Innocent Vareed Thekkethala (ഇന്നസെന്റ് വറീത് തെക്കേത്തല) (born 28 February 1945), popularly known as Innocent, is an Indian film actor and politician. He was born in Irinjalakuda in Thrissur district of Kerala, India. He is one of the most successful and leading comedy actors of Malayalam cinema. He is noted for his witty mannerisms and dialogue delivery in the typical Thrissur accent.

Brilliant!!! It made me cry, it made me laugh... Did not know that one of my favorite actors had so much of depth in him or such a plethora of life experiences.. And he talks about them straight from the heart... This year I am planning to have a Malayalam book in my current reads at all times and so far it has been a very fruitful journey..

വളരെ മികച്ച ഒരു ആത്മകഥ തന്നെ ആയിരുന്നു, വായിച്ചു രസിക്കാനും, അതുപോലെ തന്നെ innocent ഇന്റെ ജീവിത യാതനകൾ പറയുമ്പോൾ നൊമ്പരവും തോന്നും. വളരെ സീരിയസ് ആയ കാര്യങ്ങൾ പോലും തമാശ രീതിയിൽ എഴുതി ഭലിപ്പിക്കാൻ പറ്റിയതായി തോന്നി. മികച്ചൊരു വായന അനുഭവം തന്നെ നൽകി.

മേൽപറഞ്ഞവരികൾ ആ അദ്ധ്യായത്തിലെ അനുഭവവുമായി ചേർത്ത് വായിച്ചപ്പോൾ ലഭിച്ച അനുഭൂതി വാക്കുകളാൽ വിവരിക്കാൻ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടാണ്.

ഇന്നസെൻ്റേട്ടനെ പോലെ തന്നെ ലാളിത്യം തുളുമ്പുന്ന രസിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ആത്മകഥ.

ചിരി ,കരച്ചിൽ ,കുടുംബ ബന്ധങ്ങളുടെ ഊഷ്മളത , സിനിമയ്ക്കു പിന്നാലെയുള്ള അലച്ചിൽ , തൊഴിലില്ലായ്മ, പരാജയം , കമ്യൂണിസം തുടങ്ങി പ്രതിപാദനവിഷയങ്ങൾ നിരവധി.

അദ്ദേഹത്തിൻ്റെ സിനിമാനുഭവങ്ങൾ പ്രതീക്ഷിച്ച് ആരും വായിക്കരുത് . സിനിമക്ക് മുൻപും പിൻപുമുള്ള അനുഭവങ്ങൾ ഏറെ വന്നു പോകുന്നുണ്ടെങ്കിലും ചലച്ചിത്ര ജീവിതത്തേക്കുറിച്ച് അധികം പരാമർശിക്കുന്നില്ല

A good work from Innocent... But i think it could have been more elaborate at some places and include some more... A book that will make you cry, laugh and think at the same time...
Give the book a try it wont take much of your time to complete it and i assure you that you wont regret reading this...

They say the basis of comedy is always tragedy or difficulty in life. Innocent writes about some of his difficult moments in life. Behind all the comical roles he has played on screen is a life filled with sad moments and difficulties. From his life in Iranjalakuda to his failed business in Davengare to the harsh realities of living in Madras. This book made me cry at quite a few places...

Actor Innocent writes ornately on the adversities he faced in life prior to becoming popular in Malayalam movies. He proves that he can communicate well to others not only by acting but also through writing. The chapters are concise and simple. He shares moving memories of his relationship with his father, wife, grand children and his difficult days in Madras and Davengiri. It is through tart experiences in life that makes the character of a person well-rounded. The author had the nerve to face all of it with a smile.
