Hmmmm so there were pros and cons I found when I read this book. It had cute moments

The things that I did like

The concept or the idea of the story
The twins were a good addition
Daniel and Lexie had some good moments
Quick and easy read and not too heavy

Things that I didn't care for

The story was predictible
Didn't feel Lexie's love for Daniel since she was still was flirting with the idea of another
The love of Daniel, Eddie and Lexie escalated way too quickly which it made it hard to believe on all counts
I found Daniel a bit of a weaker male lead ( I wish he still had Daniel's good qualities with Eddie's spunk, strength and confidence)

I had the chance to review this book and Matchplay from Dakota Madison and out of the two I preferred Matchplay but they were both light quick reads to fill the time

Having read Dakota Madison's Matchplay only a few days before I started Slow No Wake I knew I would be reading another contemporary NA romance. Except, for me, Slow No Wake, lacked the spark of Matchplay and Lexie was certainly not the tenacious female I wanted her to be. In fact, her indecisiveness irritated me, and I tolerated her for the sake of the story. It was not only in her relationships with Eddie and Daniel that I felt her character should have been more emphatic, but definitely when her sister arrived! Although her need to make everyone else happy overrides her own desires my first thought was 'you just wouldn't!
However to be honest Lexie is almost as guilty as Heather since she has moved to Florida and Slow No Wake does not present a very healthy view of trust in relationships, whether they are romantic or just friendships, which is ironic for a story in which the characters work as therapists!
Although Daniel and Lexie's romance was 'nice' I always felt Lexie was settling for second best, however for me Eddie was the extreme and too aggressive.
Slow No Wake will be enjoyed by fans of NA romance, especially those who like a love triangle! I look forward to reading more of Dakota Madison's books.

Unfortunately, I was not impressed with this, for several reasons.

There were quite a few editing errors, which I could overlook if there was some type of story flow or connection to the characters.
There were several points where I stopped and said, "uh... no more", but I forged on hoping it would get better.
I thought the premise was a good one, but it wasn't executed well.
I really didn't care much for Lexie or Daniel, I was more interested in Eddie and what was going on with him.
It just felt like things were half finished all through out.
Although the conflicts essentially were resolved, there was no satisfaction in the resolution.
Bottom line, at the end, it felt incomplete and like I read just parts of a story.

What did I just read? What the H did I just read?
I hate giving low rating but this one deserved it.
A book that normally takes me maximum 2 hours to read took me over 2 days, that goes to show. I can't, I just cant. I had a major headache all throughout this read.
Feels like this book was written by an over eager, starry-eyed eleven year old and boy do i believe an eleven year old could've done a better job. All in all.... I sound bitter, cold and hostile, so I'll just stop here.

My, oh my. When the love triangle in this story was first brought to light, I braced myself for an emotional roller coaster. I definitely got emotional, but not in the way I was expecting. With a love-scarred heroine, a hottie coworker, and a egotistical womanizer all in the mix, it was bound to get ugly, especially when they all live right next to each other. Lexie's decision to head to Florida so she could escape the drama and upheaval that resulted from her broken engagement didn't turn out remotely as smooth and wake-free as she'd hoped.

I have to say right off the bat, this love triangle was without a doubt the simplest one for me to make up my mind on. Usually I'm a little torn between the characters, and to a certain extent bad-boy Eddie playing the scorchingly sexy temptation while Daniel was the gorgeous knight in shining armor did make them have contrasting appeal. But what started out as Eddie's cocky sexuality quickly turned into him just being a complete and total ass at every turn, to the point I was really wanting to strangle all of the characters for not telling him where to shove his heartless, narcissistic comments (refer to earlier comment about my emotional state). Thankfully Lexie had a career and the interest of Daniel to keep her otherwise occupied, because every time Eddie came in with what I guess was his version of suave and sexy flirtation, it had the opposite affect on me. He wasn't at all a temptation in my mind, because his entire world revolved around him regardless of who got hurt in the process. I don't know if Eddie was really meant to be a villainous character, but that's all he came across as for me because I just didn't buy his few moments of sensitivity at all.

Daniel for me was a completely different story. He'd been burned (and don't even get me started on HOW he got his heart broken), and he wasn't ready to trust Lexie with his heart completely just as she was cautious of her own. I can't say I felt an intense connection between them, because I think character development as a whole could have been a little better here, but they had a sweet romance blooming. Despite all of their past hurt, they were able to give each other something they both needed, and thanks to his harsh personality, the sexual tension that antagonist Eddie provided didn't overshadow Daniel's allure. There was plenty of drama and suspense surrounding Lexie's love life thanks to Eddie's persistent attempts to lure her in, and of course her sister's betrayal had to be dealt with eventually. After the dust settled and Lexie figured out what she really wanted, though, things worked out for the best. There wasn't enough real heartfelt emotion and depth to make this story wow me, but it was a decent read and would be a fun escape for those who enjoy lots of angst with their romance!

From my blog.

**ARC provided by author for an honest review**

First of all, I can't. I just can't rate this book fairly. Sorry! Therefore, there's no rating.

