I jumped into Broken wanting to know right away how Colton and Hadley were doing and was not disappointed. Four months has passed since their wedding weekend encounters and it seems they are still going strong, madly in love and spending every free moment together, both still insatiable. Could it get any better? Unfortunately, we find out that Colton is still holding on to his secret about being married and his time has finally run out.
When Hadley is confronted with the secret in the flesh she is completely devastated. Now Colton has the chance to get the papers signed except his long lost wife Cara isn’t exactly on board. Believing he has lost Hadley for good, he knows he can’t let Cara leave again without getting her signature on those papers no matter what. Weeks without Hadley is wreaking havoc on his brain and his body and that can only lead to trouble.
After reading the first book in the series, Hindered, I really thought this book would be as light hearted, but I was sorely mistaken. I haven’t felt so emotional while reading a book in a very long time. When I finished the last page of Broken, all I could say was “Wow”. Indigo Sin has simply blown me away with her Passion Series thus far. I anxiously await the third book in the series, Redeemed. I have a feeling that Colton’s trouble is going to follow him into the next book and I can’t wait to see how he plans to fix Hadley’s broken heart and redeem himself in her eyes.
"I'm good, honey. I'm not in a dancing kind of mood...unless it's the horizontal type."
I knew it! Dammit Colton, you dumbass!
Hadley and Colton are four months in to their relationship and Hadley is as happy as could be, but she does start to notice Colton keeping some distance. Colton can't let himself be happy because of his past, but when his "past" shows up on his doorstep and he isn't the one opening the door, well let's just say sh*t hits the fan.
BROKEN was another short story, but I wasn't worried at all. It captivated me from beginning to end. It made me laugh, broke my heart, and pissed me off to no end, to the point where I was gripping my iPad a little too hard! If a 40 page book can reach out to you and pull those kind of emotions out of you, you have found a great read. When I finished BROKEN I immediately went to buy the next one, only to find it wasn't available yet, and I wanted to scream Noooooooo! But I held it in. If Indigo Sin comes up with such amazing stories, I guess I could gain some control and "try" to wait patiently.
