A Bad Boy is Good to Find begins the way most romances end, with kisses, caresses and professions of love. But when New York heiress Lizzie Hathaway finds out the man of her dreams is only after her money—which her father just lost in a publicized scandal—she knocks him unconscious with a champagne bottle, and runs off.
Conroy Beale may be a little wayward, but he’s not heartless. When his quiet, studious Lizzie goes on a dangerous partying binge, he tracks her down, kidnaps her, and forces her to dry out. Lizzie wants revenge on everyone, including Con, and he reluctantly agrees to go along with her scheme to exploit her unwelcome notoriety for money.
Her plan explodes in her face when she drags Con and a camera crew back to the Louisiana swamp he’s been running from all his life. Now Con must confront the pain he tried to escape, Lizzie fights feelings that don’t follow any script, and there’s that troublesome attraction that threatens to boil the bayou…
Jennifer Lewis is the USA Today bestselling author of more than thirty books, which have been translated into more than twenty languages.
"I’ve been making up stories since the day I was born. I always loved to draw as well as write and as a child I drew graphic novellas featuring penniless but plucky Cinderella heroines. My love of daydreaming earned me the nickname “Dozy Duck” in Kindergarten, and I still consider staring into space to be a constructive activity.
I was born in Manhattan but my family moved to London when I was six months old, toting me along in a cat basket. I grew up as a Brit and traveled extensively in Europe during my only-slightly-misspent formative years.
I came back to the States to earn a bachelor’s degree in Semiotics from Brown University and begin a journey into the world of trans-Atlantic accents that I have still not fully emerged from. On graduation I returned to New York, where I learned to explain Semiotics on job interviews (“It’s the study of signs and systems of meaning!”) and to apply my knowledge in a very enjoyable career at a television museum.
While organizing exhibits on subjects ranging from Elvis Presley to Monty Python, I began to experiment with writing my own stories. It was quite a revelation to discover that the tales I’d been dreaming up forever could actually be turned into books. After a couple of detours--my son and my daughter--I focused all my creative energy on writing and my first book came out from Silhouette Desire in 2007.
I live in South Florida with my family, which includes an adorable greyhound and four horses.
A BAD BOY IS GOOD TO FIND may not be the best title for this novel, because the “bad boy” in question, Conroy Bale, is more like an angel all wrapped up in a hot and sexy package. He’s more like a reformed bad boy.
New York socialite, Lizzie Hathaway has never wanted for anything. Her family is loaded to the gills and Lizzie has no worries because her financial future has been secured by her deceased grandmother in the form of a very healthy inheritance. When her family fortune is suddenly gone and she doesn’t have a post to pee in, she soon discovers that her father is a sham, her fiancé is a gold digger and the solution to all her problems is most definitely at the bottom of a champagne bottle – NOT! When it appears that her life is scarcely worth living, the most unlikely hero rides in to save the day and it turns out her needs a little saving too.
A BAD BOY IS GOOD TO FIND had a bit of a PRETTY WOMAN (the movie) type vibe to it and was an enjoyable read. If you are looking for a “real bad boy” book, this might NOT be what you are looking for, but if you are in the mood for a sweet and sexy romance with a happily-ever-after-ending, then you are bound to enjoy this gem of a book.

This story had its really, really high points for me--and it had it's really really low points.
To start with, the characters were more bipolar than they were just irritating. It was hard for me to totally relate to Lizzie as a female character. At first was so excited that she was a full figured character, and about 30% through, they made her go depressed and she lost weight. It is later remarked that she is still 'curvy' where it counts but this story is supposed to be a month after the big awful (my way of not tossing in spoilers), and how is it possible for a girl that was basically like a size eighteen to suddenly loose enough weight to sport yoga pants and a sports bra living off Cheetos and Champagne? That just didn't work for me. There needed to be a more believable element with her transformation.
As for Con--yeah, he wasn't really a bad boy, he was just kinda thick headed. He claims that he can't love, well won't, because all the people he loves die or go away. Horrible things happen when you love.