There's a really good reason I usually don't read books with love triangles. I usually fall head over heels in love with the wrong guy and end up with the worst case of broken heart. Still I decided to give this book (that has a beautiful, beautiful cover, by the way) a try. I honestly wish I could turn back time and not read it... It just hurts so, so bad... I don't know how she could ever go for the OTHER GUY. Yep, I fell in love with the guy she didn't want.

Okay, okay... I take a deep breath and try to write something a bit more coherent. No spoilers, okay? So, Eddie's this womanizing asshole who sets his sights on Lexie (or Alexandra, as he calls her). They have this unbelievably crazy strong attraction going on and the way she reacts to him is just WOW. Daniel is a safer choice. They are somewhat attracted, but he's sweet and loving and won't hurt her like her ex-fiance did.

It took me a mere second to decide who I liked more. At the beginning, the guys weren't THAT different for me. Which means that I wasn't rooting for anyone. However, the more this book progressed, the more I wanted only one of them (I'm not going to say which one). The other one was grating more and more on my already sensitive nerves and what I had before thought to be a sweet gesture, turned into something annoying... Sometimes possessiveness is NOT sexy AT ALL.

Would I call it a happy ending? No, I'm sorry I can't do it. The closer I got to the end, the more in pain I was. I was literally hoping until the very last page that maybe, just maybe something will change. I was even praying for a cliffhanger (crazy, right?) that would give me some hope. No. Nothing. Gaahhh... I can't stress enough how much it hurt.

I honestly can't even figure out how to rate this book. My heart wants to give it a -500/5 (yep, there's a minus before 500). My mind tells me that it was a job very well done. After all a book that leaves you in such a desperate heartache is definitely one worth remembering. I really need a support group right now. It's a horrible, horrible pain. I'm pretty sure I need therapy to function again...

Should you read it? A question I just can't answer. It's totally up to you. I guess if you fall for the right guy, you'll love it. If not, then you can come back here and we can hurt together.

I can never pass up a good love triangle book, so when I read the synopsis and saw it: 1) had a beach setting, 2) had a love triangle, and 3) was a NA contemporary, I knew I had to read it.

I really enjoyed this book. I did find something slightly off with the writing style; it felt a bit juvenile at times, but I was able to ignore that and really enjoy the story between Lexie, Eddie, and Daniel. I did have an issue with how the end just cut off. It didn't cut off to a point where I didn't receive plot resolution; it was just an abrupt way to end the book.

When we first meet Lexie, she has just moved from Illinois to Florida to escape her recent heartbreak of losing her fianceé... to her sister. Ouch. She meets her surfer next door neighbor, Eddie, who is downright sexy, flirty, and oozes confidence. She is instantly attracted to him, but reminds herself she wants to steer clear of men for the time being. However, on the first day of her new job she meets Daniel, who is shy, sweet, and also good-looking.

Personally, I liked Daniel instantly. I don't usually go for the bad boys though. There's something about a good, sweet guy who is willing to do anything for you. And just because he's a good, 'safe' guy doesn't mean he Lexie don't have chemistry. It's just a different kind from what her and Eddie have.

I kind of saw Eddie and Lexie have more of a physical attraction going on, where Lexie starts developing feelings for Daniel that she can't ignore.

There is alot of tension in this book that I really enjoyed reading, but wow- Daniel and Eddie are complete polar opposites of each other. Where Eddie is confident and cocky, Daniel is unsure and insecure. I have to admit that did drive me a little crazy at parts in the book. Then again, she was kind of leading them both on, so I can understand his insecurity, especially since he said Eddie always gets the girls and has been burned in the past.

Overall, it was a quick, light read with relatively no angst. Madison didn't overdo Lexie's heartbreak or turn the story into a heavy one and I really liked that. But there is not a whole lot of plot development, it's a very basic storyline of two guys falling for the same girl and forcing her to make a choice.

Lexie finds her sister in bed with her fiancé and decides to start over. She leaves the Midwest and moves to Florida and wants to keep her life uncomplicated. She decides she wants to live with a Slow No Wake attitude, meaning no drama. I get it, life would be nice without so much drama!
Lexie starts her new life moving into a new apartment where she meets Eddie her next door neighbor and requisite man-whore. He comes on strong but is fun and friendly too. There is a hint that there is something more to him than what he presents. At her new job Lexie meets Daniel and is immediately drawn to and connected to him. The love triangle starts here and someone who wanted no drama quickly moves into high drama.
Daniel is the good guy who has been hurt and Eddie is the bad boy who falls for Lexie and is willing to try more than a one night stand.
Dakota Madison’s writing is good and this was a good book. The angst was light and the characters good. Overall, I liked the book and it was a quick read. The characters could have had a little more development for me because I didn’t feel a strong connection to them and felt like I only got the briefest of a glimpse into their lives and didn’t get a feel for what they went through and how they got to where they are today. I also felt that the last part of the book seemed rushed and the relationship/love triangle seemed unresolved with one of the characters. It just felt to me that it moved on too quickly and I was wondering, “hey what happened to…?” Nonetheless it was enjoyable. Give it a try. 3.0

I liked this book. Who wouldn't want 2 men want them at the same time.

