Four months ago, Ashton Garrison moved to a small town where she knows no one. She is there for a reason that no one knows. She has made a few close friends and while she is there, she plans to live life to the fullest. She even has a ‘bucket list’ for that specific reason.
“It’s a study on living life to it’s fullest in a limited time frame.”

One of the things on her list is to have a one night stand. She finds the perfect guy in the local bar. No one has ever seen Nathan around. He is a ‘traveling journalist’. The first meeting between Ashton and Nathan- priceless.
“Are you going to put your trunk in my head?”

“Excuse me?”

“Wait. I mean are you going to put your trunk in me?”

“Is that what the kids are calling it now?”

Nathan is in town for a specific reason. He is looking for someone. That someone is Ashton. Nathan is a PI type, people pay him to locate someone and he finds them. Thats his job. He doesn’t know who is looking for her or why, he just knows he has a job to do. Once he finds his target, he is conflicted for the first time. There is something about Ashton he needs to get out of his system before he finishes the job. He can't turn her in just yet.

 photo cb0b9360-3d6b-420d-9b9f-0615b06e20fd_zps09c3cd16.jpg

Nathan decides to stick around for a while, which ruins Ashton’s plan. She can’t have a one night stand with someone she will see again. But she amends the list. An affair. No relationship, no love, no attachments. Easy enough for Nathan.
I held steadfast to my rule. No attachments. Take it or leave it.

He just has to promise one thing to Ashton-
“I promise I won’t fall in love with you.”

Ashton and Nathan’s relationship was something else. These two couldn’t catch a break. Nathan finds Ashton real, fun, and unlike any other woman he’s ever met. And Ashton is starting to feel for Nathan, even though she doesn’t want to. It seems like the universe is working against them for a while, between allergic reactions, weather etc. But when they finally ‘ride the bike’ its unlike any experience Ashton has ever had. Or Nathan.

“Just put it this way. It was toe-curling, mouth-dropping, body-quivering hot.”

After being together for only a week, they both are feeling things they’ve never felt. Crossing lines neither one wanted to cross.
In a week she had completely changed me.

Ashton was not the rich princess Nathan thought she was. She was strong, tough and lovable. She was also a funny one. Ashton and her best friend Tressa made me lol more than once!

And Nathan... If I had to choose one word to describe Nathan it would be SWOON. He had me from their first meeting. Any guy that calls a girl sweetheart, darling, and sweets just makes me melt. Toward the end, he showed his true heart. He was sweet, sexy, and completely devoted.

Tiffany King can not only write YA, she can write NA too! There were some steamy moments between these two! A sweet and beautiful read. The ending was great. I wish it were a little longer, more build up to the ending. I also wanted a little more of an epilogue Overall, I really enjoyed this one! If you are looking for a quick, sweet and sexy NA read pick this one up!

This was a sweet love story mixed with great chemistry and humor.

Ashton and Nathan have instant an attraction and Ashton means to take advantage of that by having a one-night stand with Nathan. A one-night-stand is an item she has marked on a "bucket-list," and Nathan is the perfect candidate to tick off that box. He's a stranger, few and far between in the small town she lives in, he's hot, sweet, and doesn't want a commitment any more than Ashton does. Unfortunately, things don't go according to plan, and what was supposed to be one night turns out to be an affair with funny mishaps along the way.

Unbeknownst to Ashton, meeting Nathan was not a chance encounter. Nathan was hired by someone to track Ashton down when she disappeared. He doesn't know why she disappeared but he decides to find out her secret before turning her in, and again, things don't go according to plan.

I have to say I was completely taken by surprise when I found out the reason Ashton ran. Bowled over. I usually like to have a warning when reading about this subject, because it's something that hits close to home. But I enjoyed the story in spite of expecting something completely different. It was very sweet, touching, and heartfelt. Did I mention hot? Yes, there was that too:

I settled my lips against hers for a moment, devouring the sigh of surprise that left her mouth. I pulled the lip that had been enticing me into my mouth and gave it a soft nip with my teeth. It tasted faintly like a combination of cherry lip gloss and minty mouthwash, but it was the heat that beckoned me. I could've made a feast of her lips and mouth. I wanted to explore every inch of them.

Ashton Garrison took off from home and her life of comfort to live in the small town of Woodfalls. She is working in the town store, making new friends, and enjoying the simple things. All the while, she’s marking items off her list – things she wants to do in her life. One of those things is to have a one-night stand, something hard to do in such a small town, that is until Nathan Lockton comes into the picture, giving her the perfect opportunity.

“Finding a perfect candidate for a one-night stand was slim to none in a town the size of Woodfalls. Strangers are far and few between. Couple that with the fact that he was drop-dead gorgeous and his sudden appearance was like a gift from god.”

Ashton is a really awesome girl; she is a bit of a dork, which made her all the more likable in my eyes. She doesn’t always say the exact right thing and her fumbling and sass was really endearing. This made for a funny first meeting with Nathan. Their interactions in the first scene are hilarious and it is probably one of the most random conversations ever. But I loved every word of it!

What seems like a chance meeting in Ashton’s eyes is really anything but. Nathan has been hired to locate her and give her location to his client (this is something you find out immediately since it’s in dual POV). Once Nathan meets her, she intrigues him. The two of them work out a casual “no attachments” type agreement and decide to have some fun.

“One thing was clear: Ashton was nothing like I expected. How was I going to get her out of my system when everything about her seemed to pull me in?”

“Sure, I liked him, but he was still just an item on my list. I had to stick to our deal, and as long as he could keep his work, we could have our fun and then go our separate ways.”

As the story progresses more details about both their pasts come to light and it makes you question by Ashton left her home in the first place. Nathan wants to find that out and who hired him? There is some mystery there, but I felt like I figured it out pretty early on.