We couldn't have come up with a better conflict?
Yes, those things did bother me, however, how strangely the characters were created and brought to live they somehow had this incredible chemistry that you actually could feel as a couple. I thought the story was a bit wordy, and drug us along with far to much tension that pretty much by the end I was like--Oh, please you all are still gonna not communicate?
But like I said, I still somehow enjoyed this book for the subtle flaws that I found without. I found that I wanted so hard to keep reading, yet there were painfully redundant scenes that I set my kindle down for a few hours before I went back and pushed through to get to more of the really clever banter, and the sexual tension. I think when you lay it all out the story had huge potential, could have been a five star from me, if both characters would have just talked a bit more instead of relying on clever snark to get them through each scene.
They were obviously in love.
The fact Lizzie didn't believe it at the beginning and took him at face value was silly to me. He was there, no one else was, and I think if she would have pushed him just a bit, he would have stayed instead of the month parting.
So, like I said it was the little things that made me struggle to love it--I think if some more deep flushing out went into the story I would have been sold hook line and sinker. I do want to read more of Jennifer Lewis!

The story starts with heiress Lizzie Hathaway being lied to about everything in the world by her fiancée Conroy Beale. She discovers the perfidy right after being told that her father has stolen her inheritance and racked up $2 million in debt n her name before being indicted for securities fraud.
As Lizzie is finding out that everything that she thought she knew about Con was in fact not true, Con tries to make himself blameless in Lizzie’s misconceptions about who he is, offering gems such as:
“I guess you did make it up a little bit, believed what you wanted to believe.”
Yet he never corrects the misconceptions that he knows Lizzie has about his identity, making him absolutely complicit in Lizzie’s deception. He’s all, ‘I didn’t lie, you made up these elaborate stories in your head and believed what you wanted to believe’, but she also believed what he let her believe so while he might not have outright lied he’s definitely been deceiving her.
Fed up with Con’s BS Lizzie awesomely hits Con upside the head with a bottle of champagne and takes off for a month-long downward spiral fueled by Cheetos and champagne. Con tracks Lizzie down to save her from herself and he’s all I wasn't dumping you, you dumped me.
Seriously? What else were you planning to do after you basically told the girl you didn’t want to marry her anymore and didn’t say anything when she asked you if you loved her? Apparently, he has come after her to teach her how to survive now that she’s penniless and be her friend. So was he going to be giving survival lessons and friendship if Lizzie had stayed in New York?
No, turns out he was still prepared to marry her because he had made a promise to her. What? No, seriously, what? Con also shares his belief that he can’t love anyone based on the fact that everyone he’s loved has died. Wow, that’s super original. These big revelations are followed by Lizzie predictably denying any desire to marry Con now. Then, in a less predictable move, Lizzie jumps Con and they have ground sex in the middle of the desert next to Con’s car. Apparently this is to teach him that she doesn’t need his pity. Or something like that.
So Lizzie and Con then regroup after their dusty desert sex and discuss lies, happiness and the gang tattoo on Con’s ass. Con then delivers some of his clever advice via-a-via happiness and lies:
“You were happy with me…maybe living in a world of illusion isn’t such a bad thing?”
Yes, because that is what every girl wants; to be living happily in ignorant bliss because the man she thinks she is in love with is lying to her about every single facet of his existence.
Our intrepid hero and heroine then travel to Phoenix where we get to the heart of the story. In order to cash in on the notoriety surrounding her troubles, Lizzie proposes that she and Con get married and have the wedding televised. Wacky hijinks ensue.
Despite the rocky beginning, this book hits its stride about a third of the way in and there are some enjoyable moments. Naturally, because this is a fairly generic romance novel, Con isn’t quite the cad that he appears in the beginning of the story and he does have feelings for Lizzie (he likes her, he really likes her). Even so, throughout the book Con accuses Lizzie of dumping him when she found out he wasn’t rich.
