlimactic how the villain died. The build-up was good and had me wondering when he would get caught, but when it eventually happened, his end became so abrupt that it was so underwhelming. I did like the anticipation, though; it was kind of nerve-wracking thinking about how the scene would unfold.

Overall, this is a good read. I had fun reading it, but I liked the first book better. I'm kind of curious about King's book; his impression of being an asshole is quite intriguing.

Boring and I simply didn’t like it. Heroine was stupid. Hero warns her about her life being in danger, and she responds with ‘we’ll be fine.’ Cute epilogues, but otherwise, hard pass.

That was even better than the first book in this series. I loved it!
The plot was thrilling, well thought out and entertaining. There is a lot of action and shit going down which kept me on the edge of my seat. The pages just flew by and I couldn‘t stop reading. I like the fact we met the characters from the first book again and get a good view on their friendship.
Evie and Micah are just perfect for each other. Both are brave and complete each other. Micah is very protective and I liked how deeply he cared for Evie and her son. He was obsessed with her form the first second and it was beautiful to read how they fell in love. Evie’s son Chase was included well in the story and his bond to Micah was heartwarming.
Overall this was an amazing read! I think in the next days I will inhale all books from this author. They‘re easy to read, entertaining and the plot is action packed with a great love story - exactly what I like.

Micah Emmett = swoony, protector perfection! Tapped by Brynne Asher was a wild, edge-of-your-seat romantic suspense ride that I could not stop reading! Seriously, Brynne keeps upping her game with each and every book, and her Agents series is quickly becoming a new favorite! Micah and Evie’s journey to HEA was full of jaw-dropping twists and steamy, forbidden turns that had my heart racing. I loved Evie’s mama-bear love for her son and her determined and passionate personality to give into her desires for Micah, despite him being a slightly younger man! Micah’s magnetic pull towards Evie was instant and HOT, and you could not help but fall for his charismatic and loyal loving persona that grew for Evie, and her son Chase. Both Micah and Evie had things from their pasts that haunted them and their ability to build trust, find comfort, and of course, love each other, healed all wounds.

Overall, I LOVED this book. If you are a fan of a suspenseful romance with a HOT tattooed DEA agent, a caring dedicated mom and doctor, an ex-husband mixed up in drugs, a dangerous hitman, supportive loving families, funeral dates, private security, close proximity with donuts, an inquisitive son, Miami mansions, an escape to Montana, risky encounters, catching up with Brax and Landyn, all the STEAM, gripping climax, and a HEA that will tap all the right places on your heart, then you will love Micah and Evie’s story. I’m looking forward to more from Brynne Asher!

Micah is a RIOT! I love him! And Evie... I don't often like female doctor stories- actually, I don't often like male doctor stories, either. (People doctors- I seem to always love veterinarians!) Anyway, I adored Evie, her love for her patients, he dedication to them, and her willingness to take time for herself & her kiddo when needed.

Micah & Evie together are full of chemistry that combusts into 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥! And although there are circumstances that COULD keep them apart, I like the way they work through those together. I like the care they take of and with each other. And the care Micah shows for Chase right from the beginning. And!! There is some good banter all around with them.

Speaking of banter, the BEST is between Micah & Brax (or Rocco & anyone, bc Rocco is 😁😍🤣). Micah & Brax have this awesome back & forth with each other that is just LOL and fun.

There's so much good stuff in this story, including a great suspense thread that keeps you on your toes! Highly enjoyable from cover to cover!

😍😍😍😍

The worst part about finishing a Brynne Asher book, is having to wait for her next book to release🫠

Safety: Safe

Om- Heroine is married for a majority of the book, although shes been going through the divorce since the very beginning of the book (6 months before she met hero). She is with the hero during this time. They have been married for about 8ish years and have a kid together. Haven't slept with each other in over a year, and their marriage has been done for awhile. He only makes a few appearances but he's mentioned a lot.

