What a fabulous book! The examples, the descriptions, the quilts, all fabulous -- this author really knows her stuff, and she has the ability to share that information in a clear, easy to understand manner. Really, if you have any questions about how to put colors together in art, quilting, or anywhere else--read this book.
Joen Wolfram explains color clearly, and the photos illustrate her concepts clearly. She tries to demystify the factors that make some quilts so much more appealing than others. Inspiring to read, even if the reader is NOT going to make a quilt any time soon.
This book is so methodical in its presentations of colors, that the gorgeous pictures of nature and buildings disappear. They do not stand out, and they should. Perhaps the decision to have these pictures be always the same small size also help make them become insignificant.
How can I rate this any differently? I wrote it.... and loved writing and illustrating it. My current project is to update it, as it is now over a decade old....yet still is very popular.
