Before getting the government job in Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, I used to study from multiple books. To cover Islamic Studies, my friend recommended reading Islamiat by Farkhanda Noor Muhammad. Basically, this book is for O-Level students, but it was very helpful when learning about basics of islam such as history of Holy Quran, life of Holy Prophet, and more. You will find it easy to read and understand, absorbing knowledge is also convenient. From article of faith to five pillars of islam and the period of rightly guided caliphs, the book comprises everything that is enough to qualify for the post like LDC etc. With this book, I covered Islamiat part of syllabus which in posts like LDC is 10-20 questions. I also noted down key points for MCQs like the word quran has appeared 55 times in Holy Quran. Overall, do read it if you intend to cover the very basics of islamiat and at least score a few points in tests like LDC.

I read this as a student for O Levels, and I think it was one of the best written books for someone who wants basic knowledge of Islam, the Prophet (SAW) and Allah. It’s easy to understand and the language used is simple and to the point. She covers a range of topics and basically manages to cover everything a person would need to know especially if they are new to the religion. I would recommend this to anyone learning about Islam and anyone wanting more general knowledge about it.

A bit inconsistent at times. Really keeps the flow. Sometimes I can’t keep up. Easy to follow, especially for studies.