Ow drama- none

Cheating- heroine is married while with hero. But no cheating between heroine and hero

No virgins/manho although heros friends's wives say he was a bit of a player although it wasn't mentioned much. Hero said he got tired of it soon after moving to Miami which he has been there for a few years. Not much more details.

No sharing/being with other people during duration of book/after meeting

Shew! As soon as I opened my iPad and dived into Tapped, I did not want to stop; alas, life kept me from reading. But every spare moment I had, you better believe I was reading Tapped!

Tapped gave me everything I wanted: I 🔥DEA agent (I’m looking at you Micah), a bada^^ woman who stood her ground (Evie, girl you rocked your life), and a little (Chase….who loved talking!).

Ms. Asher brought her signature style of writing, romance, suspense, and a great story! Grab it now!

Suspenseful and sexy

After loving Possession and its twisty storyline, I was excited to dive into the next installment of the series. And it's definitely another wild ride, though Tapped is much more of a classic romantic suspense. It doesn't have the secrets or dark, mafia vibes of the first book - we know our hero is a DEA agent from the start, as does the heroine. I'll openly admit that I was disappointed in the way the romance developed; I was hoping for more twists and turns, our hero caught up in the tapping and falling for the woman he was listening to. That would've made the romance stronger and given it less of an instalove vibe, but the tapping isn't even mentioned until late in the book. That's a mistake. However, I did enjoy a lot of this and am excited for more from the series. It's fast-paced and jumps right into the action, which made it incredibly easy to binge. Maybe not as memorable as the first book, but still a solid read.

The story follows Evie, a woman who has been trying to leave her husband for months. The relationship unraveled years ago, and now she just wants to make it official. But the moment Evie puts everything out in the open, chaos ensues. Apparently, her estranged husband has been up to no good, and he's sent a hitman to kill Evie and their son so he can inherit her familial wealth. When a strange man shows up at Evie's door and claims that he's a DEA agent and her new knight in shining armor, Evie isn't sure what to think. Micah seems to be a good man underneath his gruff demeanor, and he makes Evie feel safe in a way she desperately needs at the moment. As the two spend more time together, they form a connection that neither expected.

So I'm just going to say it - I was expecting a lot more from Micah's time surveilling Evie, and I thought that was going to be a major part of their story. It wasn't. I definitely had a level of disappointment about that, and I also think it would've made the story better. It would've ratcheted up the forbidden factor and made Micah's quick feelings for Evie make more sense. But that's just me, and it's honestly the only thing I didn't like about this. It was such a glaring omission. That being said, I loved that the suspense kicked in immediately, and that we get the chaos and confusion from Evie's perspective. I liked that she was such a strong and intelligent woman. She's also in her thirties, established in her career, and a great mom, which definitely made for an interesting contrast as she felt so thrown off-balance by the whole situation. She's also technically married for the vast majority of the book, so keep that in mind. I do think marriage vows are off the table once your husband tries to have you killed, lol, and the divorce is in the works. I also really liked Micah, who was strong and solid throughout. Other than the untapped potential of the surveilling, this was pretty good overall.

Brynne Asher has done it bigger and better than ever. Not possible, you say? Well…you’d be wrong.

Tapped, the second installment in her Agents series is intense, hot, and full of explosive scenes that had me reading well past my bedtime just to squeak in one more chapter. When I say I couldn’t put it down, I mean it wholeheartedly.

Micah Emmett could be your next book boyfriend. There’s only one problem. He’s mine. I’m claiming him right here and right now. End of story. Seriously though, he’s incredible and the perfect man for Evie.

Don’t take my word for it, read the dang book and if you haven’t read the first in the series, Possession, grab that one too. You will not be disappointed.

Bravo, Ms. Asher. Bravo👏

I’m a big fan of Brynne so I didn’t hesitate to start this book the moment I got it! She does suspense hot and heavy romance so well. Micah is a powerhouse DEA agent that goes a little far in his want for this woman, Evie. Single mom? Check. He falls first? Check. Reverse age gap? Check. Cutest little one around? Check. This book was really enjoyable and all around great romance with no OW drama. I would have wanted his surveillance of her to have gone on a little longer cause I’m such a sucker for that but I can’t complain!