Con seems to be forgetting the part where he lied to Lizzie for weeks and then told her he didn’t love her making it seem like he was just with her for her money. I honestly believe that Con’s background would not have mattered in the least to Lizzie if he had just been honest with her in the beginning. That’s the type of character she is and Con’s repetitive inability to place the blame where it belongs, on himself, is tedious.
While the middle of the book is quite enjoyable there is too much back and forth during the final part of the story. As Lizzie says at one point, the script keeps changing and it’s hard to keep track. Usually one of my criticisms of a book this length would be that it was too short, but in this case I was kind of glad to see the story come to an end.
Bottom Line: This book is a quick read and has some good moments. Overall, however, it only gets an ‘okay’ rating from me.
I would like to point out first that due to the sexual content this book is for mature readers. Which mean there is some pretty hot stuff!
Lizzie Hathaway had it all, heiress to an empire that she really had no desire to be a part of expectations she felt she could never meet in her parents eyes. However she meets Conroy Beale and he brought out her confidence to stand up to her parents, he made her feel beautiful and sexy something that she had always lack in her curvy body. He was gorgeous, wealthy, educated, everything she could ever want and he wanted her, or so she thought.
Everything comes crashing down around Lizzie and when she confronts Con and the truth comes out who he really is she can’t believe that she was so stupid. That anyone could actually want her, could actually just love her for who she was. Conroy really cares for Lizzie but Love he’s not capable of anymore. Heartbroken and angry Lizzie flees New York.
Lizzie hates Con actually she hates that she still cares for the man and when he shows up to save her from herself she is determined to get back at him for hurting her this time.
In a rollercoaster of events Con and Lizzie both discover things about themselves that facing the past can only help clear a path to the future and sometimes Love is really all you need.
Jennifer Lewis really knows how to bring out the laughter and the heartbreak in one sitting you couldn’t help but feel for these characters and in the end you felt as if you were right there with them.

This was a sweet, funny, emotional love story between two characters you can't help but root for.
Lizzie is a spoilt rich girl who at the beginning of the story loses all her money. She returns to Conroy her fiancé to give him the news only to find he has been using her for her money.
This begins the a turn of events which includes kidnapping, fake weddings, long lost siblings and forgotten fortunes. I won't spoil it because it is a great read and each surprise makes it a page turner.
I loved Con, he is so loving even though he believes himself incapable and after everything he goes through manages to remain his cocky, sexy arrogant self. He was forever loyal to Lizzie and wanted to help her overcome her many insecurities.
Lizzie is a cool heroine and I loved how she didn't take any crap, however I think she took her revenge with Con too far, and also jumped to too many conclusions without waiting for an explanation from Con who was very understanding with her.
This was an easy read that kept me interested throughout. My favourite quote
"I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want to end each day with you in my arms. No pretense or trickery or lies, just you and me, together"
If a relationship could work with just lust then Lizzie and Conroy would be great; however, the issue of trust has ruined any chance they had. Lizzie has lived a life of luxury and never put much thought to it. She really just wanted a relationship with her parents or someone she could bond with. She has never felt great about herself but Conroy makes her feel amazing on the inside and out. She realizes she wants this forever, that is until she looses it all.
The money is gone and Lizzie finds out that is a problem for her relationship. Conroy is unable to love but if he could feel that deeply for someone it would be Lizzie. That is why it kills him to find out how much his deception has hurt her. He has to make her realize how amazing she is and that he wants to spend the rest of her life making her feel. As a matter of fact he loves who she feels all over.
Lizzie has been burned by her family and the man she loves and now it is time for revenge. The only thing she is looking out for now is herself and she is determined to make Conroy feel some of her pain. The problem with this plan is how much she still wants him. The more they are together the harder it is to fight her feelings for him.
This story is hot and dirty. It gets even hotter down in the Louisiana swamps.
Thank you Mangrove and NetGalley for allowing me to read.