Lexie ended her engagement because she caught him cheating and get this with her sister!! oh dang.
She decides to move to Florida to get a new start and to swear off men.

Well I can say that didn't happen. Eddie was 1 of her 2 suffer neighbors who perused her the minute she moved in. Daniel was a co-worker who was shy but wanted to get to know her better.

I didn't really feel a connection with Daniel and Lexie. I think she wanted him more than Eddie because he was laid back on how he aproched her. She only new him for a few weeks and was already in love with him. Yes I know love at first sight but I didn't feel that with them.

Now the sexual tension with Eddie was great. That was something she didn't have with Daniel. I don't know why she didn't jump him. But she was looking for more than a one night stand and Eddie didn't do 2 nights. Eddie wanted her and he didn't care about Daniel. I really thought they were going to have a 3 some LOL!!

I am not even going to speak about her sister. I don't think I could of had my sister in the same house after what she did. I would of killed her.

The ending was OK. At least the sister didn't end up with Lexie's man. The other characters in the book were alright. I think they were just there to give Lexie and Daniel and Eddie something to do. It wasn't really a long book and it wasn't really a quick read. If your looking for a woman scorned and now has 2 men vowing for her. Then this is the book.

Slow No Wake was about a young woman, Lexie who, after being cheated on by her fiance, with her sister, moves across the country to start over. Her plan is to take some time for herself, with peace and celibacy but as with life, plans rarely work out.

As she is moving into her new apartment, she meets Eddie whom she is immediately drawn to. He's the womanizer that a girl just can't resist.

"I don't do two-night stands."

As she starts her new job, she meets Daniel.

He wasn’t the type I normally went for either in looks or personality. He was more reserved and less self-assured than I was used to. He was almost the complete opposite of my ex-fiancé, which was certainly appealing, but there was more to it than that. I felt an inexplicable connection to him even though we barelyknew each other. I was sure that I wanted to get to know him
better.

Daniel and Eddie are polar opposites but she's drawn to both. Her heart wants Daniel but her body lights up for Eddie.

So because this book is short, it lacks the depth that a longer book would. This is more of a novella then a novel. It focuses on the heroine and tends to brush over a lot of details. As long as you understand this going in, you will get swept away with the story and really enjoy it.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Lexie has just been dumped by her fiancé in the worst possible way. She decides to start over in Florida and her new mantra is “Slow No Wake” as in the sailing terminology of slowing down when boats enter the marina thereby leaving no wake.

As luck would have it, she has a neighbor, surfer Eddie, who is stunningly hot and ballsy, and a co-worker Daniel of the same caliber of hotness but only much nicer than the bad boy next door. Little does she know how the paths of all three will cross but it does in a major way. The sexy innuendos between the three of them have just the right amount of angst and interest.

Overall, I really liked the story line and the chance to start over fresh after a horrible engagement. My only complaint is that I feel the story was rushed just so love proclamations could be made between Lexie and the guy she picks. It happened way too quickly, in my opinion. That is no way a reflection on the writing style of Dakota Madison, which is very good. Overall, I really enjoyed this light, quick read and would give it a solid 4 stars.

I don't know how I feel about this book.. I didn't like how Lexie cried over everything..I mean I understand about being hurt by ur ex and ur sister but I just wanted to yell at her to grow a pair..and Eddie was an ass to Daniel.. I totally would have went for Eddie, just because I like the bad boys, but if I was Daniel I would have kick his ass in college and then kick him to the curb..didn't understand that relationship.. and felt that the author could have put a little time into telling us about them and why Daniel stuck around and put up with Eddie's bs..was there something other then them just being room mates in college? because i think if it had been any normal guy, Daniel wouldn't have put up with that much crap..and I felt that the story was rushed..I think she tried to put too many people into a short story, and by the time she had all the players in place there wasn't time left for the love story..I think the concept was good, but it just didn't get there for me..

Lexie wants a drama free life. Free from waves so she makes her own catch phrase "Slow No Wake". However, she really isn't very good at abiding by her new motto. She is quickly attracted to not one but two gorgeous men that both want her bad.

While Slow No Wake is a quick and enjoyable read it's a little predictable. The characters were definitely my favorite part of this novel. Lexie's co-workers were written perfectly. Serenity and twin sister Trinity were hilarious and for some reason I ended up loving Brad. My feelings are really pretty neutral about this one. I didn't love it but I didn't hate it either.

I liked the story here but the characters annoyed me a little bit. First of all Daniel was way too insecure and over the top protective. He went through a bad breakup and is vulnerable, we get it, but dude needed to RELAX. Also Eddie was too cocky without being charming. It bugged me that every time Lexie looked at him her panties melted. WHY? Sure some people have chemistry but that usually entails liking at least one of the other person's character traits. I dunno, I liked it well enough to finish it but it left a lot to be desired for me.

This was ok. I didn't quite get why Daniel and Eddie were so close, since Eddie was a total jerk. I also didn't quite understand Lexie's desire to ruin the thing with Daniel by getting close to Eddie.
