This is a story of miracles, both big and small, and the story of one little boy born sixteen weeks early, weighing only one-and-a half pounds.
Nathaniel Wilcox needed a miracle.
He wasn’t expected to make it through the night.
This is Nathanial's story of his five month journey to survive, and how he touched the hearts of everyone who cared for him. This is the story of how one family managed to overcome tragedy and despair, to find a renewed faith in each other and in God.
Heart wrenching and melting your heart! This story tells of a premature baby’s first couple of mouths of life told through the eyes of the dad. As is normal for a preemie, life in the NICU is a series of ups and downs. Truly inspiring and a great read!
Wow. Jim and Mary Wilcox live down the street from me, and I've had the pleasure of getting to know them and their three beautiful children since moving into our house four years ago. I know Mary as the mom who is always behind the block party and the first to set up our happy hours and Jim as the dad supervising his sons' lawn care enterprise. They are amazing people. It is a blessing to have neighbors who become friends. These are people I really admire and who I consider parenting mentors.
OK, now to the book. I knew Nathaniel was born early, but until this book came out last spring, I didn't realize how early. This book is written almost like a journal and feels very raw. At times I felt a little odd reading it because I felt like I was peeping into a very private time for Jim and Mary. It feels that real and I think I had tears in my eyes throughout the entire book. Lots of good stuff about faith and the mysterious ways God works through all of us.
My twins were born six weeks early and were each 4 lbs. I cannot imagine how small Nathaniel must have been when he was born. The ups and downs of the baby's first months were related in detail and I found the medical descriptions quite interesting. Overall a remarkable journey.
Moving, poignant; a book to bring hope and joy. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. A revealing look at Mr Wilcox's own experience that will break hearts and refill them with hope for miracles.
This book and story are indeed about a Miracle Child. I couldn't put it down and read it almost straight through. I needed to turn the pages, to reach the end, and I can't imagine the crushing fear and faith needed for the author and his wife to survive not a day, but weeks and then months, of having a child born at less than half-term.
Read this book for the amazing story that James P Wilcox tells about hs Miracle Child. Be ready to be moved by the whole experience.
You still had to continue reading to find out what happens next. It is an engrossing book about! about a little one who had a lot of problems to overcome!