There is potential for lots of feelings and I could see some people getting emotional while reading this story. I would have loved to have been a bit more invested in the characters, but unfortunately it never hit me. I noticed a few things that were really reminiscent of a certain Nicholas Sparks book I’ve read in the past, but it still was very much a different story. This was a cute book and I will definitely be reading more of Tiffany Kind in the future. I haven’t been disappointed so far! :)

This book was not what I expected...it was much better! This was my 1st book by Tiffany King and I enjoyed it very much!

Things I loved...
1. Dual POVs -Each chapter alternates between his (Nathan) and her (Ashton) POV
2. Tressa! Holy crap, she had me in tears from laughing at her wittiness and punch lines. She was a hoot and a half! I loved her :)
3. Ashton - she was such a lil spitfire- sarcastic, spunky, funny and a klutz! I felt her embarrassment as if it was my own during several scenes. I literally stopped reading to cover my face with my hand and say "she did not just say that!" LOL I loved her!
4. Nathan - Talk about perfection! He was so sweet and loving with Ashton. He treated her like a queen. Protected her, cared for her, stood by her and was everything a girl could want in a man! I absolutely adored him!
5. Lots of humor!!
6. Sweet epilogue

My only real complaint is that the book could have been longer with some more development and a longer ending or epilogue. Wasn't ready for it to end! Such a sweet story.

4.5 “Best Bike Ride Ever” Kisses

*Heads up – there will be babbling in this review…but in my defense, I can’t help it :-) *

Wow…I needed this book in my life. Badly. I abso-freakin-lutely loved every single part of this book. It made me laugh…a lot. It made me cry…a lot more than I want to admit. It squeezed my heart, it brought me joy, and I just want MORE! I don’t care if that makes me greedy, there is not one aspect of this book that didn’t satisfy me.

Ashton Garrison…she’s 22 and living her life with a new purpose. Four months ago she completely uprooted herself and changed everything…she’s got a plan, kind of, but the important thing is she is doing what she wants to do. She’s sassy, she’s spunky, she’s so freaking funny and I absolutely loved her to pieces. I don’t try and look for flaws in my heroine, but honestly I can’t really think of a flaw that she had. She wasn’t perfect…but her imperfections did not take away from her likeability and they were what formed her character.

“Somewhere over the last five years, I’d forgotten who I really was.”

Nathan Lockton…well, if you want to call him that…or you can call him:
- tall, dark, he-can-have-my-panties-any-day seximist
- tall-dark-panty-dropping-worthy hunk
- Tall, Dark and Dreamy
- Mr. Seximist
- Mr. Voice
- Bang-a-licious
- Prince Hotness
- Tall Drink of Handsomeness
- Mr. Sexy Voice
- Mr. Hot and Sexy
- Make-Me-Wet Stranger
- Mr. Handsome

Getting the picture here people??? *sigh* I swooooned over Nathan, big time. On top of everything else, he was mysterious. He has secrets too, but his secrets have to do with Ashton. He grew up being the ‘man of the house’…or more like ‘man of the trailer’…he didn’t have an easy childhood, but given the fact that he’s 29 and basically has his own ‘business’, he must have done something right. He doesn’t get attached, he doesn’t make exceptions, and he never breaks his rules. Until her…

‘‘Her voice washed over me like a seductive caress, laced with an equal share of innocence and wisdom that hinted at a hidden inner pain.’

She’s trying to pick him up in a bar…He’s already planned to pick her up in said bar…the conversation that occurs is one of the funniest I have ever read in a book. From this initial meeting, Ashton and Nathan spend the next week together…but it’s just for fun… ‘No attachments. Take it or leave it.’, right? Yup…thought so…

‘It was unfair that even in mortification his wink had the power to seduce me.’

They were so attached and so was I. I don’t care how many times I read about people falling for each other so quickly….and anyone who has never experienced it can doubt all you want - I have…and I married him, so Bring. It. On! I love it! Regardless of the time, the emotions were there, the connection was there, the passion was there – it was the best combination and I was salivating over it.

‘He cupped my face gently in his hands, holding it in place. My breath hitched in my lungs as he leaned in to drop a soft kiss on my lips. Where the other kisses we had shared ignited the lust we felt for each other, this kiss was something entirely different. The softness of his lips caressed mine as his tongue slowly slid into my mouth. He explored my mouth leisurely, never increasing the intensity. It was as if he was trying to memorize every detail and was meticulous with his mission. The tenderness of his mouth made my heart ache and I wished it would never end.’

I have to say this book has some of the best dialogue I have ever read…ever. It was fluid, it was natural, it was real. My eye never once tripped over one word they said…whether it was hilarious, hot or gut wrenching…every last syllable was perfection. But…something that was lacking for me, physical descriptions. I am all about the little details – the color of their eyes, the lines and angles in his face, the freckle on her nose…it helps me paint a mental picture of the characters. Aside from the fact that she was a ‘delicate brunette’ and he was ‘tall, dark and handsome’ (among other things) – those are the only details I have to go on. Granted…I was okay with it in this context because I was so wrapped up in what was going on, I could overlook it, but it did make me raise my eyebrow later.

‘One thing was clear: Ashton was nothing like I expected. How was I going to get her out of my system when everything about her seemed to pull me in?’

So…heads up in advance…chapter 19 = :’( That was just the beginning of the waterworks for me, I was teary eyed off and on from that point forward. Even though I figured it out by 40%, I still wasn’t sure how things were going to happen and fall into place…and she did keep that suspense and wonder going until over 70%. I love to be tortured, I don’t hide that fact, and I was…waiting for the shoe to drop, wondering when/how it was going to happen. Just one more reason I was tied up in knots.

‘"Sometimes life has a way of preventing you from doing the things you want to do the most,” I answered evasively.’

