Yea, so I lied when I said I was just starting to write my review yesterday, I didnt even try - before you call the firing squad to come shoot me, I have a good reason
description

Honestly, I just didnt know where to start, so Im going to start with the background and events in the book, then I will regale you all with my seriously unwanted opinions.

description

Right so in the previous book, it ends with her thinking Luke is dead and she faints....Obviously, Luke is not dead, don't be stupid, that was bound to happen.
description

So they get to the hospital and they find Luke - well done, kids. Then we find out it is actually who died in the car wreck, and then Bryce admits to Lexi that he fucked Anna.

description

She walks away, and goes to a fortune teller - she tells her to look for a specific butterfly then she will have her answer - she falls into the arms of and yes, I was mother fucking THRILLED.

description

Bryce has a milkshake with Anna and they begin to actually feel an attraction to one another....During this time there is also a subplot carrying on. Lexis mom and Bryces father had a child together, Bryces mother planned to adopt the child when the child had cancer. Luke came forward with the information that the child was in hospital and that Luke and Bryces mother volunteered at the hospital and saw her often.

Now there is noone to adopt her:
description

Well, that is where you are wrong my friends, there is in fact someone who steps up.

description

There are many a revelation about Luke, Lexi, Bryce, Anna and Bryces Father in this book, the rest I cant get in to but I can tell you your curiosity will be satisfied.

OKAY, ON WITH MY OPINIONS
I understand Anna is hurt by Lexi not being a good listener, I really do - but bitch, if you had put your hands on what I considered mine, I would have beat the piss out of you.

description
And to all her bull-fucking-shit excuses as to why you slept with your BEST FRIENDS DAMN BOYFRIEND I say....

description

Im glad Lexi got her happy ending, honestly. I think she did a whole lot of soul searching in this book and she tried to set right her problems, I liked the way her character developed

description

In this book, Bryce made me mad, the way he treated Lexi all the way through really pissed me off. I needed to hit him....in the face...With a shoe.

description
I don't like the way he treated Anna either - even though I dont like her.

description

Annnnnnnnnyway, thankyou for reading my review, I hope you enjoy reading the book. description

I bought this book (the sequel to Scarred) because Scarred ended on a cliffhanger and I can't stand not knowing the outcome but the truth is I wish I hadn't wasted £2 and two hours of my life. I found the story got incredibly messy and almost incestuous which is a real shame as the first half of Scarred showed real potential. Scarred and Healed should have been one book rather than two relatively short ones and the author should have concentrated on one or two story lines rather than trying to involve each character into the drama. It was more of a tangled web for me than a structured story.

I should have just stopped after reading Scarred because Healed did not make Bryce's betrayal of Lexi any better. It actually made it worse! I know, how can that be?

After the finding out about Bryce's betrayal, Lexi

I'm sorry, but that's all just nuts to me. I was really hoping things were going to get back on track with Healed. I really enjoyed the first half of Scarred and, besides the craziness of this entire story, J.S. Cooper is a really good writer. I hate writing a poor review, but I just can't get beyond all the nearly incestuous connections. I feel like the story ended up being way more complex than it needed to be.

Ugh! If I thought that 'Scarred' was juvenile, this one took the cake! Drama, drama, drama! Fickle emotions, bizarre psychic readings, death, secrets. As if that wasn't enough, the mayor seems to be seeding his very own army in this small town!

Back and forth, back and forth. Bryce, Lexi, Luke and Anna switched partners too many times to keep track of. It was like a junior version of 'Wife Swap'!

Immature. Melodramatic. Damn irritating! No, no, no, no, no, no. This was just bad. The best thing I can say about this series is that it was short and quick.

***WARNING, MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS! READ AT OWN RISK***
Firstly I would like to thank J for allowing me the pleasure of reading "Healed" before it was out. It was simply amazing and everything I could hope it would be. There were times I wanted to yell, scream and throw my Kindle...In fact... I did ;-) haha. You will see why when you read, I must urge you read the whole thing ;-) Everything happens for a reason.
Now onto some key points I loved and made me sad about this book and also some of my favorite quotes.

