This book starts off three months after the end of the previous book. Duncan Roark, the leader of the VC Warriors’ Cincinnati branch has always given everything he was to his fellow warriors and their VC Council. Protecting innocent vampires and humans were his life. Until he fell in love with social worker Pam Braxton, a human, something he never thought would happen. And when she ran away three months ago after the horrific events that happened because of her now ex-boyfriend, and it came to light that he was abusing her, all that mattered to Duncan was finding her and never letting her go again.

Pam used to be a boisterous person, who loved life and her work as a social worker. Until she realised her boyfriend, Kenny Lawrence, whom she lived with has been using her for his nefarious activities, preying on the very children she tried to keep safe. But when she tried to get away from him and put a stop to what he was doing, he threatened the people she loved most. Forced to stay in an abusive relationship, Pam loses more of herself with every horrific encounter. But when she hears about Kenny’s plans to take out the VC Warriors, she finds the courage to save her friends and the man she loves. But shame and a secret leaves her with no other choice than to run away from everyone.

But Duncan is not the only one looking for Pam, for Pam’s secret could change the rocky balance between the vampires and humans.

“You make me feel like I can be normal again.” Pam smiled sadly. “Thank you.”
“There is nothing normal about you, babe.” Duncan leaned close, but slow enough not to spook her. He had to take things extremely slowly. “You are everything special.”

I have loved the broody and grouchy blonde Duncan since the first book and he was just amazing in this book. The depth of his love for Pam was so beautiful and his protectiveness over her was total swoon-worthy.

Pam was very brave and selfless, sacrificing herself to her monster of a boyfriend to protect her friends. Even though I wished she had rather gotten help than submit to all the horrific things Kenny did to her, I did admire her loyalty and courage.

“Why are you doing this?” Pam shook her head in disbelief. “After everything that’s happened, how can you even stand to look at me?”
“You are burned into my memory. Everything I look upon, I see you.” Duncan leaned closer, slowly so not to frighten her. “Not even removing my eyes would take your image from me. I love and have loved you, Pam Braxton. I was a fool to let you walk away from me.”

The romance was great. I loved Duncan’s patience and understanding of Pam’s fears, and how hard he tried to help her heal.

I adore all the Warriors and their women. Their banter and teasing is hilarious and I love how they feel like one big family. The additional storylines we had with some of the secondary characters was wonderful. Tessa and Jared are solid in their relationship, until a picture brings all of Tessa’s insecurities to the fore. I love Tessa and in this book I just loved her even more. Her reaction to what happened was exactly how I would have felt in the same situation, and I love that I can relate to her so much. I understand why Jared is scared of changing Tessa, but if he really loves her so much, why hasn’t he asked her to marry him? I must say this really bugged me. Then there is the new introduction of the VERY sexy Dr. Slade Buchanan, whom I adored, and the sparks between him and half-breed Jill was freaking fantastic! I can’t wait to see what happens next with these two ;-)

The suspense continues with the baddies starting to trade in human trafficking, selling human women to be changed into half-breeds and then use them as breeders. The danger they pose to the VC Warriors increases with every book.

I love this series, it’s definitely one of my favorite PNR’s. A must read for all PNR fans.

I am a huge fan of Teresa Gabelman's books. Damon: was excellent. Jared: she out did herself. Duncan: She left me on edge waiting for book four to come out. Bad ass VC Warrior Duncan He's Perfect. Teresa will make you cry, laugh, and get angry and she'll have you ready to fight beside the warriors. But She gave us very believable charater's and you will fall in love with the VC Warriors.
I am hooked and can't wait for book four. I felt like a school girl with a crush on every VC Warrior and Warrior Half Breed. So I say do yourself a favor and read books 1-3 by Teresa Gabelman.