This is the first Jennifer Lewis book I have read and I was pleasantly surprised with it! The characters where very well written as well as the story line. I really enjoyed Lizzie! Her spunk and attitude were great and highly entertaining to read! Towards the beginning of the story she gets emotionally burned by Conrad, then does what every woman on the face of this planet wants to do after being hurt, sets out to get revenge. Boy does she ever get it. She puts him through the ringer, and it turns out to be more than what even she wanted. Conrad takes it all in stride though. He was a very easy going, easy to like, easy to fall for kind of guy. He knows he deserves everything that Lizzie dishes out plus some, but since he cares for Lizzie and never really meant to hurt her, he lets her get her revenge and keeps his chin up. When the passion finally starts up, or back up, between these two, it is HOT but also very emotional. I will definitely be recommending this book! I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for an honest review.
Loved every minute of this book and hoping for a book 2!!!!
Have you ever started a relationship of backwards? This is the case for Conroy Beale and Lizzie Hathaway. Lizzie is a NY heiress to millions and is in love with and marrying Conroy on Friday. She goes to the Hamptons to tell her parents who disapprove. Conroy is a mechanic with a past but does not tell Lizzie his profession. When her rescues her he is in an expensive car and Armani suit, Lizzie’s imagination runs wild and Conroy let her believe every detail she has drummed up in her mind including his tattoo in an undisclosed location which is his “family crest”. Lizzie soon find out her father has spent her multimillion dollar inheritance and is awaiting prison time. She still wants Conroy until he tells her the truth, he is not a French aristocrat but a con artiest as Lizzie sees it.
A modern riches to rags to riches story with an alluring Southern guy and sassy female lead. I love the Louisiana setting! The supporting female character does grow on you after awhile too. A fun and mysterious love story.
Cute story, with a little change of situation that make the plot interesting and a little unusual compared to the usual romance that have among their protagonists a rich heiress and a handsome dowry-Hunter.

The setting of the story of this book, in Louisiana, shows the special charm of this Southern State of the United States where time seems to have stopped a long time ago. The story of Con is moving and the author's choice to develop the plot following the evolution of a reality show is a nice idea and a very particular one. Lizzie and the characters are well described and we'll written. Their interactions are funny and the secondary characters in the book help to keep the ironic mood that the author wanted to set in her story. Con is a man to discover, even for Lizzie, who only knew him by his omitted truth, not lies, the guy is very cunning. Lizzie after her misadventures discovers a side of her character that she did not know to have and Con didn't expect it too, even if he takes the whole situation because of his feeling of guilt. He's still a Knight with shining armor for her, he wants to help her in a moment of great difficulty. A quick read, pretty, light and fun. Thanks toNetgalley and Mangrove for the book.
I was not expecting to like this book. I generally don't like the New Adult genre, I find it too dramatic and far too over the top for my taste. I decided to give A Bad Boy is Hard to Find because I like Jennifer Lewis's writing and she has not let me down so far. The first few chapters of this book did nothing to endear me to the genre, and I even contemplated throwing in the towel at one point. Somehow this book grew on me. Despite all the drama and unbelievability of the plot, there was actually a lot of heart and warmth to be found here. I ended up liking it quite a bit.
i got this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review...
ok, i have to start off by saying that this book bored me up until the end...
I honestly couldn’t stand the heroine, Lizzie. seriously, it was your typical rich good girl, who is not skinny and everyone walks all over her. then you can't help but feel bad when something bad happens to her, but you know it was going to happen, because it was just to good to be true.. then throughout the whole book is turns into a totally bitch....