Now I don’t normally go into too much detail about supporting characters…but I have to say that I am in LOVE with Tressa…hard core. The girl is just flat out hilarious and within the first few pages she says “Chillax” - Really? Do you need any other reasons to love this girl? Nope…me either. Her liners are incredible and she’s exactly the kind of friend Ashton needs in her life right now. And speaking of that, I loved her friendship with Ashton, because even though they have only known each other 4 months, you would think they had been bff’s forever.

‘There’s a time in everyone’s life when I’m sure they wonder if fate is actually some dude watching from beyond, just waiting for the right moment to fuck with us.’

I absolutely cannot get enough of books that after you’re finished reading, when you go back and re-read a line or a quote later, it takes on a whole new perspective. It’s like your eyes have been opened and you’re reading it for the first time again…there are just no words to describe it. It warms my heart. No Attachments has that…big time. When I was going back over my quotes, it would make me tear up…again! Ugh! Love that…

I am faced once again with the fact that I don’t want Ashton and Nathan to be over. They got their HEA…but I want more. I feel that there is more. And until I am forced to believe it, I will sit in denial land and hope there is continuation of their story. There is definitely more for Tressa…there is a juicy tale just waiting to be told out of that girls mouth and I promise you every bit of it will be hilarious and awesome. I will leave you with two of the things that made me smile the most in this book…and I will leave them without explanation…so that way you are forced to read the book to understand :-)

“…add my boobies to your trunk.”

‘Who knew a man who loved cats would come across so hot?’

Ashton Garrison ran away from her life to avoid an unknown future and to avoid putting someone she loves greatly through a lot of unwanted heartache. Ashton has created a list of things she’s always wanted to do in her life. One of them includes moving to a small town where everyone knows everything about everyone. Another thing on her list is to have a sexy one night stand with a stranger. That’s how she meets Nathan one night in a bar with her two friends, who talk her into walking up to Mr. Hot and Sexy and Totally Screwable.

Enter Nathan Lockton – sexy, charming, and jaded by a woman from his past. Nathan is a private investigator, hired to find Ashton, and when he does, he is to let his client know her whereabouts. When Ashton approaches Nathan in the bar, he pretends to be a freelance journalist passing through town on his way to his next assignment. As the shots keep coming, these two flirtatiously banter back and forth - which leads to a very funny scene where a very drunk Ashton gets her tongue tied.

" Are you going to put your trunk in my head?" I asked, finally able to make my tongue work.

“Excuse me,” he asked amused.

“Wait. I mean, are you going to put your trunk in me?” I asked, though the question still seemed slightly off.

(LOL)

So, as the sexual tension rises and Ashton becomes more and more intoxicated, there is no doubt in her mind… She is going home with Nathan. Knowing he needs to keep his part in this charade as impersonal as possible, Nathan plays along with Ashton’s proposal to go home with her. But Nathan, the gentleman he is, leaves a passed out Ashton at home in her bed. He wishes the circumstances were different between them as he immediately became infatuated with Ashton that night. The next morning, Ashton wakes up alone in her cabin, suddenly realizing she didn’t have a one night stand with Mr. Tall Drink of Handsomeness. Embarrassed by her behavior, she’s relieved that she doesn’t have to see him again. So she thinks.

When Ashton decided it’s time to mark another adventure off her list by jumping off a bridge into a river, Mr. Hot and Sexy heroically saves Ashton, even though she didn’t really need saving. This funny and very wet encounter leads them to having a no strings attached affair, since neither one of them are interested in having serious relationship. This affair turns out to be more than both of them had bargained for. It gets a little harder to maintain a no strings attached relationship when lines become blurred and both Nathan and Ashton are unsure how to deal with their feelings towards one another. Which leads Nathan to decide he wants to forget about his rules and really get to know more about Ashton. Why is she running from her past? But when a chain of events threaten to reveal Ashton’s secret, what happens when Nathan finds out the truth? And what happens when Ashton figures out Nathan’s true reason for being in town?

I loved Ashton and Nathan together. They’re fun and quirky and exactly what each other needed when they were both alone and dealing with their issues. Ashton had a hard keeping her emotions in check when she was around Nathan. She also lost all sense of coolness around him. Something about Nathan caused her to be clumsy and tongue tied. I loved the hilarious moments where things just don’t always go as planned between them. Not to mention Nathan has a charming personality that was hard to for Ashton to resist. He charmed her panties right off of her.

Nathan has never felt this way about any woman. He loves Ashton’s sass and the way she makes him laugh and smile. He was missing these things in his lonely life. So, as their feelings begin to bloom, the no strings attached rule begins to diminish all together. Nathan’s presence in Ashton’s life helps her find the strength she needs for when she is finally ready to face reality. And being with Ashton helps Nathan overcome his past hurts and ready to move on with a woman who makes him happy. So, before they knew it what was happening, they had given away their heart to one another.

Ashton and Nathan are very passionate and sexy together. Even though they had only known each other for a week, there is still a slow, sexy burn between them. And the kisses were definitely toe curling. These two definitely earned their first sexy time together, after several funny incidents kept making things impossible for them. But when they finally do the deed, it was well worth the wait.

No Attachments is a heart-breaking but funny and sweet story about betrayal, lies, loss, love, finding strength and happiness in those you love. The ending of this story was heart-wrenching. During this part of the book, I cried a thousand tears of sadness and then a thousand more happy tears. This is my first book by Tiffany King and won’t be my last. I really enjoyed her writing style and quirky sense of humor that lightened up a story that has a very serious theme. My hope is that Miz King plans to write more with the secondary characters she introduced in this story. (hint, hint Miz King – wink!)