If you guys haven't read the first two books, well you need to. This is such an amazing series. I couldn't wait for Duncan & Pam's story. I was battling myself the whole time I was reading it. Do I want to keep turning the pages because it is just sooooooooooooooo good, or do I want to go slower so it doesn't end. Duncan is absolutely lost without Pam, and once she returns he doesn't want to let her out of his sight, and he's dying, as well as the other Warriors, to get revenge for what's happened. We are also introduced to another Warrior, Slade, who is a Doctor as well. I know the next book is about Sid, and I'm absolutely looking forward to it, but I also hope Slade & Jill get a book soon too. The Warriors are HYSTERICAL, I definitely laughed out loud quite a few times, and my hubs just looked at me like I was crazy, lol.
I cannot wait for the next book, I highly recommend this series. It has everything; sexy vampire warriors, lots of action, hot sex, an amazing plot, and the warriors are funny.

Banter mereka berdua menyentuh dan penuh janji komitmen. Banyak scene-scene kecil mengharukan dan tak terduga dari Duncan. Pendekatan seksual Pam agak tidak konsisten dengan fakta-fakta yang ditunjukan di sepanjang buku.

- Konfliknya utamanya bertambah dengan human traffic dan beberapa masih bersambung dari 2 buku sebelumnya. Konflik kecil Jared dan Tessa, Damon dan Nicole repetitif dan mengulang tema serupa.

- Kita akan menemukan beberapa karakter baru yang menjanjikan, kocak dan bikin penasaran. Timeline tidak jelas, dan storyline juga masih banyak plothole, tapi TG menulis kisah penuh potensi ini menjadi semakin menarik di tiap sekuelnya. Berharap buku selanjutnya, Sid si playboy akan bikin aku ngikik gelindingan.

I had issues with Pam. She was TSTL. I hated what she went to, but I could not help but believe she did it to herself. She had options. She chose not to get help. I HATED her situation and condition. It just does not work for me in romance.

Duncan was an awesome hero. He deserved SO much better!


This one verges on the not safe territory gang. Spoilers below...

She maintains a relationship with her LOSER boyfriend long after meeting Duncan
There is a non-con sex scene we get to experience. So rape sensitivities will not be ok with this one.
She runs....and runs...and runs...
She returns PREGNANT! With the LOSER ex's kid from the rape. This ruined the story for me.
Duncan is a SAINT. But I just had a bad feeling through the book.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN I HAVE TO WAIT!!! I AM SOOO NOT A PATIENT READER!! I WANT MORE LIKE NOOOOOOOW!

Ok so do you get the feeling I liked...er...scratch that...I LOVED this series? Well Good cuz I did. This book was an awesome addition to the series. It is Duncan's story but it is also setting up for Sid's book AND Slade's (excuse me while I wipe my drool) future book.

So this story is a continuation of Book 2. Pam is missing and Duncan is lost...and a walking dead man *giggles at my pun* with out this woman. He has loved her for so long and feels awful for what he presumes she has gone through with the Ex-Kenny. When Pam finally shows up, we find out EXACTLY what Kenny was doing and boy oh boy was it a great shocker. I loved how totally out of character Duncan is whenever pam is around. This tough as, hard as nails, VC Warrior boss is a pile of mush at this woman...this half breed vampire. I loved that the minute he sees her he tells her straight up "You are mine and I will never leave you again." Be still my beating heart. Well Pam has some big secrets that she spills to the guys about what Kenny has been up to. Now we see Kenny and boy oh boy is is a DB!!! Man, what a great BAD GUY!!!

I loved this book and how patient Duncan is with Pam and builds her shattered trust. He uses words but mainly his actions are the biggest assest in winning his girl....SWOOD and double THUD!!

Well lets get back to DB Kenny ok??? He has a traitor in the VC Warrior compound and they stir the pot and cause drama for MY WARRIOR Jared and his woman...GROWL!!!

Also poor half breed Jill has alot of reading time in this novel. She is such a sweetie and I love where I see her going in the series. She has been through so much but we never got to 'see" her until this book. She prooves herself to be a great friend AND possible love interest?? HRMMMMM

Slade...again wipes the drool...do I need to say more....hot ,smart and alpha...donezo...check please!!! LOL

Like I said before, this book has alot going on and it sets up for a great story line/plot for the next book. Human trafficking of human girls.........so if you like Vampires, and you like alpha males and you like a great story with twists and turns....you will not be let down!!!