Conroy on the other hand, i also had mixed emotions. Right from the beginning he was using her because of her money. he had a huge plan to marry her, make her happy, then follow thru with his plan. what a complete douche-bag, then when you read further they want you to feel sorry for him..... REALLY... these two were meant for each other...
o.k. i am getting a head of myself. let me start off by saying that Lizzie was rich. her family was rich by a family company. her father was using her and ended up getting arrested for fraud. Now, she has no money. her father also told her that she could not marry her love of her life Conroy because he does not fit the profile for the family image.. Lizzie in return runs back to her love of her life to tell him that she was now broke, but she still has high hopes for them to be together because she was ready to be a normal person with loans, debt, and struggles. little did she know that Conroy had something else in mind. He left her.. now you will follow Lizzie in her demize of being poor. racking up tons of credit card debt and horrible press. Conroy feels bad for her and knows that she needs a friend and also someone to help her survive. he will hunt her down and kidnap to till she sees the error in her ways.. the two will come up with a plan to make money. they will get the newspaper or t.v show to pay them to get married and they will be rich. she plans this huge event and tracks down Conroy's old family town to make his life miserable because it was pay back for what he did. these two will also have lots of sex, even though they are angry with each other they always have time for make up sex. they will argue and try to one up each other. it was kind of funny to see everything ravel out, but also annoying because i was tried of reading the pity me party.
you will also find out about the family secrets that Conroy has, this will stir a lot of new trouble and drama. Lizzie will find out that she has a heart after all, and that she feels bad for all the wrong doing she has been doing. Conroy will have to face his secrets and finally be able to figure out what he wants out of life. there is a lot of new people that will come and go with their own form of drama that you will want to read about. i know you will want to stop reading it, but keep going because it does get good and then slow down again..
To say A Bad Boy is Good to Find has an unconventional start would be an understatement. Not many books start with the utter demise of love. Yet, that is exactly where we find ourselves with this book.
I really wasn't sure I liked Lizzie much, at first. She initially comes across as a spoiled upper-crust socialite fighting with her parents who don't want her to marry the man of her dreams. Very quickly, she changed my mind. Her plan for the future she never anticipated was realistic and based solely on love. Too bad what she thought she knew about Conroy was all a lie.
"Her heart both sank and rose at the same time. Funny how it could still do that when it was broken."
I can't say that I was always on Lizzie's side but I always wanted to be. That says something right? Con, on the other hand...I wanted to hate him. He makes it pretty impossible, especially a little over half way through the story when his past and his desires start coming to light.
Here's the rub. Con really isn't a bad boy. Not in my definition anyway. Yes, he somewhat conned his way into Lizzie's life, he's a liar and maybe a little of a cheat. But his intentions are way too sweet and pure to consider him a bad boy. That doesn't mean I didn't really (really) enjoy him and the way he treats Lizzie throughout most of the book is super swoon worthy.
"I've been a fool, but I'm not one any more."
There was something about A Bad Boy is Good to Find that felt strange though. I think it was the way the characters spoke. It was at times, casual and current and at other times all too stuffy. It made it difficult for me to find the characters relatable from the start. BUT, once I did get a handle on it...I felt it. I felt Lizzie's heart break, I felt Con struggle with where his life came from and where it was heading. I felt the need of Lewis' characters. And really, that is never a bad thing.
So, while the title is slightly misleading, the characters have an odd staunchy way of speaking at times and perhaps the book feels a tad bit long...it was still an enjoyable read with some very heartwarming moments.
The overall story was intriguing and fast paced. I’ll keep my review short and sweet because this is one of those books where if you say too much you give away the entire story. The characters helped to make the story sweet and humorous at times. The story is set in the Louisiana bayous. Side note here guys: not everyone in Louisiana lives in a home with a bayou for a backyard. I was very happy she didn’t portray Louisiana in the hillbilly way some other writer’s tend to do so often.
We meet a spoiled, rich girl in the beginning of this story named Lizzie. She loses all her money and turns to her fiancé, only to find out that he was using her for her money. Not the best thing to find out when you turn to the guy you thought loved you for comfort. So what would any sane woman do when faced with the total destruction of life as she thought she knew it, she sets out for revenge! My kind of girl!
Conroy was her fiancé, and boy was he an attractive hero. Although he was using her for her money, we come to see him in a different light as the story goes on. Not that he didn’t deserve to have Lizzie seek revenge for his betrayal, but she does go a little further than she planned. Conroy takes everything she throws at him hoping to show her he really does genuinely care about her, even without her money.
