Graeme Browning is a rich and powerful man, the heir to a banking fortune.
He has singular tastes in women. When young Olivia Stone's long legs catch his eye at a party, he decides that she might be a pleasant way to spend the night. He finds so much more than he expected, a bright, caring, compliant woman who fills his needs, and becomes his pet, his kitten, but soon becomes so much more than he expected.
Widowed for several years, Graeme fights the way Olivia is melting the ice around his heart.
Olivia has no expectations in her relationship with her Dom. She is so aware of the difference in their backgrounds. When she falls in love with him, the last thing she expects is a future with the handsome, controlling billionaire.
This book contains mild BDSM, including anal sex, m/f/m, bondage and spanking and is intended for readers over 18 years of age. (From Amazon)
Kate spent her early life trapsing the globe thanks to a father with a bad case of wanderlust. She lived in many countries and finally decided the west coast of British Columbia was the place to settle down and do some writing.
This book was hard to review. I had such high hopes and if it weren't for the things that annoyed me and some errors throughout I probably would have liked it more.
I was annoyed by the way the author repeated words or phrases that seemed unnecessary to me. You only need to say it once I think that I am smart enough to understand.
ex."... and it was so erotic, it was so erotic, it was so damned erotic" "... pulsing in her belly, deep in her belly" "You're marking me, aren't you?" she gasped. "Marking me..." "...she couldn't, she couldn't..."
There were several instances of things like this.
I was also annoyed by the fact that part of the story seemed unbelievable.
Also I felt that there were a few errors that could have been avoided if someone had reread the text first. ex. Using the wrong character name
All that being said, I still am looking forward to the next book, because this book isn't all bad. I loved Michael, he was one of my favorite secondary characters. It was also a bit of intrigue, and I can't wait to see how that pans out. That is the main reason I am looking forward to reading the sequel, because I want to see what is going to happen with
The first law of erotic literature is that it has to be well-written. Bad writing is porn.
Kate Britton passes the test and intrigues immediately by telling us that Graeme Browning is not a happy man. He should be. A billionaire, they all are these days, just take a walk around SW3, but Mr Browning has long been in mourning and doesn't believe his heart will ever glow again.
When he meets Olivia Stone at a reception, he is attracted to her smile, her long legs, her svelte shape and plans to use her to relieve his loneliness, just for the night. What he doesn't expect is to find a girl who is caring, loving and who makes him laugh.
And there is something else about Olivia, she is naturally submissive, the yin to his dominant yang. Will he be able to train her, tame her - or is she subtly training him?
With its lush settings, beautiful people and hot scenes of BDSM, we are in the land of erotic romance and that's a jolly nice place to be. I have heard on the grapevine that there is a sequel in then works and I shall be looking out for it.
This novel has a love story very different than most you have read or seen in this specific genre. It is more than an erotic book as you witness a powerful love forming between a Dom and his submissive.
Follow Graeme and Olivia, as their love grows stronger and their hearts and souls are fused together as you get further into the book.
This book is the sexiest book I have ever read in my entire life. I had my wife read it and she fell in love with it instantly. To remain professional, lets just say I am very and extremely happy that she read it. I do love how it was not just full of erotic scenes from front to back. Taming Graeme is a smart and passionate novel as Kate Britton focuses on business and family as well. I am looking forward to reading more from this fantastic author.
MANAGER??? Really! Why not just say "head". It was very distracting to me because " head" is understood in any country. The story was good but not much passion and it has errors in it. Too many.
I really enjoyed this book Taming Graeme (Taming the Billionaire) by Kate Britton. It is very enjoyable and easy to read but also has an intense love story. The setting was mainly in and around London which I liked since it brought me back to thinking about the good times that I had when I lived there.
I liked that all the characters developed well and had their own personalities, it wasn't just about the two main characters Olivia and Graeme. All the other characters definitely added to the storylines. I also liked that there was some mystery involved which we find out more about near the end of the book!
There were some parts in the book that weren't fully believable but I read it as a fantasy erotica romance story. It's almost every girls dream to be swept off her feet by a rich, handsome man who takes control and it was fun to escape to that world for a while.
If you liked the cinderella story that was the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy then you should like this book as well. At the moment it is only in ebook Kindle format on Amazon for $2.99. I had it gifted to me by the author but $2.99 is well worth the cost. I am giving this book 4.5 stars since it had me captivated from the start.
A decent read for a new author, even though after the first few chapters I thought I'd wind up not finishing this one, I was drawn in as the plot and characters developed. I'll probably try out the continuation of this story that was published this year to see how the author's writing has evolved. The characters develop as the story progresses and the many interconnecting storylines become quite charming. The writing itself wasn't dripping with typos like so much writing is lately, so that was a huge relief. Here my issues were with the tone and writing style - the author's voice struck me as decidedly old fashioned. Sometimes it felt like reading a historical romance with lots of anachronistic technology references. Also, perhaps this is a British thing, but usually sexy contemporary romance heroes that are supposed to be sexy alpha males don't sound so uptight and formal. Who knows! Maybe it's completely normal for British billionaire dominant BDSM club owners to be very formal in their speech but I'd probably feel at least a tad uncomfortable if I spent time with people who used the word "shall" even half as much as these characters do. Anyway, eventually the characters stopped annoying me so much and now I can't help but want to see what's next for the characters and Ms. Britton alike!
First Taming Graeme started with the two main characters getting together for the first time and developed into a story of how the romance developed. The best part was that the author was able to smoothly move the story along and give insight into Olivia's character as a sweet, faithful and intelligent woman that was very submissive in nature. Although Graeme was in control of the relationship, he was not in control of his feelings for the first time in his life and for a Dom that added interest to the plot development.
Second the sub-characters, especially Linda and Michael were well developed and fit into the story throughout. Amanda, the cousin and gossip was written to antagonize and she did it beautifully so she was one of the pot stirrers.
The problems at the bank in Belfast and the dishonest traders added another twist and true villains to the plot. That was topped with the break-in and the twist at the end with Gavin still plotting his evil.
Training Graeme offers romance, BDSM, villains, a host of Alpha males and beautiful women with a great storyline that moves smoothly for a great reading experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for any of these things in a good story.
Fans of Sophie Kinsella's Can You Keep a Secret, Helen Fielding's Bridget Jones' Diary, and E.L. James's Fifty Shades of Grey will love this book! This book is extremely well-plotted out and wickedly readable. There are a lot of fully fleshed, sympathetic, and very interesting characters throughout the story with several intriguing subplots. (Based on the ending, it seems like Britton might be setting up for a trilogy but most definitely a sequel.) This is a BDSM romantic love story as Olivia, a hard-working and intelligent young woman comes to the attention of Graeme Browning. She is very intrigued by the BDSM lifestyle which she has only read about. Graeme takes her as his sub to train and ends up falling for her. There is a lot of hot sex in this story and many depictions of elements of the BDSM lifestyle. I found myself compelled to keep reading as I wanted to know how the main plot and all the subplots would turn out. The fact that I couldn't put this book down until I had finished it means the book was absolutely 5 stars! I don't want to give out spoilers because you will enjoy being surprised as much as I did as well. I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book!
To be a Dom and be tamed by your submissive like turning the tables on you. This book had action, adventure, and afterglow. If you are looking for sexual encounters then this is the book for you.
What a fantastic read! I loved the characters. I did think Olivia should have stood up for herself at times but I loved their relationship! I cannot wait for the 2nd!
