It's Ashley’s best friend, Brooke's birthday long weekend on a private island owned by her older brother, Grant. He is a billionaire football player who is much older than both girls but, Ashley’s eyes couldn't help gazing at his perfectly honed body when she joined them four years ago, at eighteen and she sat on his lap when she drank too much. Where he quickly deposited her to the floor with a thump. Embarrassment still burns her cheeks. So, knowing everyone else is running behind has her on edge. As she walks the dock toward the main house she sees him. Yup, still there lust and embarrassment.
He is very laid-back and walks her to her cabana, telling her that, Brooke had told him about her ex, and that he wants her to feel safe, and relaxed for the weekend. Once she’s settled she goes in search of, Grant, and she is happy to see more have arrived. They have a chef, a woman who oversees and runs the house, a handyman, and a boat captain. Sparks fly quickly between, Ashley and, Grant and it's him making the moves.
Coming off a more than horrible relationship, and remembering how humiliated she felt the last time she was around, Grant makes her unsure. Not to mention she knows how worried, Brooke is about her friends hooking up with her brother, and that includes the gold-digging aspect of it all. Plus, her big brother had been hurt recently and she was extra protective.
What I didn't like was the way that he played her the next morning, after their night together. That was BS. He rebutted three times and the final dinner with the whole gang when he came back from the supposed business, more like funny business, Ashley believed and gave him the same treatment it didn't sit as comfortable. Touché I say to her. But, when danger and betrayal hit the Island of, Orchid Bay it's a defining moment for, Grant. He knows what he wants going forward in his life, and that means one of the two women might be upset.