Duncan is the third book in Teresa Gabelman’s The Protectors series. VC warrior Duncan Roark is devastated over Pam’s disappearance. Realizing he should have done more to make his feelings known to her he is desperate to find her, not only to claim the woman he loves, but to protect her from her sadistic ex who is hunting her.

By the end of the last book I had already fallen hard for the alpha warrior Duncan. He is a take control kind of vampire and hard as nails. In this book the reader gets to see a whole other side to Duncan. There is a softer side for sure, but only where Pam is concerned. She seems to have the ability to turn him inside out, which is definitely out of his comfort zone. After suffering at the hands of her abusive ex -boyfriend Kenny, Pam is a shell of her former self. I missed the mouthy tough girl. I was enraptured with the budding relationship between Duncan and Pam, and finally seeing her take her life back. I loved seeing the return of all my favorite characters. I am excited to see more of Sid and new comer Slade!

This series gets better and better. Although I really loved the first book, Damon, it is obvious that Gabelman has grown leaps and bounds as a writer. I was really touched by the story, and felt like I was sharing the feelings of the characters involved. I also like the fact that she writes with such depth. For example, Jared and Tessa love each other unconditionally, but they still have struggles to overcome as a couple. All of the trials and adversities make them feel more relatable to the readers.

If you are new to The Protectors, I insist that you start from book one. The characters from the other books have active roles and it is important to know their stories. I don’t think I will ever get enough of these sexy warriors, and I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the next book, which will be Sid’s story. Fans of paranormal romance will find that The Protectors is a series they can sink their fangs into!

This is (obviously) # 3 in this series and by far my most favorite. Now that being said it also the one with the least amount of sex. I know, I know, you're thinking I must be high right now...I know..sometimes I even surprise myself.
Here's why I loved it:
Duncan, our hero KNOWS without doubt that Pam is his and it doesn't take much convincing on Pam's part that he is her's. She happens to have a, lets call it "health issue", for fear of spoiling it, and Duncan is right there with her the whole way. Some things go on with other characters, particularly Tessa and Jarrod and I'm really hoping they get a follow up book or novella (although I don't think novella will be good enough with what Tessa wants done).
See my favorite things about my books, that's right MY books, are: damsel in distress (check), Alpha has his mind made up (check) and a good story and side characters (check). Oh and obviously fantastic, juicy, hot sex scenes a plenty (-). So this probably only had 2 MAYBE 3 scenes and wasn't that hot a build up to those scenes, however, I still liked the story so much I was able to look over it.
So anyway, with all that rambling, I hope you can tell that this is a good book, it's quick, not so much fun as it is serious and not much sex. But it is SUPER sweet and you get to catch up on others AND (one of my favorite parts about this particular) is MEET new characters. I absolutely can not FRIGGIN wait for Slade and Jill. This was the couple in Duncan that had my panties setting on fire, not Duncan and Pam. They were just mellow, sweet loving. But Slade and Jill...shew, you know their's is going to be fantastic!

Duncan he comes off as an a** but I overlook that because he's just going out of his mind looking for someone he loves, "first off, get your big-a** feet off my desk before I break your legs." He knocked them off anyway before Sid could comply. "Second of all, I'm fine. So go and tell your women thanks, but...butt out." He's a possessive sort as well, "the hell you will," Duncan growled down the back of her neck. "You are mine, and I will not let you go this time." The whole gang is in the book but it's Sid that always captures my heart with his smarta** comments, "you too!" Sid walked in just as Duncan pulled Pam off him. "Did you not read Sid's Kitchen Law? I swear there is more screwing around in this kitchen than there is eating. Maybe I need to start charging by the hour. I can make serious cash flow off you guys." Personally I think the boy is jealous that he doesn't have a woman. Duncan is a considerate sort, "the first time I take you is going to be in our bed." He looked down at her, his eyes black with desire. "Then, we will make our way into my office where I have dreamed of making love to you on my desk." I really can't wait for Sid's book!