The story has lots of twists and turns, as well as enough hot steamy scenes to have you fanning your face. There was betrayal, partying, kidnapping, revenge, weddings, long lost siblings and many other secrets thrown at you from every angle. This story will definitely keep you interest till the end. My only comment was that I never truly felt a connection to the characters. I never felt like I was a part of their story, or felt what they felt. Maybe it’s just me, but I really need that connection to fall in love with a story. Although I did like the plot and the humorous parts of this story, I felt like I was just watching a fast paced movie from the side lines instead of being there in the action. Aside from that it’s still worth the read. I would rate this story at 3.5 Stars!
**Received free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review** Solid 3 stars. Despite the racy cover, the story was a pretty sweet. It was about a man trying to redeem himself for tricking a woman into falling in love with him because she just happened to be filthy rich. When Lizzie’s father loses the family money, she uncovers Conroy’s duplicity and is less then pleased. Conroy is far from the con-artist that he is trying to be. Even though he didn’t love Lizzy, he truly cared for her. So when she goes on a down-ward spiral laced with Cheetos and alcohol, Conroy kidnaps her to dry her out. And to teach her how to survive without her family’s money. Queue the wacky adventure. The book was an enjoyable read but could have been so much more than it was. The book went to so a few different directions that it started going to the implausible category (even for a romance novel). However, what saved the book were the other characters of the book, like Lizzie’s cousin Maisie. She was self-fish, somewhat whorish and sometime cruel yet loveable at the same time. I actually wish a book about her instead of Lizzie. Her character seemed a lot more interesting than Lizzie’s. Lizzie quickly became disenchanted because 1) her father lost all her money 2) Conroy had feet of clay Both valid arguments. However…. With an entire book to go through her constant, ummm, bitchiness was starting to wear on me. And for someone who didn’t want her money in the first place, she sure did miss it when it was gone. And the process of trying to acquire money made her crass and materialistic, two qualities that she hated in other in the beginning. Meanwhile, Conroy was veering to the other direction. Although he wanted to marry for money, he was also going to try his hardest to make Lizzie happy in exchange, no matter what. Now that she was even more broke than he was, Conroy put everything on hold to try to help her out. So: Loved Conroy. Irritated by Lizzie. Loved her cousin and currently wishing for her own book. All in all it was a decent read if not a memorable one.
I received a free e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I'm in two minds about this book. The way that every thing is described is very detailed and brings the scenes to life. The characters, however, are another thing altogether.
The fact that Lizzie assumed everything about Conroy just shows how naive she is and how Conroy just let her believe it speaks volumes about a serious lack of trust. The fact that he thought he could marry her and not tell her about himself, just goes to show that he was only interested in one thing. He may say that he could marry her and make her happy but when the money is taken off the table, he quickly changes his mind.
When she does a runner, he tracks her down and tries to help her get back on her feet but she is only interested in making him pay for using her. She decides to get even and talks him into marrying her but only for show, or in this case, a tv show.
She decides to sell their story to a tv network that her cousin works for, getting them to foot the bill and also pay her $50,000. He agrees but doesn't realise that she's going to make him pay in the worst way. She insists that they go back to the small town on the Bayou where he grew up. Somewhere he hasn't been to since he ran away from at the age of 14.
What is supposed to be a show about their wedding soon turns into the Conroy Beale show as he finds out about his family and his past. The network decides to follow up on his story and Lizzie gets pushed to one side.
When I was reading this book my feelings towards the characters kept changing. I found them both to be both likable but also really annoying. They both needed a boot up the backside and a good shake at times. They both had their own agenda but if they had just been honest with each other, they would have been able to resolve their problems and avoid all the pain they put themselves through.
The rest of the characters are funny and the story is interesting but I don't know that I would buy this book if I was browsing in my local bookstore.
