Where Would I Be Without You

Rate this book
Often in life, you are given choices. One that is clear, concise, and common sense, the other one, well let's call him TROUBLE for short. You are given these choices to make your life easier as the happy caring gods are smiling down on you thinking, you go girl, here you are, your two choices; we know you will make the right one. Then the blue-sky turns an ominous steel gray full of thunderclouds and lightning begins to strike; gale-force winds begin to blow as you make the wrong choice. It's not like you saw all the warning signs. Blue sky to dark. Lightning. Gail force winds. But hey, if you always made the right choices, life would be one very boring highway. Doing what becomes one, doesn't always make common sense, but it sure makes life fun.
What does Amber Jones do when a man who seems perfect comes along just when she start making one mistake after another? Perfection is the farthest thing from Amber Jones horizon. Sure, she has a great job, a nice body, hair that is manageable and a closet that she could brag about at a fraction of its cost, what more could a woman want? A lot! What she doesn't have, at the almost ripe age of thirty, is a plan to set the next thirty years in motion without all the continuing chaos or drama that she likes to entertain her family and best friend Marion with.
With all intensive purpose of growing up and making something out of her life, Amber has diligently supplied herself with one of her famous plan of action lists. She wants to take college courses to appease her mom, without quitting her great job with benefits. She would like her boyfriend to take things just a bit more serious, and perhaps do some mature activities like volunteer work, versus spending her entire Sunday watching movie marathons after spending the entire Saturday night embarrassing herself at a karaoke bar.
All it took was one night, one very crazy chaotic drunken night on her part, to turn everything around. Depending on if, she is heading in the right direction when it all settles is up to Amber and her grown up decisions, or does she find a way to muck it up again?

Flounced at 0% due to 'with all intensive purposes'. That is NOT the phrase. Two more pages full of horrid grammar and punctuation and I called the code.

I enjoyed this book, nice3 reading while you're by the pool. If you can overlook the grammer and all that you will like it too.

Amber Jones is a woman that knows that she needs to grow up and does something about it. She had her fun in her twentys and now that she is about to turn the big 3-0 she has deceided that she needs to make sure mature move in life. Being overshadowed by her sister, she knows that she needs to live her life according to her beliefs and what is right for her. Sometimes life deals you some lemons and instead of crying over them she makes lemonade. Enter Mason, I was glad that they met and got things to work for them despite the little nake misunderstanding with the gal from 6D but then again who wouldn't think the same think that Amber did.

The book was a coming of age for most woman that most wish could make life plans like that and stick to it. Marion is a great bestie and should all be lucky to have a person like that on our team. I just wish the ending went further into Amber and Mason's life.

This was a cute story that can be easily read in a few hours. It is not super romantic or off the charts overly done romance, but the characters kept me involved throughout. Some more substance could have been put into the book towards the end as it did seem a little rushed. Some slight editing errors throughout, but for a free book it wasn't too bad.

The only reason I didn't give it 1 star is that I liked Mason. I hope the author doesn't really know someone like Amber because she is an idiot. Immature doesn't begin to describe her - no wonder her mom was riding her about getting her act together. Mason should get another chance with someone more deserving.
