DESCRIPTION FOR FAT VAMPIRE (BOOK 1):
When overweight treadmill salesman Reginald Baskin finally meets a co-worker who doesn't make fun of him, it's just his own bad luck that tech guy Maurice turns out to be a two thousand-year-old vampire.
And when Maurice turns Reginald to save his life, it's just Reginald's own further bad luck that he wakes up to discover he's become the slowest, weakest, most out-of-shape vampire ever born, doomed to "heal" to his corpulent self for all of eternity.
As Reginald struggles with the downsides of being a fat vampire -- too slow to catch people to feed on, mocked by those he tries to glamour, assaulted by his intended prey and left for undead -- he discovers in himself rare powers that few vampires have… and just in time too, because the Vampire Council might just want his head for being an inferior representative of their race.
Fat Vampire is the story of an unlikely hero who, after having an imperfect eternity shoved into his grease-stained hands, must learn to turn the afterlife's lemons into tasty lemon danishes.
Johnny B. Truant is an author, blogger, and podcaster who, like the Ramones, was long denied induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame despite having a large cult following. He makes his online home at JohnnyBTruant.com and is the author of the Unicorn Western series, the Fat Vampire series, The Bialy Pimps, and a handful of other properties and growing every week.
You can connect with Johnny on Twitter at @JohnnyBTruant, and you should totally send him an email from JohnnyBTruant.com if the mood strikes you.

Fat Vampire #1 Value Meal (Fat Vampire #1-3) Fat Vampire Value Meal (Fat Vampire #1-4) Fat Vampire Big Fat Box Set (Fat Vampire #1-6)
So Reginald is not your typical vampire, having been turned while being obese and out of shape. Since his new vampire powers didn't exactly work wonders with his body, he becomes the brightest vampire possibly ever.but is the intelligence enough to find a way for the world to survive the inevitable human-Vampire conflict?
Warning: This value meal is worth absolutely every penny, but it will leave you wanting more. If you like the Look Inside sample, maybe it'd be best to just go ahead and buy the Big Fat Box Set. Either way, you're going to want the last two books when you finish reading the fourth (and not because of cheap cliffhangers; because of its sheer awesomeness), so plan accordingly.
I started reading the Fat Vampire Value Meal on a really bad day. I was sick, in a bad mood, nothing was going right. By the middle of the first chapter I was laughing so hard I couldn't stop coughing. Every description was so perfect and so pin-point accurate.
The characterization is where these books really shine. Everyone is so human (even the vampires, no matter what they wanted to believe). I loved Reginald, and Todd Walker was hilarious, but by the end of Book 3, Claire had become my favorite character. Watching her personality develop as she grows up and as the world goes to hell around her is so much fun. ("Booga-booga." Jazz hands.) I can't wait to see how the author utilizes her in the last two Fat Vampire books.
Don't get me wrong, some terrible, dark things happen in this series. It's just that even when things get darkest, there's no cut-and-dry Everyone Be Sad Now or Everyone Be Scared Now scene. Just like in real life, the comedy and the horror exist side-by-side.
This is a well-written, hilarious, entertaining series, and it puts a refreshing twist on a genre filled with beautiful, brooding vampires and skin-deep attraction. I can't recommend it highly enough.
This series is not your average vamp story. No glittering vampires here! We have fat ones. Reginald is such a great and well rounded character (pun intended). His journey becoming a vampire is comical and emotional. I was at a point where I felt so bad for him and his continuous struggles in the beginning, but his sarcasm and humor turns it around. Not to mention his vamp genius and powers. The supporting characters are great too. I fell in love with Claire. This series has plenty of drama and intense situations that will keep you reading and wanting more.
This Value Meal was more than worth the price, and I would gladly pay full price for these books in print. I was a bit sad when I finished because I only wanted more!
A leap away from your average, generic vampire story, these are true gems. The creativity of the author is apparent in the first page of the text and all it does is suck you in until you realize you've finished the book. Then you feel that insatiable hunger that the characters must feel when blood lust hits: you just need more.
I would DEFINITELY recommend these books, either as the value meal or individually, if you appreciate some dark, dry wit and comical, inappropriate character development.
Reginald and Maurice just can't seem to stay out of trouble. Trouble with the council, trouble with angels, trouble with rogue vampires; there's trouble everywhere and I love reading about it! These books are great pieces of fiction disguised as comedy and Johnny B. Truant has a lighthearted way of writing about serious (vampire) issues. Book 5 better be coming soon or I swear I'll burn this mutha down! Stop what you're doing and read this now!
Vampires are sleek, sensual agile creatures of the night, charming their victims into sharing their most personal possession, blood..... except for Reginald, unprepared for vampirehood, 350 pounds, out of shape, and treated as badly as a vampire as he was as human. Truant spins an entertaining yarn, the first four volumes (of 6) in this collection. not a huge fan of vampire stories but when they're done right they are fun, and this was a fun read.
This was a great alternative to the more popular style of vampire characters out there. I got the series for $.99 on a Kindle deal and would gladly pay full price for the set, in fact since the series continues, it's on my "to be read/purchased" list.
It's definitely light reading but greatly entertaining.
I liked the humor in this series. This bundle contains the first 4 books in the series. I also have #5 and #6 in the series and will finish the series soon.