-Lexi singing her songs and Bryce's dad asking what she see's was hilarious! Almost peed myself!
-Lexi is a Little kooky this book, lol. But it was adorable and so Lexi Lord.
- We find out who it was that died and boy, was the death scene so sad and tragic.
-Anna's and Lexi's fight was heart breaking, I had truly disliked Anna for what she did to Lexi and then you learn more and you feel more bad for her then you do Lexi.
-The kooky psychic I LOVED! And boy was she right ;-) Especially about the Albotras.
-I love when the psychic basically puts her in her place, I was like "Yes, about time!" Lexi needed the swift kick in the....
-The moment on the phone with Luke and Bryce was so touching and so sad. I'm happy they could get along for Shelby's sake. You learn many things about Luke this time around.
-To me Bryce's and Lexi's heart felt conversation made me laugh so hard, I'm happy they could be honest with each other. In time you will see that everything happens for a reason and it was best for things to turn out how they do, it may not seem like it. But I promise you, it is.
All in all this book I would give more stars if I could. It was beautiful and touching and I promise you will love it.Read it open minded. The entire end of the book and the 3 months after was perfect. I am so beyond happy and proud of how it ended and J.
Now enjoy! <3

Quotes I enjoyed and loved.

"Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket."

"He'll be my pick every time."

"Can't you feel the beating of my heart? A heart that exists just to love and be loved by you."

"I'm saying you're better than a Prince. I'm saying you're my best friend, my everything. You've been the sunshine sitting in my pocket while I've been waiting for the rain to stop."

"I'm your albatross, Lexi."

"You healed my broken heart, my love. You healed my broken heart."

I'm about to go on a massive rant...(INCLUDES SPOILERS)

Ok, so I was extremely excited about reading this book after the first one. The first book is pretty much based around Bryce and Lexi, who I ultimately wanted to end up together considering they're the main characters who love eachother. But no, in the second book she ends up with her best friend Luke. I am all for a best-friend-turn-lover plot line, but don't make us fall in love with the two previous characters in one book, to only flip it on it's side and change everything. They are practically two different books with the same female character. The fact she ended up with her best friend and not the original love interest (who, may I state, is referred to as her soul mate), ruins the entire series. Maybe my rage is based around my love for Bryce, but I repeat, DO NOT MAKE US FALL IN LOVE WITH THE HOT MILITARY MAN, ONLY TO DESTORY OUR SHIP IN THE NEXT BOOK! Make your mind up and choose one plot line or the other. I'm done.

Okay- this book was just weird. The whole first chapter is just bizarre to me.

Spoilers******

Okay, why would the Mayor get called for a fatal accident in town?! No one notifies the mayor unless it's his family. In which case he'd know that.

Also, many parts of this story were unbelievable... Adoption is super hard, how would some 24 year old kid with no job or house be able to adopt?! Nope. And how can you be so in love one second with a person and then decide the next day it was never really love and you really love someone else?! Nope. These things demand time that the author did not give.

But I could overlook those things if not for the, again, juvenile writing of the characters interactions. The flow was too fast and didn't dive very deep into things that needed more exploration. And again the story spans like a weeks time in which everything gets completely turned upside down!

I gave 3 stars still because props to the author for not playing out the story in a way you'd expect. I was surprised how things ended up. The idea for a great story was there, it just wasn't pulled off very well. I felt like this story might be okay if the characters were high schoolers maybe, because the whole thing felt very drama-ridden-high-school to me.

SPOILERS

I don't get this series. Sure the partnering had the potential to be cute (love it when best friends fall in love) but for some reason in this book it just did not make sense. Anna and Bryce.. just felt random to me like the whole, they both need a happy ending so why don't we just put them together. I just can not see how Bryce even cared for her when he de-virginised her in the first place, and then all of a sudden is in love with her after talking to her a couple of times. It just seemed rushed and sadly, not realistic at all.