Ashton was running away because she was afraid of facing her demons. Nathan was the man hired to find her.
The rules of the job were very simple:
- Find the target.
- Deliver the target to the client.
- Don’t ever get attached.

Unfortunately, when he met Ashton he kind of forgot the last rule. And suddenly not only he didn't wanted to hand her over to his client but he also wanted to find out why she had to run away in first place and save her from what she is trying to escape.

description

And when they became so attracted to each other that they decide to have a casual-no-strings-attached relationship (Yes, we all know how good they always work!), both fooling each other, they soon discover that keeping things casual and not creating attachments is more difficult that what they first thought.

description

I liked this book. The story was good, the characters were likeable and one thing that I really liked was that I created dozens of scenarios why she was running away and when I finally found out, it was nothing even close of what I was expecting. That was a really good thing because we're not easily surprised in this type of books.

But although the plot and the characters were good, it lacked some things. The story should had been more developed, the people in the book should had been more deepened and if the book was part of a series the ending would had been good, but as it is a stand-alone the end felt very poor and very incomplete. It was not satisfying enough and I couldn't fully connect with the story.

But is a sweet book with dual POV, which is always good, with a sweet story and very fast to read so it worth the reading! :)

It was been some time since I have read one of King’s books. And back then it was just a cute YA series that stole my heart. Now King has started her writing adventure in NA and again…my heart has been stolen. I am in absolute ruins from this book. And all of this is a good thing…a very good thing. I love for books to affect me this way: tearing me up, making me one hot emotional mess, and somehow repairing me back whole again.

I had an inkling what the big reveal would be, but I enjoyed the ride the story took me on. I was so caught up in the story, that when the reveal finally happened, I was still shocked. How can this be? I knew it was coming…I had planned for it all along. But in the end, I was still heartbroken. I was still completely and hopelessly lost to it all. I knew my heart couldn’t take much more. The tears were flowing for me and I chastised myself for being this way. Knowing good and well I was expecting it and yet still able to fall prey to its ability to bring me to my knees. You know it is a fabulous read if a book can do that to you.

Nathan Lockton. Oh you sneaky little devil you. I enjoyed your character so very much. Even though you were hurt in the past and only there for a job…you weren’t some ass. You were romantic, and sweet, and so very much a swoontastic guy. You stood up for Ashton when needed. You took her on romantic, even though slightly chaotic, dates. One date especially that will have women everywhere looking at their spouse, boyfriend, significant other and asking “WTH? Why can’t you be like Nathan? Where is my picnic under the stars?” Yep, woman will love you and men will loathe you.

Ashton Garrison. I won’t go much into her character because if I do I will end up spoiling the story for you guys. But I loved her and know that you will too.

I will say that I had an instant connection with these two. How could you not? From the very start even they knew that there was something between them. Both played it off to lust. But us readers are privy to that kind of stuff and knew it was much more than what they were brushing it off to be. There is only so long you can resist feelings that strong and intense.

This book is a must read that I couldn’t get enough of. I loved it and actually could see myself reading it again…soon. So if you are a fan of all the NA reads that are exploding all over the reading world…NO ATTACHMENTS is just the book for you.

One of the best NA books I've read - absolutely loved this one. First of all I have to thank the author and Inkslinger for the opportunity to read an ARC of this book. I am forever grateful because this book is now a favorite of mine!

Ashton is on the run from her past, having moved to a small town with a bucket list of things she wants to do in her lifetime. Not once did I ever figure out what exactly it was that she was running from and the suspense kept me dying to read more and figure her out. In the few months she’s been in town, she has made a few friends who are wonderful to her, including the owner of the general store where she works.

A night out with her two friends presents an opportunity to cross off one of the items on her list – to have a one-night-stand. And the lucky guy she targets is Nathan. A guy who claims he’s a journalist just passing through town on his hunt for a story, when in reality he’s been hired by a man to find Ashton and disclose her whereabouts . Their first night ‘together’ proves to be a flop – but there’s something about Ashton that keeps Nathan from turning her in and leaving town. Even though he’s sworn off women and relationships – there’s something different about her that calls to him and makes him want to know her better and find out the real reason behind her running away.

Neither one of them are interested in a relationship – both having past issues that prevent them from ever wanting to fall in love. So they agree on a ‘no attachments’ affair – that will quickly turn out to be more than they bargained for. When they start to realize their feelings are stronger than planned, a chain of events occur that challenge their love and relationship – stemming from what Nathan is really doing in town and what Ashton has been hiding from him.

I will say that although it sounds like serious angst – it’s written in a way that doesn’t drag it out and made it bearable for me. Also – what some would consider an ‘insta-love’ really didn’t feel like that to me. They date each other and their times together seemed so real to me that I never felt it was a rushed relationship. I am a big believer in finding love quickly, whether you want to admit that’s what it is, and once you have that – you don’t want to spend another minute without it or that person. Nathan and Ashton made me believe in their love and their relationship. It was beautiful, romantic, often comical and so amazing that I had a smile on my face the entire time I read this book.

Not to mention Nathan is SWOON-WORTHY. He was an incredible character written to perfection. The way he tried so hard to win Ashton over, often failing miserably with their disastrous and hilarious few dates. But he never gave up and when things got difficult, he showed his true feelings and commitment and completely melted and won my heart several times over. And I can’t forget the total chemistry these two had together – it was very hot and steamy! When they finally have their moment, it did not disappoint.
And Ashton is a kick-ass heroine who doesn’t whine or get annoying ONE TIME! I loved her! She’s hilarious, and despite having gone through some serious heartache in her life – she is fun and upbeat and just made me smile.

