In his job as a fundraiser for Diggerson college, Mitch Harmon hears the word “no” a lot. Getting people to part with their hard-earned cash isn’t easy, no matter how good the cause, and the constant rejection is starting to wear on Mitch. The only bright spot of his job is Cal Marlow, a successful software developer and alum of Diggerson College, who has been generous with his donations.

When their relationship goes from strictly business to physical, they agree it should remain no-strings-attached. But, Mitch finds himself falling for Cal, despite his vow to keep things simple. When he finally gets the courage to tell Cal how he feels, Cal has an announcement of his own—he’s met someone, and wants to put an end to their fun and go back to being “professional.”

Has Mitch missed his chance at happiness, or can he find a way to get the love and the life he wants?

Heidi Champa is a typical last-born child. Snarky, attention-seeking and rebellious, she started to create dirty stories to keep herself out of real trouble. Having tried her hand at a million terrible jobs, she bought herself a laptop and finally started typing up those handwritten tales. After much deliberation, she started to let other people read her work.

In addition to her flare with the written word, she knows every sentence of the movie Clue by heart and bakes a mean Funny Cake. She loves Aussie Rules Football (Go The Cats!!), dancing to bad music and laughing too loud in public. A natural born klutz, she has been known to fall for no reason at all and always has a bruise somewhere on her body. Her life has taken her all over the world, but a piece of her heart will always be in Australia. She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband.

She has been published in numerous anthologies including Best Women’s Erotica 2010, Best of Best Women's Erotica 2, Playing With Fire, Frenzy, College Boys, Like Magnets We Attract, Skater Boys and Ultimate Curves. Her first novella, White Out, was published by Amber Allure in August 2010 and her second, All Expenses Paid, was released in June. She has also steamed up the pages of Bust Magazine. Ok, it was a 4* read until the party. Then it went to a 1* but I'll compromise with a 2.75*

It aggravated me and annoyed me, couldn't stand Cal after that, so my enjoyment went down hill.
Mitch and Cal have a 'no strings attached' thing going, and of course since Mitch's job is to solicit donations from Cal for the College it's also a little sticky.
Mitch develops feelings for Cal and just when he wants to make his move and change their relationship Cal dumps him.
Ok...all in all it's a light, sweet and easy read.
But

Ok, that's just me, probably over thinking things as usual. :)

I liked the main idea in this short romance, but gosh, I truly dislike females like Kayla, mostly because they are pushy, bitchy and all knowing. This shorty is to undeveloped in my oppinion and to short. I'm sure it could be better.

The Plot:
Mitch Harmon, working as a fundraiser for Diggerson college, is not happy in his job “I’m beginning to think I’m not cut out for this job.” but at least he has big time donor, wealthy software designer Cal Marlow. It is not only the big checks Cal writes that holds Mitch's interest but it is also the casual, no strings sex the two men engaged in. But Mitch Lately, though, it wasn’t so easy to be in his arms without my heart feeling the tug. has decided to tell Cal the truth about his feelings. But Mitch holds back when Cal breaks things off because he has met someone.

I liked:
I liked Mitch, a lot. He was loveable and I felt his misery. I could not understand why he was still working this job when he clearly was not happy. I also like his co-worker and friend, Kayla, she was his rock and biggest supporter.

I didn't like:
I did not like Cal. He was an arsehole and did not deserved Mitch.
Even the reason for him visiting Mitch is only because Kayla kicked his arse. IMO, he just did nothing to get back together and I would have like Mitch to have a bit more spine.
Cal even manage to get Mitch on his boss's bad side and probably would have got him fired.

Overall:
A short story that could have had a lot more potential if it maybe was a normal length.

Honest confession; when I saw the cover of this book I so didn’t want to read it, don’t know why it gave me a negative feeling. And then the blurb seemed so dull. Well thankfully the book was more than what I expected and I ended up pleasantly surprised.

Mitch has a job he doesn’t quite like and dear Lord I don’t blame him at all. But the one bright prospect is Cal. Their chemistry instant the moment they met leads them to having a no-strings-attached affair. Totally unprofessional of Mitch, but hey, you can’t resist a man like Cal.
Their relationship, no matter how shallow it seems, slowly develops to something deeper and Mitch is feeling drowned and trapped. He wants thing to get more but he’s afraid that if he pushes for it he might lose Cal altogether. After finally making up his mind he’s beaten to punch by Cal announcing that he met someone and their attraction is so good, that he doesn’t want to jeopardize it by continuing the affair with Mitch.

And at this point I’m flabbergasted, because I had only read half the blurb and I didn’t see this coming. The thing is that the way the story is written it totally leads you on into believing that the guys will go for it after this dinner and the story will be about the difficulties of balancing work and relationship. I know, I should pay more attention to the damn blurb.

As it was I was surprised; the angst and intensity sky-rocketed for me for this point on. I literally gasped and groaned with how the story floated and the rest of the book flew by in a heartbeat. The last twist in the plot, while expected, was still executed amazingly well and the writing itself was lovely. The characters were both very charming and I couldn’t help not to feel sorry for Mitch on more than one occasions. I wanted his happy ending so badly that when it came it was like “it was about damn time already”. Bah the frustration.

Anyway, a lovely read with a bit of angst and heart-break specially ordered to keep you on your toes Charitable Giving is a book I wouldn’t hesitate recommending.

: Mitch works for the charitable giving section of the college. He is going to meet with his favorite client Cal. Their meetings have become very hot interludes and Mitch has found he has feeling s for Cal. But they had an agreement when they became lovers that it was no strings attached and Mitch doesn’t want to chance losing any contact with Cal so he keeps his feeling to himself. One day Cal wants to talk to him and he decides to tell him his feelings after his best friend prods him into it. Cal tells him he met someone and can no longer be more than a business acquaintance. Mitch is heartbroken.
This is a very intriguing and hot romance between two men that have a big communication problem. It’s a charming story with several twists and turns. There were times I’d loved to deck both Cal and Mitch. This is a must read if you’re looking for a good romance that makes you wonder what the heck is going on. I was pleasantly surprised.
Recommendation if you like a sweet loving romance with a touch of light bdsm, friends to lovers, office romances, and hot mansex you will love this

Mitch and Cal got together because of Mitch's job. Mitch is developing feelings but before he can confess Cal lets him know he's found someone. But with the help of an interfering friend they might just have a chance to try again.

This was my second book from the author and she certainly didn't disappoint with this one. Although predictable, it's emotionally engaging and I devoured it in no time.