I knew it was going to be bad, I just didn't realize how bad it could get. The feelings I have for Lexi is hate. She is a self-centered fickle brat who is playing two guys. Luke is pathetically waiting for Lexi to chose him. Bryce is just a f'ed up as Lexi. and Anna is also pathetic wallpaper. Too many characters, to much drama, not a clear romance. Since when is sex all the sudden a romance. and girls don't stay virgins into their 20's to just give it up on one date. smh

SOME SPOLIERS!!!!
I read the first book Scarred in a day. Right when i finished the first one i went and bought the second one because the first one ended on a cliff hanger. This by far was one of the most agravating books i've ever read. in the first book its so good Lexi and Bryce are together and are happy. Until Lexi's friend Anna comes and screws Bryce and then things go down hill from there. S*** hits the fan.
Anna then believes that her and Bryce are in love and that they are dating but Bryce is still dating lexi. And then luke comes and confesses his love to Lexi and wants her to be with him and to leave bryce. But the start of the second book was horrible.
I was expecting a good happy book with not that much drama or stupid choices. WHAT A HORRIBLE SEQUEL! Luke and Lexi should not have ended up together,i get that everybody loves the oh look best friends in love happy needing blah blah blah. In this case no.
Anna is the crazy jealous best friend that lord help her. She is so jealous of her best friend that she has to go and sleep with Bryce! Like dang Anna stay in your lane! Anna hated Bryce and thought he was such an a-hole and a stuck up jerk. In high school she didn't even like him she like his friend Eddie! She just had to homie hop her way to happiness.
After Bryce and Anna sleep together they don;t even think about telling Lexi for weeks. Idiots. When Bryce tells Lexi that he slept with her best friend she is pissed ad hurt. She has every right to be pissed and hurt she got cheated on and slummed by her best friend and boyfriend.
And then Lexi goes to Luke and confesses her love for him and they have sex and love each other. But Lexi is still dating Bryce. Then Bryce goes and hangs out with Anna and kisses her and then he tries to go back to Lexi.
Back in high school Lexi's mom and Bryce's dad have an affair and have a daughter that they gave up so nobody knew about it. What i don't understand is how Lexi had no idea that her mom was prego and not know! So Bryce and Lexi end up having a brother and sister that the share and then Luke finds out he's adopted that his dad is Bryce's dad. So really they all end up being related and thats just weird. Not worth $2.99!!!!

We start Healed as Scarred left off with Bryce and Lexi being told that there had been an accident! where Lexi thinks that the accident involves Luke, they dash to the hospital, and its here we find Luke visiting a sweet little girl, but all the while Lexi thinks she has lost her best friend. She is beside herself.

We sadly learn that its Bryce's mom who is the fatality in the accident, causing Bryce heartache, its also a time for reflection, Bryce finally comes clean with Lexi about Anna, and all the other things that have plagued him! Bryce blames his dad for his mom's death

Bryce finds out from Luke about the little girl he has been visiting turns out to be Lexi and his little sister, also about Luke having been adopted. Bryce decides that his life is going to change by adopting his little sister. Luke uncovers a lot of hidden secrets including the fact that his is also Bryce's sibling.

Lexi and Anna finally talk maybe not clearing the air but finally talk! she learns that Anna had feelings for Eddie, Luke also tells Lexi that he is there for her anytime for her. She goes for a drive to clear her head! Where she finds a Physcic, who talks with Lexi and helping her to see things differently, its here she finally sees Luke as more than a friend, and that her feelings for Bryce is not love, but she does have strong feelings for him, now they are binded by the joint love of their newly found sister. Bryce also notices his feelings for Anna.

Loved the epilogue, they all deserved to get happiness that came to them!

Wasn't too thrilled with this series. Really couldn't connect with the characters. I kind of feel as if this book was thrown together. The only character I probably liked was Luke. Lexi seemed just as crazy as her mother...I didn't like Anna at all. I pictured her as the funny looking girl who played Kristin Bell's coworker/friend in that movie When in Rome. Having the little girl Shelby calling Bryce, Papa Bryce. Really? I think the author should have mentioned that Eddie was gay in the first book. This story wasn't thought out very well. I didn't like that Bryce, Shelby, Lexi and Luke were basically linked because of Mayor. Really? I'm giving the book 2 stars because of Luke. I liked him from the beginning. Oh yeah, I'm not sure how I feel about the whole Madea thing. That wasn't realistic...Not because the characters were white. It just came from no where. A man liking Madea movies? Really? I'm done...

I was really disappointed with this story.

I mainly only read it due to the way the last book ended but really wish i hadn't wasted my time even though this was more like a short novella.

