Manga Moods, Too: 40 Faces + 80 Phrases

Rate this book
A raised eyebrow, a curled lip, a wink of the eye. All it takes is a single clever stroke of the G-pen to instantly change a manga character's mood from one extreme to the other:cheerful to cheeky, bashful to blue, even innocent to guilty. In Manga Moods, Too: 40 Faces + 80 Phrases, Saori Takarai presents a series of full-color drawings to show just how these transformations take place. In addition, each of the facial expressions is labeled with the English and Japanese word for the mood being depicted, along with common Japanese conversational phrases and simple translations, making this delightful book a great gift for aspiring artists, language enthusiasts and manga fans alike!

If you are Autistic, an artist, love anima/manga, and want to learn Japanese, this is the book for you, lol!!!

But I do wish that they showed the way that the Phrases/words were said for English speakers.

I am so honoured to be able to add this book to GoodReads! ❤
I purchased it while at the London MCM Expo 2012.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book, Manga Moods: 40 Faces + 80 Phrases, which I purchased from my local Waterstones.
The original was so cute, full of colour, easy to read. It was just a joy to own.

This follow-on from such a successful little book does not disappoint!
In fact, there characters almost seem to have conversations with one another.
The mood of one character and their expression leads onto the mood of another and their response.

I massively hate romaji, but was pleased to see Hiragana made an appearance.

Though you'd never read this book like a normal story book, it is fun to pick up to brighten your day.

Highly recommend.