I can’t begin to say how much I loved every single minute of this book. The story unfolded so beautifully and sucked me in immediately that I didn’t want to put it down. I felt so many different emotions while reading it – especially at the point in the book where it threw me for a loop. Not only was it a wonderful romance with enough steam thrown in – there were some serious laugh-out-loud moments. The banter between Ashton and Nathan was perfect and so realistic. And the tender and serious moments were a total surprise that I was not expecting going into reading this book – but made it all the more wonderful! I wanted to weep at times because these two were so PERFECT together and I was cheering them on to get their HEA.

A MUST READ - make sure to get your copy as soon as it comes out!

I received and ARC of this book from Tiffany King. I will write a full review once the book has been released.....but I will say this...

It was AMAZING!!!!! I know I say that a lot when it comes to Tiffany King's book, but it is totally true. Tiffany has never disappointed me and this book was no different. I absolutely loved the storyline and the characters. And even though Tiffany is known for writing YA, she definitely knows how to write a steamy scene. Well done Ms. King you should be so proud of yourself for writing a FABULOUS NA book.

Ashton is running away from her life and not dealing with something that's pretty serious to her health. Her father has hired Nathan to find her however, when he does find her, Nathan isn't prepared for what his heart will find.

Now both, Ashton and Nathan, have a major secret they are keeping from each other as well as hiding their true feelings. Will his secret push her away? Will her secret scare him and push him away? Or will their love for each other conquer all their secrets once they are revealed?

What I liked about this book:
1. Ashton's dad
2. Nathan fulfilling parts of Ashton's "List"
3. Nathan's sacrifice for Ashton
4. Some of the flirtations & sarcasms
5. Nathan's gift to Ashton
6. The sweetness of how Nathan treats Ashton
7. Nathan & the Dad's relationship

What I didn't like:
1. I felt at times Ashton and her friends were too immature for 22-year-olds
2. How Ashton handles a certain situation towards the ending chapters
3. The on going "boobies" joke between Ashton and Nathan

Content: Language, drinking, sexual situations

Well, it is easy for me to gush over Tiffany King because I love her so much. There is no one like her and this books just proves it.

Best part of the book: The whole book was amazing. Ashton is living in this same town because she is running away from something. Throughout my heart went out to Ashton because there was something about her that made me want to protect. Well, thank goodness that Nathan was there. He came into town just for a short while. He met Ashton and they hit it off. Well, after a very interesting conversation they ended up coming up with a "no attachment" agreement.

I bet you can see where this is going........WRONG! Just when I thought it was going to be a book free of tears, Tiffany King swoops in and pulls the rug out. Thank Tiffany!

Not so great about the book: This book is another Tiffany King masterpiece! Grab it NOW!

I wish I could have given it more, I really do!
The thing is... I have nothing against cuss words as long as they are used with a purpose: when the said words must be there to express feelings, or the gravity of some situations.
But I couldn't find any purpose for more than half of these words in this book. I don't want to sound prude, because really, I'm not. But this fact was kind of a buzz killer for me.

Meet Nathan

And Ashton

Both have secrets, so they decide to

No Attachments was amazing! It was the total package as far as books are concerned! I laughed, swooned, and was overall awed at this book. The flow was great, the smexy scenes were hot! I loved Nathan! The overall plot of the book was simple, but it was impeccably delivered. Overall, a fantastic New Adult book!!

3.5 No Attachment Stars

Ashton has a bucket list and on her bucket list is to stay in a small town, kind of like Gilmore Girls. She works at a local store and just wants to live her life free.

Nathan is a private investigator and his assignment is to find Ashton. When he does, he realizes, he wants more time with her and instead of telling his client Ashton is found, Nathan decides to start a no attachment relationship with Ashton.

Ashton agrees to this no attachment relationship.

I liked the plot of No Attachments. I usually don’t like a plot around a “secret” that is, Nathan is a PI, hired to find Ashton, but I felt like that added a little something to the story. I thought the chemistry between Nathan and Ashton was pretty good and the insta-lust is pretty fast and quick.

Ashton is a carefree kind of Heroine and she makes it very apparent that Nathan can’t fall in love with her since she plans to move away in a few months. Nathan wants to get Ashton out of his system and then he can tell his client and move away.

I liked how there’s plenty of dialogue between Ashton and Nathan and the side characters, Ashton’s friends were pretty cute. The atmosphere of a small town is very adorable and it makes me want to live there. It’s a quick and fast pace read, so watch out because anything can happen.

Towards the second half of the book, the story shifts to something cute and light to a little more dramatic and it adds more spice to the story. I wished this part could have been played up a bit more and I got a little more meat. I felt like it was a bit rushed and it was hard to imagine the time frame, but I did like how the direction went.

Overall, No Attachments is a cute story about living life to the fullest and opening your heart to something more.

“There’s a time in everyone’s life when I’m sure they wonder if fate is actually some dude watching from beyond, just waiting for the right moment to fuck with us.”

Ashton has a list and one of her tasks is to have a one-night stand with a stranger. In the podunk town of Woodfalls, everyone knows everyone. So when Ashton sets her sights on Mr. Tall, Dark and Handsome aka Nathan Lockton, all she expects (and hopes for) is a night of passion and no-attachments. But Nathan is not a stranger. In fact, he is sent on a job to discover Ashton and turn her over to his boss. What starts out as a task for both of them to complete, ends up becoming so much more than either of them bargained for.

There are many things I liked about No Attachments.

Ashton is far from seductive and graceful. She is sweet, endearing, and you can’t help but want the best for her. Throughout the novel she is constantly getting into situations due to her two left feet. I found myself laughing and feeling so embarrassed for her.

Nathan, well he is certainly a charmer. He is flirtatious but also really sweet, despite the circumstances. I just have a few problems with him.

First, his age. Nathan is 29, but I kept feeling like he was the same age as Ashton. I’m not sure if it was his pet names for her, or his dialogue in general, but I kept forgetting that he was supposed to be older. I would have liked for his character to have been a little more mature.

