I guess I am YAH (Young At Heart). I loved this installment !!! Ferntree Falls may seem like a sleepy, touristy, little hamlet ... but it has many secrets and many interesting people living there. Magick is a way of life at Ferntree Falls !!!

These characters come to life under the creative imagination of Patti Roberts and you find yourself loving some of them, and disliking some of them. Patti has outdone herself, and I cannot wait for the next installment to arrive !!!

Alexandria deals with arriving back at her ancestral home, getting to know the locals, and personal plight. A short read, well worth your time!!

Witchwood Estate - Ferntree Falls is filled with a world full of magic, mystery , evil and so much more.

Patti certainly has a way with words. Her in-depth details create such a vivid and deliciously detailed accounts, of all the super natural’s and all magical , lurking in the woods as well as the surroundings.

This second instalment of this book I loved even more so - then the first. Patti has spent many hours giving the reader details amounts of information at the back of her book in which she gives the reader much insight into all things witchy and magical.

I spend a long time highlighting and reading this information as I found it mysterious and certainly intriguing.

Patti creates a wonderful world of intrigue in Ferntree Falls, - Witchwood estate. We meet evil - and many more characters that I can’t wait to see more of.

Kat was an exceptional character - (grins) she was certainly a bold and strong witch that I thought would be good for Alex.

After reading those last words however - I was even more curious to find out WHAT IS GOING ON!

Patti has now left me on the edge of my seat - Eagerly anticipating book three to find out how Kat and Alexandria’s friendship and association pans out.

This book will appeal to any aged readers and I have to say that as magical as it is, it will be certainly one I will be passing along to my daughter to read when the time comes.

I enjoyed the back story - of Alexandria going back and remembering bits and pieces from her previous life In Witchwood .It gave us a little insight into her close relationship and love for her parents.

'The story moves along swiftly and there's never a dull moment. As a reader you’re flipping through every page just waiting for more to unravel.

I look forward to more of this TV instalment type series, and I’m sure it will be even as magical as the last two.

I’m off to make myself a SKULLCAP- (till the next adventure)

Episode 2 (smiling) Alexandria and Andrew couldn't be more different while being in the same place in life. So lost and needing to find him. Both thinking this bus will bring them there. Was Alexandria going to get a bug surprise!

Young at heart fun again. Good and evil are brought to light more prevalently. Now we have white wolves stalking or being nosey at least.. And a movie star quality rich daddy's girl/witch of questionable intent!! To the gum smacking bird hating deadbeat loser caretaker Raymond and his mousey wanna-be like Lewis Carroll deadly chocolate cake baking wife Vera! Ohhhh there is one more...well sort of two but I'll wait till later to introduce her.

What seems like a quaint little tourism township, and having spent five years raising kids in one of them in Mass myself, is only for the visiting eyes, a nice car, some spiffy paint it seems, a few fancy belly rings and chocolate cake seem to mask many underlying crazy and insane personalities.

Miss Roberts folded up Grandma's lace and slipped on a pair of hip waders to write about some of the bad guys! Raymond? Sheesh! That man is 31 flavors of wrong! His wife Vera? Her cookies done crumbled! But Carmon? She is who I waited to mention. Ohhhh i think she will be the villainesses I am going to love to hate!! Plus I'm pretty sure her snakes name is the one I suggested!! Who doesn't like the name Tiamat!?!

I loved it! Everyone go grab them both Episode 3 can't get her fast enough!!

Now on a very serious technical note. The glossary is amazing and thorough. As a former teaching High Priestess who has run her own book, charm, herb and oil shop as well as been a Coven leader your inclusion of such extensive info is very impressive.

Not only did book 2 follow perfectly where book 1 ended but exploded into page turning amazement. In book 2, not only did we get further into the life of Alexandria but also deeper into the past of the Harvey witches and the history of Ferntree falls. Author Patti Roberts has a natural talent of creating her world for you with such fine tuned detail so that you are not bored to death with detail. The reader is so sucked into the detail that you do not realize how far into the world you have fallen until you reach the end of the book and frantically search for more to read of it. (My poor kindle took a beating trying to find more pages)!!!

As I said in my review of Book 1, I love how Alexandria just EMBRACES her heritage and is ready and willing to jump into this new life at the tender age of seventeen and learn everything she can. I so adore her so much even though she is SHATTERED inside.

The end of the book 2 of course left me frantic for more. I was desperate to read more and was SO happy that I had book 3 ready and waiting for me. I was behind on this series not because I was not interested but have been so busy. I am so glad I had book 3 to immediately start on. I got about 3/4 of the way through it before I fell asleep (about 3 or 4 am seriously). These are short stories but they are so intense and so full of amazing story line that you find it so hard to find a "good" stopping point!

I am so glad I was suggested to read these books. Patti Roberts captures your attention in the first paragraph.
I try to write reviews without being a spoiler but also to do the author and their work justice.

These books are about a young girl who learns that she is a witch, she embraces her destiny with courage and grace. She has just turned 17 and is going home to Witchwood Estate to claim her birth right. Along her journey home there are forces, unbeknownst to her, that are trying to prevent the return of a Harvey Witch to Ferntree Falls and Witchwood Estate.