Its not you its me. I could not get into this book. I think because I didn't understand Evie from the start. She knew that there was a hit out for her, yet she wanted to continue with her same routine....ok? I liked Micah pretty well but that was about it. This one did not grab me like the first book did. Maybe because it felt slower paced than the first story. I don't know.

Overall, I might come back to finish it later. Or revisit the series when Rocco's book comes out.

I am in alpha hero heaven! Brynne Asher brings out the big guns( literally) in Tapped in form of DEA agent Micah Emmett. My gosh this brooding intense alpha hero gave me goosebumps and chills, among other things. And what does an alpha hero need to shine? A sweet bur fierce woman to protect and worship! Evie stole my heart with her beautiful soul. Add the action and suspense with the freaking amazing chemistry and soul deep feels..and we have a winner!

Micah and Evie met under very difficult circumstances when Micah came to deliver the news that her soon to be ex husband is part of a large drug racket and hired a hitman to kill her and her son. It was supposed to be a mission for him. But he couldn't leave her on her own even when her powerful & rich family arranged for security. Evie's life is complicated and falling for the agent will mess it up more. But they are inevitable..

Kristen Ashley remains the benchmark for alpha heroes for me and in my opinion, she has written the best military/cop/special agent heroes ever. So when I say Brynne Asher is right there with her agents, that means a lot. Micah has a complex past and his guilt and grief has made him this ice cold brooding closed off ruthless agent...until Evie crashes into his life with her sweetness, vulnerabilities and ability to disarm him completely. Reading about an emotionally unavailable alpha go crazy for that special woman is always a divine experience for me and Micah did it so well! The chemistry was scorching hot. It built up slowly, with the forbidden nature of their bond pushing boundaries and making everything even more tempting. And then all hell broke loose. I am obsessed with Micah and he needed someone soft and sweet and incredible like Evie to slay his demons. Evie may be at a scary part of her life but her courage, ability to love unconditionally and deeply , her fierceness..shines through the darkness. The action part kept me on my toes as Micah and Evie tried to stay safe from the enemies. Micah is definitely the white knight but Evie played her part too. Evie wasThe bromance in the DEA was epic and I cannot wait to read more from this world! Evie is such a strong and bright soul and it hurts me to see her good for nothing ex husband taking down her confidence..thank god our super agent gave back her light thousand times amplified. Evie and Micah are just perfect together.

PS Chase is the cutest kid ever! And Micah as his new dad is ovaries exploding material.

Micah is… whoa. I loved everything about him, but especially how he treated Evie and Chase. The three of them were fantastic together, and I really enjoyed seeing them fall in love.
The story itself was absolutely intense. Fast paced and surprising, like a high speed chase with unexpected obstacles. I read it in one sitting, as quick as I could, because I just couldn’t get enough.

Micah and Evie

Evie is divorcing her scumbag husband and Micah is investigating that same scumbag husband for one of his cases.

Second book of the series and highly recommended. Not needed to read the first book as this could be read as a stand-alone, but the first book is also good, if a little dark.

We get it. We get it. You're a doctor!!! It's mentioned every couple paragraphs that Evie is a doctor. Shut the F up already. If I knew her in real life I wouldn't be friends with her just because she has to remind everyone every few minutes that she's a doctor. So annoying!

Other than that, the story was ok. Micah basically threw away his whole career in 24 hours by deciding to pursue a target's wife during an active investigation. For a guy that never dates, it's a bit of a stretch. The insta-love, throw my whole life away, for both Evie and Micah, is way over the top. They've known each other a couple days and the language is overly sentimental and ridiculous. It's kind of like trauma bonding but Micah hasn't gone through any trauma yet, until the shoot out.

Also, Evie gets shot in the hip. She is injured. But the next day she's riding horses, having sex, sitting holding her knees to her chest. I'm figuring the author has never had an even minor hip injury. None of that would be ok the day, or two, after being grazed with a bullet.