I also thought the plot twist in No Attachments was pretty interesting as well. What I expected after reading the synopsis, and what I got, were two different things. I had figured out what the “secret” was early on, but it didn’t take away my enjoyment for how it turned out.The characters were cute and the storyline dealt with a sensitive subject without the intensity that usually leaves me feeling bummed out.

I liked No Attachments. Some parts were a little predictable, and the dialogue was a little cheesy at times but it didn’t ruin my overall experience. I just wished it would have been a little more developed in terms or story and characters.

I just love it when books go way beyond my expectations. This book pretty much started out like just another new adult novel and somehow somewhere along the middle, it managed to blow me away with its riveting and heart-wrenching twist and story development.

The plot's pretty simple, kind of reminiscent of even. But even with its simplicity, it did have so much heart that even the simplest of moments made me tear up so easily. So the story started out with this instant attraction (attraction, not love) between Ashton and Nathan. Aside from the oozing chemistry between them, I also loved how there were quite a lot of funny moments as well. Even though they both didn't want a serious relationship at first, their easy banter and intense magnetism was so palpable that you just know they're headed for it anyway.

Just like how the entire little town of Woodsfell fell for Ashton Garrison, I also liked her character right off the bat. She's a simple girl who's trying to make the best out of the cards she'd been deal with. And even with her "predicament", she's not even angsty and full of hatred with how her life turned out. And then she meets Nathan... and fireworks explode.

Ahh Nathan Lockton. I don't even know how to begin describing his perfection. It's like he was the missing piece in Ashton's life that she never thought she needed and wanted. Yes, he didn't want anything more than a short-lived affair with Ashton but his actions spoke volumes of how he really felt about her. The amount of effort he put in giving Ashton what she deserved just melted my heart instantly. And when he finally knew about Ashton's truth, I just felt so bad for him that I cried a good few minutes because of the intense pain and hurt he was feeling.

Nathan and Ashton were just so perfect for each other that I was seriously on the edge of my seat rooting for them all the way. More than anything, I think this story was about the strength of true love and what it can overcome. Thank heavens for that sweet epilogue. Definitely a must-read for those who want a simple yet very heartwarming love story :)

No Attachments is Tiffany's first New Adult book and being a HUGE fan of all of her YA books I was a jumbled mix of curious and excited to see how her move into a different genre went...and I only have this to say about her genre jump...take note folks the NA genre has a new author in town and she's taking names and kickin ass!

I really liked Ashton; she was a bit of a klutz and somehow seemed to do and say the most awkward things in front of Nathan but that's why I liked her. She was normal because lets face it, how many of us have embarrassed ourselves in front of the guy we liked. Tiffany did a great job with Ash's two best friends Tressa & Brittni, they were absolutely hysterical!!
After meeting and a "bumping" into each other Nathan & Ashton hit it off but since neither one "does" relationships they mutually decide to get together for No Attachment sex...BUT what they don't know is the giant secrets the other is hiding. Let me tell you Nathan's is a biggie!
Tiffany kept me entertained thru the whole story wondering what Ashton's secret was/is and why she left her life of privilege for living in the sticks. (We do get the answers to that as well as finding out who Nathan really is)
Oh another character I adored was Ashton's boss Fran; she owned the grocery store Ash worked at. Fran is a P-I-S-S-E-R and when I think of her Betty White comes to mind lol.
No Attachments had me hooked from page one; I read it in a sitting because heaven forbid I should put my Kindle down and pace myself to find out the ending...please, that would be absurd; I have no self control when it comes to good books!
NA has everything I look for in a good book; it made me laugh a lot, it made tear up, it made me root for the characters to get their HEA. It has fantastic characters, a story that at times I found myself saying "Noooooo, Tiffany please don't do this to me." No Attachments proves once again that for me, when I pick up a Tiffany King book to read I'm going to enjoy it from start to finish.

I loved this one! This one was a little different from other New Adult books out there so that was nice.

First we have Ashton who is in her way of crossing of things of her list. One of the things: have a one night stand. Who does she decide to have one with? With a incredibly hot and beautiful man named Nathan. Ashton was great. She was totally likeable and in her first meeting with Nathan she was hilarious!

When I found out why Nathan was in town I was like: Ohhh this is gonna be good! For a moment there I actually thought he was a creeper. I totally hot and sexy creeper of course! But that wasn't the case.

Ashton and Nathan jump into a "no attachments" relationship. Of course those type of relationship always end up having more drama than normal ones. I so was not expecting was Ashton was hiding. I guess I could have found out sooner but I was completely oblivious to the whole thing up until it was revealed.

This book ignited a lot of feelings in me and I literally didn't put it down until I was finished. The plot, the romance, Ashton and Nathan were all great! I highly recommend this one!

Rating: 4 stars out of 5!

Favorite Quotes:

“I promise I won't fall in love with you," I said solemnly since she seemed so serious.”

“A lot of cold showers, that's what's gotten me through it," Nathan suggested.”

“You don't exercise?" he asked, looking at me like I was nuts.
"God no. Life is too short for something so disagreeable.”

“Darling, I'm not going to lie. I'm going to enjoy riding that bike probably more than any other bike I've ever ridden, but I won't fall in love with it," he reassured me”

I may have broken up my BFF friendship with Tiffany King during part of the book when she pissed me off, but thankfully, she got back into my good graces. Mysteriously living her life in the middle of Nowheresville, USA, Ashton stumbles on the hot and bothered Nathan and decides to bed him. Because...of course she would. Only after deciding to make a one-night stand into a longer sexed-up agreement do secrets about why either one of them are currently living where they are. It's discovering those secrets and the feistiness of Ashton that I loved most about No Attachments.

