Called Missy by the family that rescued her, she has no memory of her life before she awoke in the Murphy cabin in Chance, Texas, 1890. Clues to her past are few, but questions are many as she struggles to remember her past and trust God to reveal her true identity. A task made more difficult by her growing attraction to the man who rescued her.
Jared Murphy is a man who lost his heart to the wrong woman and vowed it would never happen again. Until the moment he and his aunt rescued an injured young woman from a nearby creek bank. Half-drowned, she has no memory of her name or her past--or the reason why someone tried to kill her. In his quest to help her, can Jared set aside his wounded pride and learn to love again?
I enjoyed this short story about a woman who is found by the edge of a river half dead. It takes her memory quite some time to return. In the meantime, she is cared for by a family who is supportive and hardworking. When tragedy strikes them, she springs into action to help the injured, triggering a return of her memory-- loss, violence and love. A good story that needs no sex scenes to be entertaining.
This short romance novel had just the right blend of sweetness, adventure, romance, and faith. The only issue I had with it was the word 'breath' being used instead of the word 'breathe'. Other than that, I loved it. I was hooked from the beginning. If you enjoy sweet, inspirational romance with a bit of adventure, I recommend this book to you.
This was a sweet read with a unique story line. I enjoyed the twists and turns that the author took us on. It held my attention and was just right for a weekend read.
I find the coincidences too scripted---the Murphys called her the nickname that her grandfather used and the husband and wife who escorted here were her grandfather's murderers. And were the Howards the ones who robbed Lloyd's store?
Good book. Short but sweet, and easy to read. Wasn’t one of those books you had to read around the world to get to the point. The only thing I do miss out of some books is when they don’t have a epilogue, and this book did not. J O
Western Romance...Nice family, good characters - though I would have enjoyed a longer novel so the characters could have been deeper and more fully developed. Regardless, it was a simple story with twists and turns and enough drama to keep me turning the pages.
Light, easy-reading short story. Nothing terribly remarkable but not bad reading either, despite being predictable --just a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours.
