What a volume! This has to be one of the most tension-filled volumes of the series so far! So much happens in this volume in such a short time!

*WARNING: SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT READ PREVIOUS VOLUMES! STOP NOW.

In this volume we get a lot of Sho once again. GAH, I hate him! Arrogant jerk! so Sho actually has the nerve to 'kidnap' Kyoko and goes off on here and questions her (big surprise right?) then he pushes her to say that she has no feelings for Ren. He then tries to use this information to get a rise out of Ren. But with Ren's mood swings it may not be the wisest of ideas....

Meanwhile Sho's questioning about Ren has Kyoko wondering what she does feel. After all volumes up until recently it must be quite the internal battle. And Kijima! What is his game? I don't think he is bad but I just don't trust him either, yet something about him reminds me of a boy with a crush.

Then there is Ren. Ren who is in such an internal dilemma. I love his character! In this volume he not only witnesses Kyoko with Sho, he gets ambushed by Sho and then gets a third rude interruption! With all this tension, I am surprised he keeps (mostly) holding things together!

This book is not as dark as the last volume but the tensions more than make up for it. And the end! How can it stop where id does?! Major cliffie! So many drastic turning points can now happen! This is one of my favorite series! I love it!

LOVE this manga. It is my absolute favorite! At times, it is crazy, but it is so entertaining. Romance, comedy, some "paranormal" if you look very, very closely. Basically, just a great read :)

I'm getting super frustrated with this manga because I want Kyouko to find out about Kuon (...as of like... 100+ acts ago) but it just never seems like it's going to happen and I want it nowwwww ;u;

I enjoyed the addition of Shou in this volume - especially with his using Mimori to basically kidnap Kyouko (...I mean, they handcuffed her and everything so she couldn't get away) which really shows just how obsessed with her is is (poor little Shou :P)
To be honest, with the way Kyouko and Shou's relationship is going as this series continues, it seems like they might be moving towards a more sibling-like relationship (...as in the love/hate sibling relationship where you can destroy the other but if anyone else tries it they die) :P

And on top of that, Ren's "inner Kuon" seems to be coming to the surface and he is... DARK o.O
What the heck happened to make Kyouko's Kuon turn into this being? WHAT HAPPENED TO POOR BABY CORN.

Warning: Spoilers

This series continues to be one of my favorites. Kyoko is a character with just the right amount of naiveté, crazy, modesty and determination. She never fails to keep me amused.

This volume opens up with Sho waiting for Kyoko at the gate to her school. With the assistance on one of her schoolmates, Sho abducts Kyoko so he can talk to her. Sho is angry and disappointed in Kyoko because he believes she let Mr. Kijima flirt with her because she let him dress her up for the Dark Moon wrap party (back in volume 29). He tells her that when a man buys clothes for a woman, he wants to have sex with her. Kyoko, being the naïve soul she is, starts to freak out. He berates her and tells her she'll never become famous and beat him if she is obsessed with men.

Cut to Ren being questioned by Kijima who is wanting to know when Kyoko's birthday is. Ren tells him, but then gets icy when Kijima taunts him that Kyoko doesn't send Ren any emails. Ren confesses that he doesn't have Kyoko's email address because if he wants to communicate with her, he'd rather pick up the phone to hear her voice. Kijima assumes that Ren is saying he likes Kyoko. Is Ren finally admitting he likes Kyoko?

Back to Sho, he drops Kyoko off where she needs to work otherwise she would be late. Unfortunately, Ren sees her in the car with Sho. She freaks out figuring he will be angry with her. Once out of the car, Sho realizes Kyoko is worked up because Ren saw them together. Still trying to manipulate her after all this time, he won't let her leave until she confesses that she doesn't care about Ren.

Sho corners Ren so he can throw it in his face, but Ren doesn't rise to the bait. Later, Sho broods about Ren and Kyoko, telling himself that Kyoko is stupid and easily duped. He assumes Ren is going to take advantage of her eventually.

Kyoko returns to the hotel room where Ren awaits so they can resume their Heel siblings persona. But right after she gets to their room, her phone rings. When they are the heel siblings, she turns her phone off so she can stay in character. So, she is surprised by her phone ringing. When she sees no Caller ID on the phone, she realizes it's Sho. Before she can turn the phone off, Ren takes the phone out of her hand and tosses it. He then grills her wanting to know if the call was from Sho and if she is still in contact with him. The problem is it wasn't Ren talking to her and it wasn't the character of Cain Heel. So who is she talking to now?

This volume was so full of tension between the characters and it seems like the series is finally starting to wind down. I really can't wait to find out what happens to these characters. The problem is Volume 33 doesn't come out until 09/02/14! Whaaat?????

Hehehe, there may not have been many moments that I broke out laughing in this particular section of Skip Beat but there were sure moments that I thought I might die inside. Things aren't looking up for young love in this novel and poor Tsuruga seems to be steadily losing his mind... I hope things go well in the next novel... I really, really do.

All the the men interested in Kyoko are either dumb or assholes. Fuck Sho. His bully persona isn't doing anything for me in this reread. Kijima is flirty at least even with skewed intentions. Ren is the least offensive because he's trying his hardest to resist and not prioritize himself over Kyoko's comfort. Until ... well, the rivaly between Sho and Ren still hits. Now the biggest test is in the next volume.

Repeated review.

I am so uninterested in this series, but I want to see it through. I won’t be making proper reviews for it anymore since my thoughts are just generally the same all the time anyway (lots of annoyance/anger for some volumes now); my rating will tell you if I liked or disliked it. You can safely assume, however, that I still despise Sho and Ren, and everyone else, but Kyo and her bestie (who sometimes isn’t around and sometimes is, much like Sho).

Sho is blatantly jealous of Ren and Kyoko, although he seems to act like a concerned brother. He urges Kyoko to make a promise that will keep her inexorably tied to him. Yashiro is very good at perceiving Ren's tormented personality from the very beginning. The scenes depicting the characters' fantasies are comical. A very unexpected ending.