I've had No Attachments for a while now and for some reason decided today was the day to pick it up. And what a lovely surprise it turned out to be. A bit heartbreaking, a bit fun, some steamy happening and a romance that snuck up on two people and gave them something to hold on to when life got hard. How could that not be a simply amazing journey?

The quick of it is that Ashton has run from her life. Dropped all ties and ran until she found a small town she hoped to have an adventure in and where she could knock some items off of her bucket list. Including having a one night stand with a stranger. Just so happens that stranger had been hired to find her by someone in her previous life. Ooos messy!

Ashton and Nathan were quite the pair. They just seemed to feed off of each other--in a good way. Could be a little silly now and again, sparked a romantic flair in one another and totally flustered each other in such a funny way. The two set out to have one night together and the nookie Fates totally screwed with them. I mean if a date/night could go wrong...it did. A little too much to drink, maybe an allergy rearing it's breath stealing head, freak rain showers. I mean. Blue balls were happening pretty much every time poor Nathan turned the corner and tried to spend a little sheet time with Ashton.
"It's snowing," she crowed, clapping her hands with glee.

"I'm taking it you feel better?" I asked, chuckling at her enthusiasm.

"Much. We have to go out and play in the snow," she said, frantically pulling warm clothes out of her wardrobe.

"I don't think it's going anywhere, sweets," I said, placing my hands on her to still her frantic movements.

"Oh, you're naked," she said, stating the obvious as her eyes darted down to my morning companion.

"Yeah, we sort of went to bed that way," I teased, watching as a delicate shade of pink crept up her neck, staining her cheeks. "Does it make you uncomfortable?" I asked.

"What? No, it's just like, you know, 'Ta-da. Here I am.' It threw me off," she stumbled out.

"Well, for your information, this is pretty common for most guys in the morning."

"Really? How unfortunate," she said.

"Get dressed," I laughed. "The snow is calling your name."

"Snow?" she said, looking momentarily confused. "Right, snow," she said finally, making me laugh again as she hurried off to the bathroom with an armload of clothes.

There was a lot of humor mixed into their relationship even though there were also some pretty serious things happening in the background. Things focused pretty much on the two getting to know each other while "not getting attached" ::snort:: and Ashton experiencing live and adventures as she worked her way through her bucket list until time ran out and her past came into play. The second half of the book--as they dealt with what has sent her running--was hard to read. I mean it had my throat tight and my guts churning and worried as all hell things might not turn out okay. I was really amazed how much King had me invested in these two.

All in all, No Attachments was a fast read that touched my heart. I would have liked just a wee bit more there at the end I think--things wrapped up a bit too quickly for me--but even so I enjoyed Ashton and Nathan's journey and seeing how things played out for them.

I've been hearing so many great things about this book that I knew I had to get my hands on a copy. I was super excited when KP over at InkSlinger offered me the chance to review the book and do a guest post with Tiffany!

We first meet Ashton, who is out with her friends at a bar, hoping to cross off the one-night stand item off her bucket list, which she lies and says is for a study she's doing. I had only read a little bit about Ashton before I knew she had secrets that would play a big role in this book. With a bit of liquid courage, Ashton approaches a tall, dark, stranger at the bar (who is hotness personified) and attempts to strike a conversation and flirt with him. Ashton, while having a fun personality, is nervous and therefore you can't help but laugh at the awkwardness between her and this stranger (Nathan). Needless to say, after quite a few shots, Ashton is not really at her A-game and watching the two interact is priceless.

When we read Nathan's first POV chapter, he immediately lets us know how attracted to her he is. However, he has been burned by love in the past and refuses to let himself get hurt again. He is interested in Ashton purely for sexual reasons. The stakes get even higher when we find out that he is working for someone who has requested he find Ashton and inform them of her whereabouts. We now have a clearer picture that Ashton is hiding out in this small town which begs the question, 'What is she hiding? Who is she hiding from?'

Watching the two interact together was a lot of fun. Their relationship has a fun awkwardness to it- something always seems to go wrong when they see each other. Whether it be face planting in front of the other, allergic reactions, or getting stuck in a frigid downpour, these two are so fun to read about. Both establish early on that they are attracted to each other, but make it very clear they are looking for no strings. She makes him promise he won't fall in love with her, to which he assures her that won't be the case.

Once the two start to get to know each other, shying away from the family and personal issues, they realize they like spending time together and what was supposed to be casual is turning into anything but. Nathan tries to convince himself that once he gets her out of his system he will move on and go back to his life. Ashton knows she is not planning to stick around forever and tries to convince herself that what they have is just a fun thing. All of us readers know better.

I should have seen the plot twist coming, but I definitely didn't. When Ashton's secrets are revealed, I honestly didn't see King going that route. (Though in hindsight, it makes perfect sense) Ashton and Nathan both need to make a decision: Is this relationship really a no attachments one or do they both crave something more with each other? Watching them realize their feelings run so much deeper than mere casual ones, and watching Ashton finally confront her secrets and decide how she's going to continue living her life definitely makes this a must-read book.

Embarrassingly enough, No Attachments was the first New Adult novel that I read. From the summary, though, I was already intrigued, seeing as I was hoping that this book would be a higher level of YA contemporary–with older, wiser characters that have a certain depth to them that the teens in YA novels don’t have yet. Despite this, I was also expecting certain flaws and imperfections to follow the characters in the book as well, so that they would stay real people in a real world.

No Attachments opens up in a pub, with Ashton trying to mark off an item on her bucket list: Have a no-strings-attached, one-night stand. Her target is Nathan, an incredibly handsome man, who actually happens to have a hidden agenda, and knows exactly who Ashton is. When she introduces herself, I get a peek at her character, a bubbly, clumsy, and enthusiastic girl, with a deep past and history that she ran away from. Their interactions were adorable and cute, especially when they involved alcohol, (lol) and I felt myself beginning to warm up to Ashton, who wanted nothing but to live her life to the fullest.

