The Moses Trilogy #1

The Moses Conspiracy

Rate this book
A trip to post-terrorized Washington, D.C. in 2025 and a buggy accident in Bird-in-Hand, PA set in motion events that expose a diabolical plan to destroy the Christian community. Ellie and John Zimmerman find themselves embroiled in a life-threatening investigation, fighting a shadowy enemy.

Convinced it's now safe to visit D.C., Ellie and her firstborn, 8-year-old Peter, travel to the nation's capital. Both mother and child make an effort to enjoy the sights, but they're unprepared for the challenges they face. Her nightmares come true when she and Peter are separated.

Back home, John witnesses a neighbor's buggy accident. The suspicious circumstances and law enforcement's refusal to take them seriously prompt him to take on the role of detective. He and a tenacious reporter band together to find out what's happening in Bird-in-Hand.

Extended family squabbles erupt when John's sister, Annaliese, faces off with Ellie for blowing her D.C. experiences out of proportion. She'd rather ignore the warnings than deal with the growing danger.

John and Ellie can't decide whether her trip and his involvement with the accident were such a good idea. People are getting hurt, and their own family receives ominous warnings. Turning back the clock is not an option, but going forward could initiate more violence.

The small community is shattered when the unthinkable occurs. Will family, friends, and neighbors band together or allow fear to prevent them from taking action?

Caught between strained family relationships and a faceless enemy, the couple rely on God for wisdom and protection. Little do they know that He's working on their behalf each step of the way.

The scabs of a past tragedy get ripped open, and the truth of their second child's death is revealed. While they may expose the culprits, will they survive the heartache it brings?

What will the world by like in 2025? Ellie Zimmerman has taken her son, Peter to Washington, D.C. for a field trip. There are solders everywhere trying to protect the capital from another terriost attack. Is that really why they are there? Ellie has many uneasy feelings because there are so many changes taking place. They spend the night but in a very different way than they were expecting.

While back at home a mystery seems to be unraveling. Just one of the mysteries is when Zeb Butler's wheel on his buggy came off as he was turning a corner in town. John Zimmerman, Ellie's husband takes it upon himself to do some investigating work after several instances take place.

The past and future are interwinded in this book. The suspense kept me turning pages. This book can become the future of our world if we do not take a stand for what we believe. I hope there will be a sequel to this compelling story by a new author, Susan Reinhardt. I can't wait to read more of her works.

Susan Reinhardt was a new author to me till I saw "The Moses Conspiracy" announcement on Helping Hands press web page and I knew I had to read this book. Susan Reinhardt gave me an pdf and then I won an copy of the ebook and I'm glad. I give this book 5 stars.
I have to admit this book is quite different than I thought it was about. I thought it was going to be a story about Moses from the Bible and him leading people. But you see I didn't read the description but I am not sorry I was wrong, I loved this story.
This book is about the future, 2018, but some of the things that are written about are happening now. Our freedoms are being taken from the Christians and we just set back and let it happen. There is a group that is targeting buggies and pregnant woman that all ready have a child. John Zimmerman and a reporter are determined to find the reason why and they put their lives in danger. In the middle of all this terror, Ellen tries to help eight year Peter to learn about the freedoms that the United States was builted on while facing opposition from family members. This book mentions Amish but isn't an Amish story. This books has a story about when you give to the less fortune you get blessed to. I will not expand on that expect to say it is a Christmas story and 8 year Peter. This book kept me turning the pages to see what was going to happen next. I was surprised at the people that was the bad guys. I really didn't see it ending that way. This book will leave you with the question "Is the way the future really going to"? When I finished this book I wrote on the author's facebook page that it needed a sequel and she responded that it was the first book in a trilogy. I can't wait until the next book in this trilogy is out.

The Moses Conspiracy hits the ground running by leading the reader through a gripping series of events. When Ellie and her 8-year-old son Peter visit the nation's capital in 2025, they run into problems beyond their wildest dreams. Ellie is falsely accused of a crime and separated from her son. Her husband John, at home in Bird in Hand, PA, encounters a mysterious event in their absence. Neither Ellie nor John have a clue about the nightmare their family has stepped into.

National unrest extends its fingers to even the Zimmerman's tiny hamlet, once thought isolated to the outside world due to its tourist attraction qualities. The façade is barely skin deep, though, as John and Ellie discover dangerous secrets and a plot to eliminate a certain sector of society.

Author Susan Reinhardt offers authentic characters and action that entertain and propel the reader into the future. Rich with elements from the past as well, this story provides a sobering and thought provoking glimpse of a much-changed nation. This page turning adventure is filled to the brim with intrigue and suspense.

This is not a genre I normally gravitate toward; however, I enjoyed the story very much. It held my interest and did not let go until the very end. If you like mysterious and compelling tales laced with a good conspiracy, then this is the book for you.

I won this book in a blog giveaway and thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Set in 2025, it speculates about the kind of country the United States will be then. If we follow the trend of recent years, it is certainly plausible that our religious freedoms could be stripped from us, as the book predicts. From the opening scenes of a scary homeschooler's trip to visit our nation's capital to mysterious accidents at home in Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania, to its dramatic conclusion, the suspense builds to a crescendo. Homeschool mother, Ellie Zimmerman, deals with PTSD from a previous trauma, difficult relationships with her in-laws, and worry over her husband's sleuthing that puts them all in danger, while showing her 9-year-old son, Peter, the importance of sharing with those less fortunate than he. The story draws to a satisfactory conclusion with enough loose ends to be taken up in its promised sequels.

What do you think America might be like in the year of 2025? The Moses Conspiracy keeps you in suspense. Ellie and John Zimmerman must weigh the consequences, follow Christ or bend to the world norm? Ellie and John put their lives on the line, speaking out and putting into action their Christian ethics.

Entertaining, though provoking, and packed full with historical knowledge about our United States history, Reinhardt does an outstanding job in giving the reader plenty to keep them turning the pages!

I read this fabulous book in less than 48 hours. It made me think, trying to solve the mystery but also trying to imagine how I would react personally to living with severely restricted Christian freedom. As a homeschool Mom I enjoyed the character of Elizabeth and how the reality of schooling your child day to day was portrayed. Excellent effort! Can't wait to read Reinhardt again!