The is a decent story underneath, however the writing really brings it down. The feelings do not feel real, sometimes their conversations are to advanced for people of their age and the romance scenes.... God where do i start.

The romance scenes leave a lot to be desired. At times i was crying out REALLY? You wanna write it like that? I couldn't relate to them, they felt forced and were poorly written. Either hint at what they do or write it properly otherwise it just doesn't work. It really helped to bring the book down.

I am sorry to say i will probably not read another book from this author.

I liked this one a little more than Scarred. i won't write a long review because there isn't too much to say.

The story did get to be like a Love Musical Chairs, everyone move around one space and stick with the partner. Add a bunch of Chinese whispers that everyone's involved with but no one tells the right person, only the wrong person. And concocted a few meaningful storybook metaphors to fill it out.

All the key characters grew up and had a new outlook on life in about...two weeks. But the Epilogue did make up for a lot. I wouldn't say this was a great series to read. It's interesting and passed the time nicely.

The only reason I read this book was bc Scarred left off with a little bit of a cliffie. This book was a little better than the previous but not by much. I was completely confused as to how fast everything was moving. Most of the characters were so immature I would slap them if they were real people. I'm sort of happy with the end but all in all nothing spectacular happened. Lexi with her fairytale dreams just really pissed me off. You're 22 woman! Grow the hell up!!!! This story should have never been made into a book. There's a lot of loose ends and I'm confused as to what the point of this book was?
This series sucked but give Cooper's Last Boyfriend series a try. It's way better.

Maybe more like 2.5 stars?

Three stars is probably a bit generous, but all things considered, I did enjoy this two book series. The story itself was decent enough to draw me in. But the characters themselves are ridiculously immature and act like they're all13 (they're 22-23). Plus, there are a fair amount of typos and a couple confusing continuity issues. I think a strong-handed editor could have helped shape this into a five star romance, instead of leaving it the mediocre teen drama it is.

This book was ridiculous. It's the weirdest romance I've ever read and made NO sense. Seriously. I won't even put a spoilers thing because I didn't care about any of it.

SPOILERS BECAUSE I HAVE ONE THING TO SAY

WHY NOT JUST MAKE THE DAMN BOOK ABOUT LEXI AND LUKE?! For the love of Batman himself, WHY. Seriously, it was so STUPID. I felt TERRIBLE for Bryce. None of it made sense. This was a stupid book.

Are you friggin serious right now? Is everyone related? And anna should not have a HEA especially with him after what she did. I can believe she is even still around. Luke is the only good thing about this whole series. Just no. The whole series was like watching an upside down circus in a foreign language through scuba goggles.

Disappointed

Disappointed

The book was written very immature, almost as if it had been written by a freshman in high school. There were grammatical errors, incomplete ideas, and a mess of confusion. I loved Rhett and found it well written and laid out but this book was a Hugh struggle for me to finish.

I found the novel a little bit boring. I didn't suspect she would get with Luke but at the same time, I'm happy she did. However the whole novel really laid back and I didn't think it was very creative. The way the author wrote Lexi at the start made me think she had some serious mental problems.

Meh

That's all I can say about this book. I hate giving bad reviews - but there was no redemption for this book. Or the series. Healed continues in the same half hearted, non-refined manner that Scarred ended. The editing is as shaby. The character development as abysmal and unsatisfactory. Also, the language usage for 20-something year olds?? It doesn't fit - at all. The writer should consider the audience and day and age we live in. I'm older than the characters and I don't even speak like that. I only bought it because Scarred ended on a cliffhanger and I wanted to know who died - and I should really have just saved myself the time and money and read the reviews to find out who died.

I only finished this to see what happened.the audible narrator was terrible. The Male lead was a war veteran whose pain was real but the narrator's teenaged girl's voice ruined all the painful moments. Made them seem like trivial and passing moments. Tho, perhaps partial blame should be on the writing. The main character is the most self-absorbed. Selfish character. But some characters start out that way and are redeemed in the end. The storyline had such potential for a friends to lovers plot.

Need to read. It's the second book to scarred and it changes everything you thought you might know. Bryce's mom passes away in a terrible accident with some secrets of her own. Lexi is confused for who she truly loves. Until a psychic tells her to follow her heart. Great series. Wish more books would come of this. One can only hope.