New York heiress Lizzie Hathaway is not quite the media babe you might expect her to be, she is anything but. This does not bother her though, she thinks she is the luckiest woman alive as she has found her dream man in Conroy Beale, a man she believes is every bit as rich as she is. Conroy makes her feel good about herself, she isn't exactly the typical heiress type and is lacking in confidence when it comes to her appearance and personal life. That Conroy chose her has her walking on cloud nine, and when he proposes to her she feels like the luckiest woman alive.
But then her whole world comes crashing down around her in spectacular style. Her father is arrested for fraud after he has embezzled all of Lizzie's inheritance and then she finds out that Conroy is not the man he claims to be. Lizzie is devastated, firstly she has to endure the very public scandal surrounding her father and then she discovers that Conroy is not the rich tycoon he told her he was, instead he is a mechanic with no money. Believing that Conroy does not really love her, and that all he was truly after was her money, Lizzie spirals out of control.
But Conroy truly does love her and now he must prove that he is not just out for what he get out of her. In order to this he kidnaps Lizzie and then allows himself to be dragged back to the Bayou where he hails from. Lizzie believes she has conned Conroy into marrying her - exclusively filmed by her scheming cousin who works for a TV company. What she does not bank on are her growing feelings for the man she believes has duped her.
Loved this book!
From the moment I began reading this book I was totally hooked. I loved the characters, the plot and the ending was fantastic. I loved the concept, loved how the guy was poor for a change. I loved how everything went belly up and the woman acted bad and the guy was the one trying to put everything right.
I loved the open. It started out in the Bad Boy's POV. His name is Con and he let the reader know he was conning a wealthy heiress into marrying him because he needed the money. But! He planned to make her the happiest woman in the world for the rest of his life. Sweet, huh?
I loved the monkey wrench thrown in when we get into the heroine's head and she learns that she is bankrupt thanks to her swindling father. Lizzie is a shy, curvy heiress that fell hard for the rock hard tall drink of water who swept her off her feet and wanted to put a ring on it after four weeks. When Lizzie drops the broke-bomb on Con the sh*t hits the fan and she hits him with a bottle of wine and storms out. Four weeks later and Con, wracked with guilt, finds Lizzie at the bottom of a bottle in a swanky yoga retreat and kidnaps her to dry her out and get her back on her feet.
Thus begins an adventure of epic proportions that involves fabricating a wedding to sell to a reality television channel; a head hanging low return home for both hero and heroine; a mystery complete with long lost letters found hidden in the bed of a bayou mansion; and two swindling financial advisors and one vengeful cousin out to destroy our couple by any costs.
Though there's a lot going on, the plotting is really interesting and well-paced. My problem is that the characters are not. I feel no chemistry between them and my compassion for them dissolved somewhere are 25%. Lizzie, who started of sweet and naive, is rightfully angry and bitter with the world -especially Con for the raw deal he dealt her. Con is guilt-ridden and trying to repent. He takes everything Lizzie dishes out to him. His compliance and her ire just started to make me uncomfortable. And then they'd have emotionless sex? After which she'd start to bitch at him again and he'd just take it all with a shrug. It was not a good look for either of them.
A Bad Boy is Good to Find by Jennifer Lewis is NOT for the shy, those who blush easily or have a heart condition! It’s that hot! The pace is fast, the tension runs full out between Lizzie, a spoiled little rich girl who loses all of her money and Conroy, her fiancé, who, even though he does care for her, was using her FOR her money. You know, what she no longer has any of? What is Lizzie to do? She sets out on a mission of revenge, of course! As the object of her revenge, what does Conroy do? Believe it or not, her takes what she dishes out, to try and prove that he really does care for her, money or no! So, will Lizzie ever trust Conroy again?
If the humor and spicy sex doesn’t hold your interest, there is also deceit, kidnapping, weddings, and even long lost family showing up! Jennifer Lewis has written a hot read with enough hairpin turns to give you whiplash! Grab a fan, enjoy a fun read!

Review Copy This book starts out with Lizzie telling her parents she's getting married. They do not approve of her marriage, but things go south when she finds out her father lost all of there money and may be going to prison. Now when Lizzie goes home to tell her fiance Con, things go from bad to worse when she learns somethings about him she never would have thought possible.
