Can she love the man responsible for her sister's death?

The son of her murdered sister needs her, and Audrey Hughes is determined not only to care for her nephew, but to find her sister's killer--with or without a sexy marshal's help.

Lana's death was his fault. Catching her killer proves difficult for undercover US Marshal Alejandro Santiago when his mission changes to protecting her son and the enticingly and beautifully reckless Audrey.

An interracial romantic suspense with a bit of faith weaved in.

I originally intended to read only the first chapter of this book as I was already engrossed in another title. Well I ended up reading the entire book in one sitting. Alejandro is an undercover US Marshall struggling with his issues of abandonment and the need for intimacy despite having a job that doesn't permit solid attachments. Audrey comes to Texas at the insistence of her little sister (Penny) only to find out that Penny is dead and the man responsible is none other than the scorching hot Alejandro. The two are almost immediately drawn to each other and then the action begins!

Alejandro is raw, unfiltered testosterone swelling with masculinity from his bulging biceps to his sculpted pectorals, but he's more than just hot. Chase manages to fully develop a character torn between his undercover world of lawlessness and his role as law enforcer, and struggling to reconcile his painful past with his duty to protect and serve. You get the guns, adrenaline, drive-bys and bad guys, but you also get a story about love, faith, and second chances. Chase handles the sensuality between the main characters responsibly, with several heart melting scenes, but sometimes I felt it was a bit too much. She has a gift for creating chemistry and pulse fluttering moments, without her characters ending up horizontal--a rarity in today's literary atmosphere. Still, despite some slight heavy-handedness in the romance department, the story is so compelling, suspenseful and downright fun that I could not find much not to like. Another plus for the book is the author's background in criminal justice, which lends an air of authenticity to the story and enables it to come to life without the reader having to suspend too much disbelief.

In sum, the characters are three dimensional and accessible, the plot is believable and fun, the action and tension handled brilliantly, and the moral of faith, forgiveness, and second chances flows naturally without feeling forced or tacked on. Bravo again to Chase for crafting an intelligent, romantic, drama, that's sensual, enthralling, and, most importantly, completely clean!

Can't wait until the third installment, Ricardo, comes out!

Alejandro story was brilliant, it had everything going on in it. Forgiveness, love, redemption, faith, hope, grace and mercy.

A beautiful yet complicated love story between U.S Marshall Alejandro (Ale) and Audrey. These two people who to the outsider appear so wrong for each other but in God's eyes it was so right. Reconciliation between the mother and the brother. A pending fatherhood to Angel and learning to let go and let God.

This story had heart stopping excitement of being undercover to take down drug lords. I was so nervous half the time lol!! There was a surprising twist that I didn't see coming either.

It was great to briefly connect with Rafa and Genie from book 1. And hopefully baby brother Ricardo's story is next.

I am definitely looking forward to reading more stories from Author K. Victoria Chase

Generally I felt this book was well-developed, well-written, entertaining, with great characters and a lot of romance, danger, and very evil villains, but oh, so predictable. The big problem--a plot that lacks freshness and originality, this story has been done before, so many times. Is there anybody out there who's never read a book in which a protective cop is thrown together with a damsel in danger and they (gasp) fall in love...then this is a good book for you.

This was an easy read. I enjoyed reading this story, but wish That I had waited to read the first in the series before reading this one! Looking forward to the 3rd book in the series! This book did stand alone very well! Wasn't necessary to read the first one in order to read this one! Just made me WANT to!

Alexandria like his brother Raphael has some deep wounds that need healing . This was a book I just couldn't put down, I loved the drama, murders, and romance but it seemed that the ending was rushed.

I liked it, but it wasn't as well done as book 1. There were more plot inconsistencies than in the first book, and some editorial issues. First, the whole story felt rushed. The coincidence of these two people having known each other in the past in another state/city is too much. And when is it ever determined that the hero recognizes the heroine from the past, and why would he? If he did, did he recognize her sister? Why would the hero be compelled to kiss the heroine moments after meeting her? And be continually be grabbing her throughout the book, without any objection on her part? Why would he endanger her by constantly flitting between his "deep cover" garage job and the safe house, when he could be tailed by the suspicious bad guys? There were many other little inconsistencies that a good editing would have caught. And the editor missed grammatical (tense) and word choice issues (for example, "exude" was used incorrectly). I really want to support this author because I respect that she is trying to provide a truly suspenseful romance that is not laden with sex scenes. But a bit more attention to detail is needed.

This romantic suspense story was action packed and kept you on the edge of your seat. An undercover US Marshall in San Antonio lost his informant to a brutal murder by the drug lord he was working for. She had escaped the drug lord 5 years earlier when she found out she was pregnant. Alejandro convinced her to get close to him one last time in order to bring him and the guy in charge of him down. Alejandro not only did not know her real name but also didn't know she had a 5 year old boy.

Lana, who was actually Penny, knew she was not going to survive so she made sure a letter would be sent to her estranged older sister in Virginia. Audrey and Alejandro met in unusual circumstances and when he realized who she was it made him determined to protect her and the boy as he held himself responsible for the murder of her sister.

The Christian romantic suspense is full of redemption, forgiveness and love. It is well written and a wonderful read.

Alejandro is the 2nd book I have read by this author - K Victoria Chase. It is the story of the oldest Santiago brother - an undercover officer who has been wounded in spirit for many years. The story is mysterious and sensual. An informant of his has been killed, her sister arrives, and the drama begins. Audrey is the estranged sister of Lana/Penny. She encounters Alejandro in a dangerous situation but sparks fly immediately.

Alejandro has a brother who is engaged to Audrey's BFF. Will Alejandro trust this woman who knows more than he wants her to? Will her beliefs help him to overcome pain from his childhood? Will he be able to help her solve who really killed her sister?

Great read with great characters..Can't wait to read about the last brother in this family..

Alejandro .......... This was a great story and Alejandro is my favorite Santiago brother. So much bitterness towards his mother for sending him away from home at 18 and hatred for the father that left them and never once came back. A loner by nature turned his life around for the good. Tried fighting love but it was a losing battle. Love conquers all and Ale was no different! Great story, great read

Audrey and Alejandro tragedy has a way of bonding

The past has a way of bringing about a change that makes the present hard to live. I liked this story because it was a story of redemption. You see how circumstances beyond ones control lead them to make choices that changes the direction of their life. Aubrey and Alejandro past forged them in each other lives. Faith kept them and opened their hearts to forgiveness and love.

Lovin' the Santiago brothers.
Didn't think Ale was going to make it. Wonder who blew Ale's cover. Poor Penny (Lana) Tru got off to easy. Not only did he kill Penny (Lana) but also Carlos he must have found out that Carlos was father of Penny's son Angel instead of him.

Now on to read about Ricardo and Melody the baby of the Santiago family and Mel Ale's partner.

Them Santiago Brothers!

Alejandro! Alejandro! The beginning is a trite slow, but it all gains momentum according to the story line. A good read especially if you have read Rafael. The test of trust, faith and forgiveness are overriding factors.
