Krishna ki Atmakatha #3

Krishna Ki Atmkatha #3-Dwarka Ki Sthapana by Manu Sharma, Part III of the book begins with Vrishni and Yadav clans from Mathura Kingdom fled to Dwarka. Dwarka is located as an island on the sea. Near Dwarka are hill hills. Thus, it is naturally protected from enemy attacks. Yadav and Vrishni clans appointed Governance House with important members of both Vrishni and Yadav clans as members headed by Ugrasen. First priority was food and shelter for all. Second, was to educate children, skill people, develop business and work for all according to his status of education and capability of investment. They had initial gold for this purpose. Soon, businessmen from other countries flooded Dwarka and prosperity rose. Dwarika has friendly terms with Pandavas who are part of the Kuru empire at Hastinapur. Blind Dhritrashtra is the King of Hastinapur. Kuru Royal Family elder and warrior Bhishma leads the kingdom. Dhritrashtra and Pandu are brothers. Pandu died in his youth with five sons Yudhirstir, Bhim, Arjuna, Nakul and Sehdev. Thus, though blind, Dhritrashtra was enthroned. Kripacharya is the Royal Teacher with Dronacharya. Dhritrashtra’s half brother Vidur is the Minister. Another renouned teacher is Dronacharya who has married sister of Kripacharya. Dhritrashtra has 100 sons and one daughter. Eldest son is Duryodhana and his sister is Dussahla. Yudhistra is the eldest among the children. Therefore, it is expected that he will be declared next incumbent for the Kuru Throne. Shakuni is brother of Dhritrishtra’s wife Gandhari, daughter of King of Gandhar. Shakuni sows the seed of envy in the mind of Duryodhana that he is son of the present King and he is eligible to be declared incumbent for the Kuru throne. Pandavas are sincere in learning. Thus, all Kurus and Pandus pick up scriptures, archery, war and peace, use of arms and ammunitions, wresting, use of mace in fighting, horse riding, fighting with standing on chariot. Kurus are also trained with them. Dronacharya’s son Ashwasthama is also trained with the group of Royals. Yudhistar is expert in throwing Javaline, Bhim with mace, Arjun with bow and arrow, Nukul on cows, horses and elephants, while Sahdev in writing and reading related to administration. Karn is another character in the Kuru camp. Karn is unware that he is son of Kunti. Kunti got a boon from a Rishi that she could invite any of the 6 Gods to impregnate her with a baby. Thus, Karn is son of Sun God. Because of fear that Karn is a child born without proper wedlock, she places the child in a covered basket and leaves the basket in the river. This basket is collected by Radha and Adhirath, a charioteer from Kuru kingdom. They bring up Karn as their child. Karn wishes to join the school of Dronacharya but Dronacharya refuses to admit him on the ground that he is not fromo Royal blood. Bhim and Duryodhana are strong. Durodhana is not able to empower and beat Bhim therefore, he plans to kill Bhim. He poisons Bhim and throws him in Ganga River but Bhim surfaces alive after a few days. Kunti is sister of Krishna’s father Vasudev. Therefore, Krishna is protective about Pandavas. Vidur is married in the Devak’s family servants. Thus, there is communication between them about the welfare of Pandus. Other neighbouring Kingdom’s of Dwarka do not consider Yadavs as Kings because they have risen from the grassroots. They have been rearing cattle, selling milk and milk products. At Dwarka, sea route for sending and buying products is available, therefore, they are able to sell their goods more and thus Yadavs are affluent. Krishna marries Rukmini, Satyabhama, Jambwanti, Yamuna, Mitravinda, Bhadra, Laxmana, Ngnajiti. Part III is the base story of Krishna on which Part IV to VIII can be understood. This is a good about Mythological Epic Shrimadbhagwata. It should be popularized by translation in other Indian languages for readers of all age groups.

The series is going downhill, this book had nothing to offer just some bland story and edgy writing.