Now with Lizzie's life in shambles, Con feels guilty so he tries to do what he can to help her out. Things get all kinds of messed up with Lizzie comes up with a scheme to get money for her and Con. And Con just goes along with her because he feels guilty.
I have to be honest, I didn't really like the hero, or the heroine at all. It made me dislike the story some as well. I really didn't start to like it till about eighty percent into the book. Then I actually liked what was going on. And I really enjoyed the ending it was sweet! So over all I would say the book was okay. It has an interesting plot line, but I just wasn't feeling it was for me.

This was a sweet, funny, emotional love story between two characters you can't help but root for. Jennifer Lewis really knows how to bring out the laughter and the heartbreak in one sitting you couldn't help but feel for these characters and in the end you felt as if you were right there with them.
This begins the a turn of events which includes kidnapping, fake weddings, long lost siblings and forgotten fortunes. Lots of ups and down for Lizzie and Con…..
When the passion finally starts up, or back up, between these two, it is HOT but also very emotional. Despite the intriguing and unique plot parts of the story were a little slow. There is a lot of conversation that distracts a bit from the flow. The same conversation between Lizzie and Conroy seems to be had over and over again.
This is a story that keeps you wondering what Con's game is. I was totally wrong with my guess work.
I liked that Lizzie's character, she is feisty and pissed off with Con, her story was apparent right from the start. Con's was not, not until over half way through and then when I (and her) discovers what it is, you think oh hell, what is she going to do now. The story is not about revenge anymore it is about something else entirely.
There is a bit where he grabs her hand, drags her out of the house and throws her into the Bayou, that is a sweet scene (there is a lot more to it than I have just said but don't want to spoil it).
This is another book where the characters stay true to their nature the whole way through, no personality refits and that works really well, the end game changes but they don't.
Hmmm... I'm not sure about this book. It just didn't set right with me.
The boyfriend is a liar. Conroy (Con) misleads Lizzie with his lies. He lets her think he's a mechanical engineer, but he's a mechanic. He drives an expensive car & one of his past rich lovers had given it to him. He didn't buy it! When she loses her money & runs to him, he finally tells her the truth. She loves him, but he cannot return the sentiment... But then, he decides out of guilt, to dry her out & take care of her.
It does work out in the end, but I just can't agree with it being ok to base a relationship on a foundation of lies... Jennifer Lewis is a good descriptive writer & I enjoyed that. I just didn't agree with the plot.
The title of this book doesn't suit it. Conroy isn't really a bad boy. More like, misunderstood. I grew rather fond of him throughout this book. Lizzie was more annoying. She's selfish, pretentious and constantly taking things the wrong way. But, as unlikable as she is, this is still a great story. I think with a different title, the book would be more successful. I kept expecting Conroy to be a horrible bad guy, but he's not. He's amazing. The story line is quite different from other things I've read, and interesting. It was exciting to read, I didn't put it down. It's a good read, I'm sure people will enjoy it, like I said, title should be changed.
Given this ab-rific cover the story onside was not what I was expecting. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. Even after reading the cover write up I wasn’t expecting to find a weight battling heroine and a truly sweet hero.
These two bumbled around in the best way. I giggled throughout. A great cast of surrounding characters too. Many not at all what you think they are from the beginning. Lewis left plenty of room to re-visit if she so chooses. I can see a series forming.
Total summer candy read. Just good fun and a great beach book.

A heart felt love story that test the trust between two good friends. Con is a gorgeous poor hunk from the Louisiana Bayou. He takes on the role of an Aristocratic French man to impress Lizzy who is an heiress to a fortune herself. When Lizzie finds out her inheritance is gone, blown by her farther she tells Con. Con then confesses his true identity. Although Con has really fell for Lizzie he tells her he can never really truly love anyone. Lizzie heartbroken flees and Con chases her and kidnaps her to try and help her. Then the story of Lizzie and Con begins. Great read, real chemistry!