However, as the story progresses, I found myself increasingly uncomfortable with Ashton and Nathan’s relationship. Maybe my inexperience in NA plays a part in this, but I also felt like both of them were rushing into things much too quickly after the initial meet-up. Hormones, I understand. But deep emotion after something so casual irked me. Granted, I liked how the author was able to delay the supposed ‘one-night stand’ and make it into something with a little more emotion, but I couldn’t understand why Nathan felt so strongly about Ashton when she was supposed to be ‘just an assignment,’ and why Ashton felt so strongly about Nathan when he was supposed to be ‘just some hot guy.’

Near the end, the plot opens up to reveal a secret, which I actually had a hunch about, that develops the story a little bit more so that the plot isn’t just about sex. This is when Ashton and Nathan become better characters in my eyes, people who are serious and committed about relationships instead of impulsive adults with a whole lot of hormones. I felt like this twist should have opened up quicker, though, since I was already quite annoyed with both of the characters before the revelation. This is quite dangerous as well, since when the climax happens too late, there’s a risk of the book being labeled as a ‘no-plot’ or ‘petty.’ I liked King’s effort to flesh out the nuances in the scenes though, and I appreciated the little things she did to evolve the plot and characters.

Overall, I would probably recommend No Attachments to frequent NA readers who love playful bantering between characters and a lot of sexual tension. For veteran YA readers who have never touched a NA in their life, though, I would recommend starting small first and reading this when you get used to the whole different world New Adult novels present.

5 stars - Loved this one so much!

I'm a huge Tiffany King fan. I always love her books but some are better than others. This one has taken it's rightful place as my very favorite of all her books.

I started this on Mother's Day and only the need to spend time with my family forced me to put it down. I had read 25% without even noticing. The rest was quickly devoured the next day. I think I would have read straight through if it hadn't been for the holiday.

Ashton is hiding. Leaving her life behind, she's working on her bucket list. Checking off items quickly as she's not sure how long she has to get through it. Having a one night stand is about to be fulfilled my the gorgeous Nathan but fate isn't having it.

I loved Ashton. She makes a questionable choice in hiding but I love her strength. She wants to live life her way and I get that. Everyone faces that moment or moments when you wonder why you do what you do. And question how long you can put off the dreams you have for yourself. Ashton wants certain experiences and she's working towards making it happen.

Her reactions around Nathan are so funny. She becomes a klutz and embarrasses herself so many times. But while there may be a blush, she doesn't take anyone's grief. She's real. Love that about her. Nathan loves her blushes and how she doesn't act all proper. He's taken by that part of her and can also tell she has secrets. Wanting to find out those secrets while watching her blush under his skilled comments keeps him hanging around longer than is wise. His heart is bound to get in trouble.

Love Nathan. His heart has been broken and he's not making that mistake again. He has a job to do and that's it. He's a good guy that keeps his heart carefully under control but when he can't fight the attraction and he lets loose a little then he can't help himself. His idea of an appetizer had me wishing there was still snow outside so I could cool off. His efforts at dating was both romantic and funny. He had me laughing and crying. He's a keeper for book boyfriends. Claiming him for sure!

The story itself is heartwarming, which really is a characteristic of a Tiffany King book. Her stories always turn struggles into strength and her characters always find the good. That's one of the reasons I love to read her books. They're real. They're emotional. They're heartwarming.

If you love the books that suck you in and keep you there till you're done then this one is for you. If you like the new adult genre, then this one is for you. If you like real life issues with an emphasis on the positive, then this one is for you. If you love Tiffany King books, then this one is for you.

Love it. Recommend it. - See more at: http://www.stuckinbooks.com/2013/05/n...

I always have this thinking that when someone from a story that I’ve been reading is a runaway, it’s always because he/she is hiding from something or someone so dreadful and scary and unbearable. No Attachments also brought me to this line of thinking but what surprised me is that for once I was proven that this kind of little theory that I have is wrong because reading this story opens up to a new line of thinking that sometimes people runaway to avoid hurting the people that means a lot to them; the choose the way of leaving rather than staying to keep the hurt away from those people.

Just when I thought it’s another romantic love with the happy ever after I was mistaken. I did get the romance and the love story and the happy ever after but the heartache and surprise and angst between the pages added a great depth to the story.

Ashton is a very strong heroine yet very much vulnerable. She keeps a lot of things to herself and even we readers wouldn’t get to know what’s really inside her pretty little mind until the last few chapters. I do adore her and her strive to fight for what she really want.

From the get go, we know that Nathan is looking for Ashton but who is looking for her or for what apparent reason - we all don't know. (well unless you get to the end of it.) He just might be there for the job but that job also opens up to him a great deal about conquering his own past and finding out that the rules he set up is not always applicable. He’s a good complimentary character for Ashton - he has this power to open her up and make her little dreams and hopes come true without her saying to him. He's definitely what Ashton needs.

Simply put - I love Ashton. I love Nash. I love them together.

Riding a Bike
I honestly don’t know the whole literal bike experience since I don't get to know how to ride one (I know, such an unfortunate event for me), but one thing for sure is that I love how this phrase was given a whole lot of meaning on this story.

As for the twist - that's the great deal breaker for me because I totally like it! I didn’t see that one coming until the last chapters. As usual, I tried guessing what could really lie beneath this story but came up empty handed of ideas. The twist is how twists really should be like. No Attachments’ story unfolded in such a way that leaves us all readers in a constant state of suspense or surprise but all of it is so so good.

Tiffany King did surprise me with this beautifully written, poignant and emotional story. This is the second book from the author that I've read next from(Unlikely Allies)and this would definitely be not my last from her. :)