This is the 3rd book in the series and focuses on Duncan and Pam. First let me say that this is my favorite in the series and I can't wait for Sid's book. The story picks up a few months after Jared's story ends. We find Duncan who is the head of the VC warriors a bit off his rocker due to his worry about a missing Pam. All Duncan can focus on is finding Pam and making her his. Pam has been in hiding from everyone thinking she is protecting them from her crazy ex Kevin. Once Duncan finds Pam things get very interesting and the story takes you on a emotional ride. Pam has some serious baggage to deal with a big surprise for Duncan and the VC warriors. It was great to see all the warriors rally to protect/ help Duncan and Pam. I have to say Sid kills me , and I can't wait to see the woman who tames him. Without giving spoilers some of the story that involved Sid with Pam/ Duncan/ Sloan made me laugh so hard, I had tears in my eyes. This story is fast paced and a fun read.

The minute Pam Braxton disappeared vampire warrior Duncan Roark withdrew into a shell of himself. The powerful leader has spent all his effort trying to find the woman who has gotten away.

Now that he has a new lead, he finds Pam and every idea Duncan had of sweeping her off her feet is out the window. Pam is broken, has been abused, and not sure that staying with Duncan is fair to him.

Duncan doesn't care, he just wants Pam by his side and will take whatever she can offer. She is his one, to love, protect, and make blissfully happy. However when her ex who is the reason for all of her pain resurfaces, Duncan vows that he will never take a breath again.

This was my favorite thus far of the series. I was not expecting a couple of the turns this one took but it was wonderful. Don't want to reveal too much but wowza.

Falling in love wasn’t something that VC Warrior Duncan Roark ever thought would happen to him and now in a race against time he must find and protect her before the past finds her first in this emotionally gripping paranormal romance. This series just keeps getting better and better and I have to say that I like the way the VC Warriors handle their business, so I can’t wait to read Sid’s story and find out who will have to put up with him…if Sloan doesn’t kill him first.

I really like these series!

I like the Warriors and their ways and I am having fun following the plot.
Who would have thought that Duncan can be such a sweetheart? Not me.
I love the way everything played for him and Pam but mostly I love the fact that I get to follow all the characters and the story.

I love the witty, charming, and gripping characters, as well as, storyline. I love how once you meet one character you never truly lose sight when the focus is put on another. There are some minor typos, but the story flows. My husband is always asking me what I am laughing at, and he knows the answer when I have my nose stuck in a book.

Duncan is the 3rd book in Teresa Gabelman's The Protectors Series.

Duncan has been portrayed as the most serious and most responsible among the VC Warriors in the previous books. That's because he's the leader of the VC Cincinnati Branch. He's also the strongest and the other warriors look up to him with respect.
Pam was originally portrayed as Nicole's bubbly, cheerful, and funny sidekick/best friend. But on the 2nd book her personality changed dramatically because of some traumatic horrors involving her psycho boyfriend.

In this 3rd installment, Duncan must find Pam to protect her and the unborn baby from her ex boyfriend. Can Pam ever forget everything that happened and move on to give herself and Duncan a shot on love and happiness? This book is a MUST READ for all paranormal romance and vampire romance readers.

One thing that I really love about The Protectors Series is it KEEPS GETTING BETTER. Duncan is darker than the previous books. Plotwise, Duncan is deeper and darker than the previous books. And that's what made this book better. It proved that the series isn't just about action and humor. Romance-wise, the couple, Duncan and Pam, have a more emotional foundation to their story. They have a very deep connection to each other and their love was more credible than the previous books' couples.

When I was reading this book I was really affected by Pam's nightmares and I was very furious at Kenny that I want to kill him myself. And because the hero is Duncan the book is more solemn than Damon's and Jared's. Good thing the cheerful gang is present to lighten the mood. Sid and Nicole are funnier than ever. They really cracked me up with their mock blackmails.

