Приемайки да прочета тази книга бях малко скептично настроена, че а) би ми харесала и б) би ми повлияла на цялостното настроение към четенето в момента. Чиклитът по принцип не е моят жанр, но явно Мишел Куна е от авторките, които го умеят. Първоначално въртях отегчено очи, от толкова безбройни и лутащи се мисли на героинята започваше да ме боли глава - в нейната глава беше някаква страхотна какофония и една мисъл скачаше към друга, последвана от хиляди обяснения. После обаче някак четенето ми потръгна. В момента, в който Роузи срещна Люк и коленете й омекнаха нещо привлече вниманието ми. Успях да усетя емоцията и искрите, които прехвърчаха между тях. И разбира се като при всеки добър чиклит - имахме и тук зла героиня в лицето на злобна братовчедка интригантка, която не може да позволи на хората около нея да са щастливи и постоянно се меси навсякъде, за да съсипе всичко. Имахме майка-закрилница, която се обажда по 20 пъти на ден. Имахме и добрите приятелки, които си знаят и кътните зъби, точно в стил Сексът и градът. Имахме и любовен триъгълник, макар че на всички им е ясно още от началото кой ще избере главната героиня, само на нея не. И разбира се имахме един мелодраматичен и изпълнен с фойерверки финал напълно в стила на Холмарк (не, че гледам Холмарк). Та от всичко изброено мога да кажа, че книгата си заслужаваше и дори ме накара да се усмихна на няколко закачки. Успя да ме зареди с добро настроение за няколко часа и да остави приятен после-вкус след края си. Давам й 4*

Ще ги чета и препрочитам тези книги, докато страниците им се изтрият.Толкова свежо чувство за хумор има авторката, че няма да ми омръзне никога. Страхотни диалози. Въобще жалко , че е написала само 3 такива . Още по-жалък е факта,че толкова малко писатели умеят това.
И четох,четох до ранни зори, как пък не ми се доспа. Когато съвсем вземе да ми липсва сън,ще върна обратно към купа от нови книги , които си купих тази година и се чудя какво да правя с тях.

Определено много точно заключение е направила авторката, че "Мъж и обувки по мярка се намират дяволски трудно".
Сладурски са ми тези книги, независимо че са по-наивни.
Имам чувството , че в тях са описани част от истинските приключения на авторката.
Героините й са дребнички като самата нея.
И по някои неща доста си приличат.
Ще ми липсва нейния забавен стил, без цинизми и крайности.

Daca treci peste alegerile teribile in materie de parteneri ale lui Rosie, ce rămâne este o carte ușoară, amuzantă, de citit vara pe plajă.
Nu știu de ce, dar astfel de povești sunt mai ușor de tolerat într-un film decât într-o carte. Există nenumărate filme, din categoria romantice, fix cu acest gen de acțiune / dramă (tot timpul cât citeam mi-a venit în minte seria Bridget Jones) care sunt foarte îndrăgite. Să fie oare mai ușor de acceptat așa poveste daca îți zâmbește tot timpul când ia decizii stupide o actriță pe care o placi?

I started reading this book in Jamaica and just finished it. I’d read her other two books, 32AA and Call Waiting, awhile ago and picked up her latest a few months ago. This book is from the chick-lit genre, and I really enjoyed her light and fast-paced style of writing in her first book. I didn’t really like the second one that much, it seemed like she just had to write it to follow up on the success of her first book. Her most recent book draws on a different set of characters and takes place in London. I don’t think she developed the characters as best as she could, but the prose was flowing and fast-paced. I could read a chapter in no time flat and then put it down for a day or so and pick right back up. The book covers the dating/relationship life of Rosie Mayford and her close group of friends. There are nefarious relatives, close friends, and a host of boyfriends to keep the book from ever being dull. But, in the end, I’d have to recommend her first book over the next two.

This book is good for the simple fact that it follows the chick-lit formula. I've come to find a substantial difference between British chick-lit and American, and this might be a cultural thing, but I find that most British chick-lit authors spend too much time making it "realistic" and less time on the acutal quality of the writing.
But back to the book. This story takes way too much time with scenes going back-and-forth with Rosie (the protaganist) and her friends. It also spends a fair amount of time on plot lines of Rosie's friends, and the plot seems to be moved along by this or that event, this or that party where Rosie will run into her "Dr. Love."
The characters themselves are dry and flat. Rosie is mildly entertaining, but she doensn't have much depth. You have to search for enjoyment in this book. I finished it for the simple reason of needing some kind of chick-lit-y comfort, no matter how hollow it came across.

this is a new author to me and once I finished this novel, I went looking for more books by her. Good story quite enjoyable.