Patti Roberts' ability to transport you to FernTree and describe her journey from the cottage the young witch grew up in with the Barnabys to her destination at Witchwood is amazing. Not only does she include what looks like the actual parchment the spells are written on, but the second book has a glossary that is thorough and required a lot of research on the author's part. I may even use the glossary for my own homeopathic uses.

The end of each book also leaves you begging for more and with that said I CANNOT wait for the 3rd book in this series "Cursed" to be released. I must also say that I could easily see this series becoming a movie or even better a TV series that would rival other paranormal series. I'm now going to search Amazon for more Patti Roberts books because I ABSOLUTELY LOVE her writing style, imagination and eloquence!!!!!

Further Down The Path...

This series must be read in order. The first book is Witchwood Estate-Going Home. This is the second book.

Alexandria has finally made it home and boy has it changed! But then I guess 12 years will do that... The town still has all its colonial charm and old-fashioned buildings but new buildings and danger lurk around unseen corners. Is Alexandria up for the homecoming she has been waiting for all her life or will she find she is in over her head?

I really don't want to say too much so as to not give away any surprises in the plot line... just let me say this book is full of enough suspense and supernatural elements to make up for it's episodic nature! I really enjoyed it and can not wait to read the next episode Cursed!!!

***This series is suitable for mature young adult through adult readers who enjoy a bit of a fractured fairytale vibe in their modern paranormal small town fantasy action adventure coming of age suspense mystery thrillers with plenty of intrigue and romance as well as a dash or two of horror :)

I was pleasantly surprised that this book picked up exactly where it needed to.

In the first book Alexandria had pretty much just finished the trip and was awaiting her ride. With her new friend? Andrew beside her.. in a sense anyways.. This book brings us deeper into the characters that we meet. And boy are they an interesting bunch that is for sure. And soon it becomes clear that some people do not want her back in town.. Who can she trust? The story was about the same length as the first and as an added bonus there is special extras in the back such as The Harvey Witches Terminology and Plants, Animal Symbols, and other interesting stuff to learn about.. Which I rather enjoy reading more about stuff like that, it helps to get a better feel of the story. This "Episode" ended with Alexandria in a not so good situation.. Wonder what happens next?

Me too...

Ms Roberts truly never disappoints, and this second instalment of the Witchwood Estate story is certainly no exception. In Ferntree Falls, we are introduced to the scene of the main action, and meet some more of the nastier characters. Roberts is at her best with the bad guys, and you cannot fail to hate Rotten Raymond and Vile Vera. The action moves quickly, but not too fast to give the reader a clear, detailed look at what is happening, and at the lovely, technicolour descriptions for which Ms Roberts is noted.

I enjoyed this episode very, very much, and the only thing I don't like about it is that I can't get my hands on the whole thing all at once! I keenly await the next instalment. The Witchwood Estate saga is exciting, it's well-written, but above all, it's fun!

This is a series of short stories that follow a young girl that lost her parents when she was little. Now she is returning to the home that was once where she lived. There has been a couple that have been taking care of the house and didn't like the fact that she had returned. I loved how the characters were in this story. Look forwrd to the other books in this series. I really am interested to learn more about Kat and what her role is in this story. I do have to say I didn't like the Raymond character. It was like I had a bad feeling about him whne he came into the story. She really did a good job on this story. You can feel like you are there with them. Once you start you don't want to start. I recommend this story to anyone that likes short stories and love reading about witches.

I'm no good in reviews but I'll give it a try because I love Patti Roberts, I'm her number 1 fan in The Netherlands lol ...

(I can read every book in English, but writing in English is a disaster)

I loved book 1, it was so refreshing.
Only the waiting is so hard.

Book 2 is sooo good, I could see it all, the house, the cemetery all of it.
And OMG how I hated Raymond !!
I almost yelled at him ... (I did)

I loved Fern, and the way Alexandria goes back in time.

Kat was awesome how she dealed with Vera, I would loved to help her.

Patti, this was so good, can't wait for book 3.

Engaging!

Creative and picks up right where the first left off. This is well written and curious where it goes. 4 stars because it is so short it should not be sold separately! It doesn't stand alone in any way. No resolution but intrigue does continue. Highly recommend the author bundles at least books 1-3 together! The shortness of these books are more like chapters in others. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

Really

This book just stops at 70% with the rest of the book being descriptions of words....Also the book makes no sense How it jumps from one story to the next without finishing the story. It's a book full of cliff-hangers.

Why did the old woman try and kill the family?
What's up with the guy trying to take her picture?
Why this so called protective talisman not protecting her?
How is a seventeen year old going to rebuild a entire estate if all the money gone?
Who is Carmen to the old woman?

And all the cliff hangers that weren't answered from book one...

I was so happy that I had book two immediately after finishing the first episode. I was not ready to leave Ferntree Woods. Alexandria has come home to reclaim her heritage and Witchwood Estate. Having lost her parents at the tender age of 5 years, she grew up protected and was not taught about her special talents. Told through present moments and a series of flashbacks, we get to know some of the major players in this episodic series. So many secrets and secret associations to be revealed. Pay attention to even the smallest details because they each return to unravel the complete story.
You will appreciate this book more if you have read the previous book first, so grab it now!
If you can't, go ahead and jump in here. A great read for most age groups.