When I read Damon's book I thought it was excellent. When I read Jared's book, I thought it was one of the best and definitely better than Damon's. This time, Teresa Gabelman outdid herself and made this book much better than Jared's. I'm giving this 5 SOLID FAIRY WINGS! Definitely a must-read and worth your every cent and time.

Oops, before I forget, another warrior was introduced in this book. He's strong, he's hot, sexy, and he's a doctor! Slade is a really likeable addition to the warriors and I'm looking forward to reading his own book.

P.S. I really enjoyed the interview with Damon and Jared. Hope I can do another interview with the warriors and maybe with their mates. *wink*

From the onset of Teresa Gabelman's third installment in her Protectors series, it was clear that there would be little room for air or respite. We are immediately thrown into drama and action, swiftly followed with a romance so sweet, yet smoldering hot, that it was impossible not to immediately love 'Duncan' and the characters.

'Duncan' hits a new level of depth in the series. The protagonist, Pam, carries with her such a history, one that is painful and moving. She is not the woman who I grew so fond of in 'Damon'. The realistic and deeply descriptive character development surrounding her character, was beautifully constructed by Gabelman. I cried and was truly moved.

Overall, I found the story line empowering and uplifting. With the support and strength of the dreamy Duncan, it was easy to cement a new book crush in my life. The character relationships really enabled 'Duncan' to come alive on paper. Always a bonus when the warriors are so darn hot.

Gabelman's inclusion of the other much loved characters from the series in 'Duncan', plus a new hottie, was well executed. I loved the inclusion and the chance at following their stories a little more. Far too often in a series, the main characters from previous books, get left behind. Not in Gabelman's awesome series they don't. Result!

Be sure to check out this amazing series. I loved 'Duncan'. It's definitely a 'don't think just buy' book.

Oh my this book was A M A Z I N G!!
It was so emotional, heartwarming, heartbreaking, and funny! These Warriors are so one of a kind characters. This one was mostly about Duncan and Pam but, it also had some other warriors issues in it.
Duncan is going crazy looking for Pam, she took off with Kenny a bastard of a... I don't even want to call him a man because he isn't! He got Pam to go by treating her friends so she left to keep them safe.
When he finds out where Pam is he rushes to her. So shocked to see her and she's pregnant!
This story deals with abuse and how Pam takes back her life and I LOVED IT!!
As always this author sucks you to the world of the Warriors. I read is 3 hrs I literally couldn't put it down because I had to know what happened next!
I am dying to find out what happens next! I look forward to reading Sid and Slade's story!

I finished Duncan yesterday - the third book in The Protector Series by Teresa Gabelman. To say this was the best book in the series is an understatement. Teresa wrote this book from her heart and it definitely shows - it will have you feeling all the pain that Duncan is going thru since Pam disappeared 3 months ago - it will have you crying tears of happiness when he finally finds the love of his life - it will have you crying and going through all the pain and horror that Pam went through under the hands of Kenny - you will want to reach into the book and grab Kenny and well you will want to just mess him up - you will laugh at Jared and laugh at Sid's jokes - Teresa even throws a surprise into the mix when Pam comes home. Teresa's writing is such that you feel like you are in the room with all of them - from the homecoming to the ooh la la lovemaking to the fights. Teresa has definitely outdone herself. I love all the books in this series but I have to say that Duncan is by far my favorite.

Would I recommend this book to everyone? You bet I would. It is definitely a must read. If we could give 10 stars this would definitely be the one to get them. Thank you Teresa for an awesome book.

Rate - more than 5 stars if possible --- Duncan by Teresa Gabelman is the third book in her The Protectors series. I am so hooked; having read all three books in this series, I LOVE THEM ALL, there is no favorite, I have become so engrossed with these vampire warriors, the half-breeds, their loves, their heartbreaks, their happiness, their pain, their anger, last but not least, the absolute humorous and laugh out loud banner between them. The bad guys well let just say, wish there was a way the reader would also be able to get their hands on them. These books are a definite delight to read, Teresa’s writing style is fantastic, she has her characters coming to life; you keep turning the pages, not wanting to miss anything, always wanting more and never have the story to come to an end. The wait for the next book in this series will be agonizing and the thought that this series will eventually come to an end is something I don’t want to think about, this series has been put on my TBR list (look for author’s newly published books and books to be re-read again and again).