Încă o carte despre care am sentimente ușor contradictorii. Și nu e pentru că ar fi fost o carte rea. Dar să o iau de la început.
Cartea asta prezintă povestea lui Rosie. Pare că totul merge destul de bine în viața ei, până la o strângere de fonduri de Crăciun, unde lucrurile nu merg tocmai bine, iar apoi la câteva zile după Crăciun iubitul ei, Jonathan, se desparte de ea printr-un mesaj lăsat pe robotul telefonic. În același timp, întâlnește un străin arătos și simpatic, dar nici el nu e chiar așa cum pare.
Mda, rezumatul nu e chiar cel mai bun, dar nu știu cum să-l scriu altfel fără să îl umplu de spoilere.
Cartea asta mi-a plăcut cam în proporție de 70-80%, mai exact până aproape de final. A fost o carte destul de amuzantă, adică Rosie făcea ce făcea și ajungea în niște situații nu foarte amuzante pentru ea, dar pentru cititor da. Ori din cauza mamei sau a bunicii ei, care mi s-au părut atât de simpatice, în condițiile în care cunosc pe cineva care se apropie ca și personalitate de una din ele; ori din cauza companiei ei și a clienților mai ciudați, sau din multe alte motive. Chiar m-am distrat citind-o, cu toate că personajul verișoarei ei, Elaine, e un tip de persoană de o răutate pură, deși nu am reușit să înțeleg exact de ce este așa, dar nu mai contează.
Și chiar mi-a plăcut de acel străin misterios, serios. Era așa simpatic și amuzant și așa mai departe. Asta până să aflu mai multe despre el. Iar apoi, când am aflat întreaga poveste... pur și simplu a părut un pic cam mult, adică aș fi putut crede totul până la un punct, iar acel punct a fost ușor depășit.
Iar finalul ăla a fost exact ce te-ai fi așteptat să fie după tot ce se întâmplase. Și nu m-ar fi deranjat asta, pentru că am văzut suficiente filme cu genul ăsta de final, doar că aici, din cauza unui alt detaliu menționat abia atunci, a fost un pic cam mult. Și îmi plac finalurile fericite, serios, doar că ăsta m-a lăsat un pic rece. Nu atât finalul în sine, ci modul în care s-a desfășurat el, dacă înțelegeți ce vreau să zic.
Aș recomanda totuși cartea, pentru că în cele din urmă e amuzantă și era exact ceea ce aveam eu nevoie să citesc, și e ușor de citit. Dacă vreți ceva nu foarte serios și cu happy-end, atunci probabil v-ar plăcea cartea asta.

I was extremely disappointed by the predictability of the story and the annoying behavior of the characters. The most disturbing part is the lack of development in almost all of the plot points. A situation will arise and there will be a set-up for a new turn in the story, but instead of fleshing it out or explaining it, the author jumps forward in the timeline and ties up the loose ends with something along the lines of..."Oh! By the way, that situation involving so-and-so turned out to be no big deal, so they just worried over nothing. That's all." What?!? After the set-up of something important, that's how it is explained?
I'm just happy that this wasn't Cunnah's debut novel, although it certainly read like it could have been. Skip this one and read 32AA and Call Waiting instead.

This is the story of Rosie, who is a co-owner of her own employment agency in London. Rosie has colorful relatives, loyal friends, and terrible taste in men. But one day, she sits down at her cousin's wedding reception only to realize that she's been to bed with every single man at the table.
That's what the back of the book says. Rosie isn't quite such a slut, though, unfortunately. The men were spread over many years.

I really liked this story in spite of the main character, Rosie. For the most part, I loved her, but I got sick of the daydreams about Dr. Love and her stubborn streak to not let him explain the situation. If I could've, I would've slapped her upside the head and told her to keep her mouth shut. But, the ending made up very nicely for all that. :)

I picked this one up in the cheap bin at Barnes and Noble one day, and while I haven't finished it yet, it's been mind-numbingly entertaining. I'm always looking for something I can pick up occasionally and just laugh--this fits the bill.

Perfect book for commuting, travel or beach. You do not get very attached to the characters so you don't mind if you get interrupted. That said, it was cute and followed the chick-lit protocol. Didn't change my life, but I don't regret reading it, either.

I liked the idea of it more than the execution. The story jumps around too much - I found it really hard to keep track of the author's timelines. And the end scene was like something out of a movie I'd already seen - too predictable.

This was a truly fun read! It wasn't a hard read by any means, and the characters lack a certain depth, but I enjoyed the lightness of the book, and it kept me busy on my plane ride. Pick it up for a quick distraction :)

Fluffy and enjoyable. I like Cunnah's style and really liked 32AA and Call Waiting. Those 2 are much better than this one. Or maybe it was just the cover that made me embarassed to read it in public.

This book was hilarious and the side stories at the end amazing. I recommend this book to anyone looking for an easy entertaining read.

The part in the airport, although it was a bit predictable, had me rooting for Rosie. This book was a quick read and more enjoyable than I was expecting.

A cute fast read. The only thing I didn't like about this book was the character of Elaine gosh what a witch! Other than that if your looking for a easy,fun read I'd recommend this book.