I did finish the book but I didn't really have any motivation to. It wasn't captivating and I could have easily forgot it. I didn't hate it by any means. It's not a bad book. It just wasn't noteworthy for me.

4.5⭐️As usual I loved this book and this author! Micah and Evie❤️
Micah is a special agent who is working a case involving drugs and the cartel.
Evie has a 4 year old son and a awful husband she is seeking a divorce from! Her soon to be ex husband is living a secret life and this will throw her and Micah together. The guy Micah is watching is Evie’s husband….
Evie’s family comes from money and she is a doctor while her husband doesn’t do shit😡 Her family was smart enough to have them sign a prenup before getting married👏🏻He puts a hit out on not only her but their son as well…Micah overhears the whole exchange while he tapped the lines and comes to save her and her son!
I love how Micah falls for not only Evie but her son as well.🥰
She hasn’t been intimate with her husband in over a year
Micah is so busy at work I get the impression it’s been awhile for him as well
It is implied that he was a playboy in the past🙄so I deduct some for that alone!!
No OW drama at all🙌🏻

Donuts and decisions.

Micah Emmett. When we met him in the last book let’s face it we just wanted to smack him. Watching him fall has been a special treat.

Evie had her life turned upside down when grumpy DEA agent pounds on her door.

“You’re not nearly as soft as my Sleep Number bed.”

This story like anything this spectacular author writes grabs your heart and won’t let go. The character development is top notch and laugh out loud moments are frequent. Suspenseful goodness!!

I ignore my friend and send Evie a slow wink.

“Congratulations. You’ll be a dad in nine months.”

I liked this a lot more than book 1 in this series (which is ‘Possession’ btw, annoying when authors don’t group the books as a series, but I get that stand-alones sell better so can’t fault her) so I’m going to round it up to 4 stars. It did take me 10 days to read so like idek how people rate things or remember exactly how they feel about a book when they take so long to get through it. In this case it’s not the book’s fault, life has been kicking my ass recently and I haven’t felt like reading 😭, but anyway this was cute. I love a single parent/cute kid scenario, but this was a little different because technically she wasn’t a single parent, but married to a murderous drug runner with a double life 🤷🏼‍♀️ but he was quickly arrested and forgotten about and never a good dad or husband so the single parent thing stands lol. BA is known for her alpha, possessive H’s and instalove this delivered on that for sure. Micah claims he fell for Evie over wire taps while investigating her husband…that’s romance baby 👩‍🍳🤌

Short summary Evie is a geriatric doctor with a heart of gold and an adorable, if annoyingly chatty, 5 year old son Chase. She also has a dead beat husband/father to her son that seemingly lives off her/her family’s wealth and whom she’s been unsuccessfully trying to divorce for a while. Micah is a DEA agent investigating said husband as a part of a larger case he’s working on and in doing so has to investigate Evie as well and listens in on her life via wire taps. He has to intervene when things get dangerous for her and her son and that’s where the story really begins. Their relationship is very instalove and Chase isn’t around for the beginning of it, but once he is around I loved seeing him and Micah bond and I love an instafamily moment 🫶 so yeah overall this was cute and I enjoyed it. If you like Brynne Asher then you know what you’re in for and I love a predictable/formulaic book every once in a while🤍

Fast paced

The banter in the book had me laughing. Micah and his quick witted tongue. My favorite of his is "what? You going to tell me mom?" That had me dying laughing.
Overall this book was really well written. I enjoyed the chemistry between the two main characters but I also really enjoyed the side characters with the MMC. I do however feel like it fell short with the braim situation it never really said anything about that until pages later but that's ok the rest was really good so I'll overlook it lol. Oh and I also appreciated no 3rd act break up thank you for that.

Something about Asher’s books always leaves me wanting. I think her stories are generally good, but the heroine was a TSTL several times in this. Her writing isn’t the best, but it is easy to read. I feel her books always start well and then somehow I leave feeling slightly dissatisfied.