I read Damon, the first book in this paranormal romance series when I received my Kindle in 2011 and have been consumed with the series since then. Jared came a long next and stole my breath. I had been waiting anxiously for Duncan’s book and it was worth the wait! This book has everything. It is nerve wracking, passionate, exciting, fun and sad at times. I am confident you will enjoy this book and if you have not read it yet, the entire series. Reader warning: Be prepared to laugh, cry, and fall in love with The Protectors of the Vampire Council and their mates! The really great news is there is more to come!

Teresa Gabelman is a wonderful author and when I read her books I feel like I am right there with her wonderful Warriors and their sassy mates! Can you tell that I loved this book? I only hope she is writing frantically to get Sid to me. :)

I adored Pam and Duncan’s story and for those of you looking for the new character, Slade is HAWT!!!! The love and connection those two have is undeniable and Duncan will go thru whatever measures he has to, to save the one he loves. But will Pam be able to return to the life she once knew and how forgiving will everyone be? What secrets that Kenny has held close will be revealed? This story has kept me on the edge of my seat, laughing and crying at so many points. The Warriors are the funniest characters and the bantering back and forth between them shows what a true brotherhood and family really is. This is one of those series that will hold you captive till the next story comes out.

An awesome read.

This was a very enjoyable book that I could not stop reading once I started. As soon as I started reading it, I was hooked, no putting it down.

The story moved along at a very good pace, has a very interesting world and characters that you fall in love with. I cannot wait to read more about these characters and the world from which they live.

Teresa Gabelman is a very talented author who has created an interesting world that captivates the reader and keeps them entrenched in the story, and needing more. I would have no problem suggesting these books to my friends.

This series gets better with each new book.

Warrior vampires protecting both races. If you love PNR with a great story, romance and sexy alpha males kicking arse then this is the book for you. I love her style of writing.

Duncan finally finding the woman he has loved and searched for since she disappeared. This story is deep with emotion, but also has great humour in there too.

This author is going into my all time favourites.

Taking back her power

Oh wow! This is one of those books that just gets you right in the feelings. Be mindful as there are some triggers, but the author did such a fantastic job of showing Pam getting her power and confidence back that they are more of an afterthought. This is one of my favorite books in the series, I’m looking forward to seeing what the author has in store for the rest of the warriors.

2018 Review
I really loved this paranormal romance story; I couldn't stop reading it! It's got everything that I look for in a great book; action, romance, humour, a gripping plot-line and well written, erotic sex scenes. I’ve got to be confess, this book had me blubbering like a baby more than usual and got my blood boiling with rage too and while I’ve got to be honest and say that I also found certain scenes disturbing and hard to read, Duncan also had me laughing my socks off, sent tingles of titillation to all the right spots *blush* and warmed my old romantic heart.

This book, heck this series so far, certainly doesn't shy away from difficult themes; child abuse, physical abuse, racism, sexual abuse, human trafficking... luckily Ms Gabelman tackles these subjects with compassion, engaging prose and balances out the horror with beautiful romance, oodles of humour and great banter.

I would just like to take this opportunity to say that the story arcs relating to the new half-breeds and the vampire blood drug trade continues in various forms throughout this series. Ms Gabelman does weave basic details into her books, so that new readers are not completely lost and although I don’t think that it’s essential to your enjoyment of Duncan to have read the previous books, I do feel that you’d miss an awful lot if you haven’t read them first.

Due to the nature of the storyline, the graphic violence and sexual content (it’s definitely steamy) I’d recommend this book to adults only who are fans of relationship and romance tales with gritty story-lines and lots of passion.
